  • battle of heroes and duel of the fates. best movie soundtracks ever.

  • Love this, but I really wish there was footage JUST of the recording session. Without the add-ins of the movie scenes and all that. Does anyone know where I could find something like this?

  • 5 Seperatists who were waiting in Mustafar disliked this, shortly thereafter they were hacked to death by Anakin, or rather, Darth Vader.

  • @Sraye All hail Lord Vader...?

  • Comment removed

  • well skywalker was the one who brought balance to the force...

  • The only good thing about the Star Wars prequels was the music :) thank you John Williams

  • 110,000th viewer what do i get lol

  • John Williams c'est mon Héros!! :D

  • not a single fuck was given that day...

when you hear the intro come in you know shit is about to go down

  • this theme is epic

  • UAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA, amazing!

  • As it kept changing from Darth Vader rising on the table to the orchestra, I started to expect to hear Darth Vader screaming NNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!11

  • i wonder how he feels about creating every single piece of music in all six star wars movies

  • @ZXV825 i wonder how lucas feels about creating all the shit!

  • @ZXV825 he feels LIKE A BOSS

  • Comment removed

  • @ZXV825 Like a badass

  • i enjoyed the orchestra version so much more than the film version ...and i fucking love the film version

  • Can John Williams tell if someone fucked up?

  • @caberwacky i bet his ear is trained against fuck ups

  • okayyyyy

1: starwars was EPIC cause of the music :3

2: I play flue and when i saw that flute chick i was like O:< HOLY SHIZ!

cause she was doing like 5 notes REALLY REALLY fast and they usedmany many fingers

  • At 0:50 to 0:53 the guy with the blue shirt has a laser sword

  • No composer can beat Williams! If I became a director, I'll make John Williams be my composer! Go John Williams!

  • ermoso aunque no entiendo los otros comentarios

  • @sakurita0010 hola! igual vi el video e igual me parecio hermoso el video

  • I would give my soul for a chance to be a studio musician for Williams.

  • The prequels had good music, you have to give 'em that.

  • formidable.franco talò italia

  • Every time I listen to the soundtrack of SW, it gives me goosebumps as if someone has just ran electricity through my body.

  • I want that in my bedroom

  • @mb8605 which?

  • @VoiceOfTheEmpeor The entire orchestra. Its easier coming up with melodies/counterparts/etc when you have access to other instruments. All I have is a piano and the lame sounds coming from Pro Tools' Xpand2 or finale.

  • John Williams went to a Catholic school close to where I live in Queens, NY. I absolutely love his music along with Andrea Bocelli's and Susan Boyle!

  • my favorite out of all johns song i think this one disereves 2 thumbs up instead of 1.

  • John williams, Danny Elfman and Joe Hisaishi; these are the three gods i worship

    May they live forever :)

  • battle for Coruscant, a lot of good clones died that day.

  • Winning!

  • Bravo,Bravo,Bravo!!john williams est un génie de la musique de film...encore merci et Bravo au London Symphony Orchestra!<3

  • #win #win #doublewin

  • what is Chloe O'Brian doing here with a cello ?

  • John Williams in my opinion is one of the best composers

  • How do you get sheet music!?! :(

  • where does the chorus come from? why don't we see them?

  • This is a grand example of Williams' mastery of instrumental interplay, if you will. So many other composers have a generic melodic theme with a second-rate accompanment from the rest of the orchestra.

  • john williams is just too awesome/genius for words.

  • John Williams is a Jedi Master.

  • Jhon Williams is a SUPER genuis!

  • One of his best works.

  • im almost in tears and very high its just so beautiful the way the organsim is one yet the emotions are separated through instrument. LOVE JOHN WILLIAMS

  • a movie is nothing without the music, and john williams delivers...

  • John Williams should change his name to "Greatest Ever".

  • John Williams is Genius

  • @HandsSolo C'mon man. At least 2 people have already said that

  • @EmperorOfTrolls Just Emphasizing Lol

  • Even if people don't like Star Wars, I don't think anyone can deny how awsome the music is. I love all of the movies, but the score is what has really attracted me to the prequels. John Williams = pure, creative, musical genius. Massive props to the LSO as well! :)

  • John's hands up at the end mean "not a sound, that's a take." No coughs, no talking, no chair squeaks, until tape stops rolling in the booth. We're putting that one in the can boys.

  • strong with the force williams is

  • John Williams is so innovative

  • Must've been hard to get this; crazy money!!!!!!

  • John Williams made star wars more alive with the music he has created for it. He is the GOD of music.

  • even if u disagree with lucas, u have to understand John Williams is the best

  • i can't decide witch is better duel of the fates? or battel of the heros? GAH!

  • @iornman12 battle of the heroes, more epic

  • i can't decid witch is better duel of the fates? or battel of the heros? GAH!

  • say what you want about the prequels, there's no doubt the music is amazing, and even then that is underrating them/

  • the force is strong within john williams

  • It is cues like this that I listen to when choreographic stunt/fight scenes for my buddies and I when we are cosplaying. This just makes for the perfect fight scene! (It also kinda helps that I grew up listening to the music...) The mood in this portrays the emotions far more than Lucas and Williams could have dreamed! Two people, who were once allies, now ready to kill each other over a difference in ideals. Tragic and epic at the same time.

  • i love that song i even play on the recorder sortof anakin is cool yeah baby

  • John Williams' music + Conrad Pope's orchestrations = epic music

  • I can listen to this all day...Why are there 4 people dislike this?

  • The volume is so low.

  • The Force is Strong on John Williams..

  • 4 dickheads missed the like button

  • @MICHAELandJELL0 it is indeed a sad world...

  • @MICHAELandJELL0 ....lmao...make that 5...lols...not me though

  • @MICHAELandJELL0 It is concievable that they didn't like the sound quality. The piece itself is great, but the video....

  • John is my favorite musician since I was 8 years old and my grandma gave me the Superman soundrtrack fot my birthday.

  • love the french horn in the beginning.

  • deserves an Oscar

  • OMG, it's incredible

  • This music makes me feel depressed and tense at the same time. Great job John Williams, he is amazing at manipulating emotions through music.

  • maaaaan i love this theme right here. makes me wanna do a mass effect fan film and use this song right here

  • John Williams is the Beethoven of the Movie music industry.

  • The London Symphony Orchestra, possibly the best orchestra in the world.

  • John Williams is Great, so are the Star Wars movies.

  • Williams' music always deserves better films to be featured in.

  • @MST3KLives I hope you're talking about the prequel trilogy, not the original trilogy........

  • @StarWarsFan786 Oh, definitely. The prequels are an extreme example. However, I will say that his music was a BIG part of the success of the original trilogy as well.

  • @MST3KLives I'd say that the music in the prequel trilogy is better than the music in the original trilogy. As such, I think that the original trilogy movies are the best, except perhaps for Revenge of the Sith, which is - on my opinion - epic.

  • fantastic!!!!!!!!

  • I like the music!!!!!!

  • I like star wars so much its great.

John williams is very good and the scenes from the film just awesome

  • Awesome! I love the Star Wars Soundtracks.

  • I love to watch the String Players.... :D

  • Best part 1:26 - 1:45

  • 2:34 Rod Franks =)

  • John Williams is a pure genious.

  • Amen.

  • @GamersMinion

obviously you're not; =genius=, not genious

    i know, im a fag

  • thanks for the video, five stars

  • well john williams we all know you are freeeeeeeeeeeeaking epic. plus lol i love the turning head montage at 2:40.

  • someone is on crack cuz there is no george lucas on the left side of the screen performing at 0:58

  • Someone is obviously in crack cuz there is no george lucas on the left side of the screen at fifty-eight seconds

  • that is one huge frickin music group

  • This is on the dvd? Is it not?

  • whats funny is that the choir is recorded separately...so if this is truly the first recording which it does have some slight performance differences, then they had to mix in the choir latter... so it's not entirely the first recording, it's the first orchestral take mixed with the final choir hah...but still cool.

  • Best theme from both trilogies. Just plain fuck'n epic! Totally en-capsules the struggle of good and evil.

  • John isn´t human..... O_O

  • @30Faith00 He's incredible :D

  • RECORDED ON THE EVE OF MY 15TH BIRTHDAY

  • Awesome, the third movie is by far my favorite.

  • Why would people -neg burrowsshreds? So he likes the 3rd movie best, why is that bad? Seriously, people are just stupid with the negatives on here sometimes.

  • Epic.

    John Williams is a Genius.

  • one of the best songs from the entire star wars series

  • Dual of the fates is the best piece......its all good though...John Williams is a legend

  • Na, he justs rips Dvorjak.

  • between duel of the fates and battle of the heroes, i think battle of the heroes takes the cake...sorry if i don't agree with you...

  • Sighs. Brings me good memories.

  • long life to master john williams

  • this is such a powerful piece of music when I watched the movie it reduced me to tears

  • at 0:58, george lucas was playing on the left

  • FUCKIN EPIC

  • this is a masterpiece!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • John'll die like a hero.

  • This music waah ! This is my favorite Star war music from my favorite movie: revenge of the sith ! What a great film ! It's pure genius. What a tragedy for anakin, he could be one of the most powerful Jedi of all time but he lost his mind for a woman and become slave of darth sidious (aka the empereur). I'm very touched by this caracter, this tragedy and this music reminds me each time how one have to be cautious in his fight against the evil forces that remain in each an everyone !

    See U friend

  • Sweet song. really liked it.

  • ok, seriously, the violins were GREAT in this song. they may be in the background but they played a damn fine job.

  • i wonder what key that french horn was playing in... it sure wasn't F.

  • It is transposed as Horn in F as for the piece its in Dminor i think but thats just from listening to it.

  • that was the first recording?? it sounded EXACTLY like the one in the movie except that the cymbals were louder there. WOW brilliant. :D

  • I think the audio is from the final mix but the video is from the first recording. There are no choirs in the video, if you'll note, and it's very rare for modern scoring to record the choirs and orchestra together at once. Partly because of space, partly for mixing. I think the difference in cymbals is due in part by the compression of the audio on this video.

  • haha i was just meaning to emphasize how great john williams is! :D thanks for the information!

  • The audio is actually from this first recording that is shown. They have absolutely NO limitations regarding equipment or space, due to the fact they're in ABBEY FUCKING ROAD. John doesn't like to do much separate multi-tracking, he prefers to get it all done in one hit so that all of the instruments get the feeling of the music flowing through them.

  • Im just gettin goosebumps on my arms an on my back as I seen this video!

    Very great man!

    Wow!

  • same here

  • John Williams is the best!!

  • There are all kinds of instruments that you never really hear, like that percussion thing and the harp. What a waste.

  • @iamgrunt3 you can't hear everything seperatly? you need to open your ears. plus without them, the band would be bare

  • FANTASTIC!!!!

  • John Williams is like my second favorite composer after Nobuo Uematsu.

  • best saga best theme music!

  • Damn that was the first reading! Thats better than most orchestras could get it in months of rehearsing.

  • Well we are talking about John Williams and the LSO or some other top group of studio musicians.. Not surprising it sounds so stellar. Tbones!

  • Well..."first recording". Not sure if it's first read. I'm just saying I don't know, and I doubt that they'd record the first reading.

It does in fact sound amazing no matter what...

  • AND the fact that it has the singing in it too, but do you see them in the recording? This seems to have a final mixed audio version overlayed onto the recording.

  • john williams is the best...

  • Cool!

  • Awesome, the whole thing, but from the 3:00 minute mark is pure gold.

  • Do something better then, fuckhead. People like you piss me off. You have no appreciation for music whatsoever, and don't know talent when you see it. And in what case did they rehash things from rotj, and esb?

  • Oh, I thought you meant movie setting and ideas.

  • Seems to me you don't know what you're talking about. Simply pointless to say something like that, djstar...

  • Of COURSE he reused themes...it's the same universe with some of the same characters and story morals. But, the music is excellent. Like someone said, the themes he "reused" are leitmotifs, a technique made popular by the composer Wagner in which a theme is always associated with a character, idea, or object. That's why Williams' scores for the series are referred to by many as his great "Space Opera". But, I wouldn't expect you to know that...based on what I've been reading from you so far.

  • It's hard to take seriously the words of a cretin that can't even spell "director" correctly; especially when they say things about how their "metal bands could make better music for the prequels" than John Williams (it's "than" with an "A", not "then" with an "E"). You and your bands can compose better music than John Williams? Please... If you're supposedly a better composer than Williams, tell me, which notes make up a Neopolitan 6th chord in E-Major?

  • Just for the record; I was addressing "djstar...". Didn't want the people who KNEW what they were talking about to think I was addressing them!

  • Leave the metal bands out of this!Reply to "djstar...", say what you want to say, but don't insult other music styles.Just because you can spell right that doesn't give you the right to talk about "our metal bands" as you say....

  • F natural A sharp C sharp in first inversion

  • The quality of the sound could have been something better... :/

  • They have this on the DVD special features. Great song!

  • Well we all know the movie. I wanted to see how they play the score, so I wish it wasn't mixed with scenes from the movie. But still it's rare material, 5 stars.

  • This is so fantastic! They play so perfect! I love John Williams music and the star wars movies :)

  • strange that they mix the choir in when it's not present during the recording lol

  • So you basically just ripped this off of the the DvD, no?

Still, a pretty good video, I'll give you credit for that.

  • ON MY BIRTHDAY!

    OMG!

  • cool...

  • sweeeeeet !
