i love this song ;) watched wicked in the apollo today as a school trip. it was amazing and to make it better i wish is the dragon flew over our heads lol that wudd be scaryyy but amazing...
I'm from Panama I haven't been able to see Wicked live, only through youtube videos but I've come to realize that THIS IS THE BEST CAST!
We need this recording!!! Let's spam the Wicked facebook asking for it, let's ask for online signature. let's do something! before Rachel and Louise leave!!! :(
i went to watch wicked around september/october time in 2011 and i think i watched it with rachel and louise as elphaba and galinda/glinda. they were amazing!!
Shes outstanding. You think this is good, listen to her last one with Louise. December 10th. At the end of the last DG note, she cut short and blew Lou a kiss. A truly stunning performer. No audio will ever come close to the intensity and passion she portrays when you witness her live.
I went to London in August and I'm so glad I went to see this. Such a wonderful cast! Rachel is definitely my favorite Elphaba, but I'm probably biased. :)
I saw Wicked for the third time today but my first with Rachel Tucker and Louise Dearman and wow, it was breath taking, during the whole of this song I had goose bumps :')
saw this yesterday with my best friends for my birthday at the victoria apollo, i was sobbing by the end, the most electric amazing thing i have ever seen, it was extraordinary.
I was there last april on an Ef tour from my school, from newfoundland, canada and it was unbelievable how amazing and good this was live. The acting was amazing as well as their voices. I would love to see this again, it was an amazing musical
@stevencbaker Rachel went to my primary school but i never liked her that much on I'd do Anything. I always wanted Samantha Barks to win! I LOVED Sam as Eponine!!!!
Anyone know if Alexia is any good in the Les Mis role? Havn't heard great things :S
I saw this live in the Apollo theatre yesterday as a birthday present from my boyfriend and it was so mind blowing it brought a tear to me eye and covered me in goose pimples. Absolutely amazing. I've also listened to the American versions and they make it sound so cheesy!
@MissHeulwen hey 3 weeks ago i was there as well with my school we where to londen as school trip before we have exams. (im from the netherlands) and it was really amazing it was just unreal how good it was
@VailaIsMe The American Cast never seem to play the role true to heart, the UK London cast however always seem to make their performance extra believable. That is, after all what makes excellent theatre!!! Rachel and Louise combined are truly astonishing.
@dch4mpi0n I do hope you mean the current American cast and not the Original cast...the originals (Idina Menzel and Kristen Chenowith) were chosen to originate the roles for a reason. Now I've seen Louise and Rachel, and they were fantastic, better than what is on Broadway in the US right now, but not better than Idina and Kristen. I'd say they're the Idina and Kristen of London though, equally as good.
I saw this in London last week and afterwards bought the soundtrack by the original cast. While Idina Menzel has a great voice, Rachel Tucker is the one who wins hands down. There's such power in her voice.
I saw her yesterday and I am really impressed. Her voice is incredibly powerful and I loved her acting as well. From a singer's point of view I just can say that she manages to be both powerful and diverse at the same time. Great recording, by the way!
@rockgodpatrick I actually agree so much on your comment man, its London though I think sometimes the whole Orchestra is on steroids and you have a drummer that is going crazy as well, makes it even more fun :D
@greeeeeg2 Im pretty sure she has changed her vocal placement - still markedly the incredible Rachel Tucker, but Louise has incredible vocal technique so perhaps this is why :)
@howbrightweshine No, I'm from the UK. Have only seen the Australian show once, during its Sydney run. Judging solely on that, its nowhere near as strong as the various other casts I've seen. Acting wasn't as strong as Dianne Pilkington or Ashleigh Gray; and vocals werent anywhere near as good as Kerry Ellis or Rachel Tucker.
My main problem with the Australian cast is the American accents. It RUINS the show, I'd like the London cast SO much less if they had made that decision!
@magicalsamurai2006 I saw Wicked twice in Oz (!) - I have to say I was very impressed with the voices of Lucy Durack and Jemma Rix :) - but it was weird after seeing it in an english accent, then going to australia and hearing it in a slightly dodgy american accent lol. It's probably a bit biased of me, but the Aussie cast should do it in English accents lol
@magicalsamurai2006 Well for the first few months Wicked London was performed with all characters having an american accent. Most probably because idina was american and it would jsut look strange if everyone had british accents and she didn't lol :)
I loved her speech before she flew! And this is just perfection! Such a strong and powerful Elphie! Love her so much!! The last note was perfection and so powerful!! Do you have No Good Deed by any chance? Thanks!
it's the apollo victoria theatre! the apollo is also in the west end..
