Thanks for sharing, amazing work, I've been collecting small jars for years but didn't quite know what to do with them yet....this would be perfect. Much appreciated :)))
Love, love, love this tutorial. Thank you so much. Was watching one of Fiona Jennings (Jennings644) videos and she had said she had watched your video on this technique, so off I toddled. Im in the middle of altering a wire guitar that Fiona gave me. Its a gift for my almost 11 yr old wee brother and this technique is perfect. I spent hours covering it in aluminium foil tape yesterday and many foil cuts to my fingers later its ready for this technique. Thanks for sharing. Lee x
always another Masterpiece from you Rach. I love your vids and continue to learn from you. I will always treasure the blue girl you gave me, she is beautiful!!
I am from the UK but i bought rub n buff in Michaels in Nov if that is any help. They had gold silver and copper and all were also in antique finish.x
Stunning result! I'm very impressed! Excellent video tutorial. Must try this. If you didn't want the original paint layers to rub off when you dab off the black, you could seal them first with a layer of gloss gel medium. I really like your work! Off to look at some more!!

it seems so simple, but in having the worst time with it :( and im not new to this kindve thing. Ive taken art lessons for 6 years and have been crafting my whole life.
Great job! I love the one you made for us! Super tutorial much better than ones I've seen you really go over the small details leaving nothing out! Thanks for that!!! Can't wait to try this again... Tori
I had an idea on something several weeks ago, this has totally brought it together for me...gonna play tomorrow! Thanks Rachel! Have a great rest of the weekend! Jules :)
Great video and technique!! I've used something similar on a tag but used alcohol inks instead of the paint. I also use foil and acrylics to add texture to art journal pages. I am going to try altering items with it now after seeing how great yours turned out. Thank you for inspiring :-)
@MissPurplePotato I've got some stuff called Treasure Gold which is very similar, which you may be able to get in the US. It comes in a pot rather than a tube, but you apply it exactly the same. I've also got Treasure Silver and Treasure Bronze, and they do it in all different colours too. Very useful product!
Great video! I love Lumiere paints, bought 1 colour at a quilt festival in Calgary only to find out that no one in Calgary seems to sell it! Should have bought more...
I actually did this foil technique over wooden letters before! I used hot glue drizzled in random swirls for my texture. Of course it didn't near as good as yours!
omg these are just AWESOME!!!. I love these. You are so talented!!! i love this. i have LOADS of tin cans I can alter. Love this. Just need those cool looking paints hehe. Thanks for this vid i may have to try it. gotta find rub and buff
Another beautiful creation, Rachel! I've seen this foil technique before, but the way you painted it is wonderful. And thanks for the tip about CA73. A great, new source of inspiration for me! TFS!

I've never seen the gold leaf in a tube like you showed here in the states. What is the product name? I'd like to see if ebay sells it, thanks!
MissPurplePotato 1 year ago
@MissPurplePotato It's called Rub N Buff by Amaco - It is a metallic wax and comes in a range of colours, Gold Leaf is just one of those colours
RachO113 1 year ago
@MissPurplePotato I have heard a couple of people say that it is sold at Michael's near the paints.
JackieM256 1 year ago
