These are tech demos of the new Nintendo's next gen system. Its far better graphically then the wii as well. These recent videos are just to show that the system can do from a development stand point. It is not what the system can do graphically. Nor are they to games in developement

The PS2 sold about 3 times more than the Wii (fact), had the highest amount of games any console has ever had, had countless games with great ratings along with the fact it is still being supported with new games and is still being produced/ sold and it has a DVD player with a VERY low price tag now. It also supported Sony more financially than the Wii did with Nintendo (Nintendo makes less money with the Wii than PS3 and Xbox).

Like I said it sold way more units overall and Nintendo actually made a profit. Sony and Microsoft lost a ton of money with their consoles and have only been recently making it all up (sony for sure, Microsoft might have gotten back on track sooner). Nintendo pulled the right card and know they actually have the cash to start the next generation now.

They can afford to build a high tech machine unlike Nintendo because they don't only make money from video games. They make BILLIONS of dollars with other things so don't about Nintendo having the cash like if Sony and Microsoft don't.
@Hfajardo97 yes they can afford too, but the money spend on the consoles outmatched the money earned. And the companies work through different departments. Just because they make a ton of money in other areas doesn't meant they wii toss all of that to support one area. And they didn't and most likely won't with the next generation. Nintendo knew to hold back on HD, test new ground with motion control, cater to the casual crowd (not that they sought only casuals), and build up funds with the wii.

It's a simple as, "people will love this and buy it despite the price :D", and then it doesn't work out that way. Lots of big companies go through things like that sometimes. Point it is, S&M's gaming divisions made a loss, worked on making it up while wii made profit, Nintendo has cash for new console, S and M working on making larger profit and supporting kinect and move. 2013-15=S&M 8th gen

I'm not talking about sales because you don't make much money based on sales, you make money through online services and people buying games for your system which the PS3 and 360 do best. Wii U will be left in the dust by the PS4 and 720 so not many people will make games for it since the tech isn't new.

The controller is VERY similiar to the Dreamcast, This has better graphics than PS3 and 360, soooooooooooo, SEGA, we might be able to have Shenmue 3 now.
Looks like a lot of fun for a party game, but online play makes the video controller redundant, but I like the ideas being used for Wii U being thrown around. Can't wait to see what developers will produce.

It's a simple as, "people will love this and buy it despite the price :D", and then it doesn't work out that way. Lots of big companies go through things like that sometimes. Point it is, S&M's gaming divisions made a loss, worked on making it up while wii made profit, Nintendo has cash for new console, S and M working on making larger profit and supporting kinect and move. 2013-15=S&M 8th gen

Its called playing catch-up, it wasn't that Nintendo was like "Hey guys lets just make a new console", it was more like "Holy sh!t we are not making any more money anymore so lets catch up to the already outdated tech M&S have been using for 6 years".

Sony were losing a lot of money per sale because it cost them a lot more money to make the system then the price tag that was put on it. @Hfajardo97 I know that the Wii has begun to dwindle is sales which it why they found it to be the right time to unveil the new console. And yes the sales are CURRENTLY surpassing the Wii. You're not getting that I'm only saying that overall sales are still far behind the Wii, though catching up and the WiiU has a head start for the next generation like the 360 had in this one. @SolidSp33d The generation the Wii U is on is still this one. Unless that the next console comes up a year after the Wii U the Wii U will be competing with the PS3 and 360, not the PS4 and 720. I'm not talking about sales because you don't make much money based on sales, you make money through online services and people buying games for your system which the PS3 and 360 do best. Wii U will be left in the dust by the PS4 and 720 so not many people will make games for it since the tech isn't new.

And the most money they make online is through the arcade games online which the Wii has too. And the Wii does have a lot of games that people buy. I wonder why nintendo opted for analog sliders over sticks, it dosnt make much sense to me as everyone knows sticks feel much better, psp had a slider and it was awful, thats why the vita has sticks, nintendo seem to be going backwards with their hardware and even their technology, i mean if this console is more powerful than ps3, it should have been nintendos goal to show us that its more powerful than ps3, everything ive seen thus far looks worse

My point is i own a 3ds and although the analog slider dosnt feel terrible, i much prefer the feel of an analog stick. Sony arnt stupid, they used the slider and now theyve put analog sticks on their new handheld, my friend taht works for sega uk says it feels better than 3ds
