i have a 2001 mustang gt v8 and a 2004 expedition... i want to sell my expedition and buy a altima se r again.. i had the stick shift there pretty fast but kinda unreliable... plus fwd is no fun but i really want one again... i think im posting my truck on cl tomorrow haha hope i can find another stick shift altima

V6 or V8 Mustang, it doesn't make a bit of difference stock vs. stock. The SE-R is plenty capable of hanging with a Fourth Generation Mustang GT (Which is the model in this video), and beating it.
@JSics21 lol if GTs are heavy then SERs are cows since the Gt is about 30-40 lb lighter than the SER. You have no idea what you're talking about kid. by the way 99-04 GTs run a 14.5 and SERs run a 14.7 so who's faster? Get your facts right man.
@jfabian7 depends on drivers. I ran 14.5 with a stock SE If I race a GT from a 55 roll I win, if I race from a stop I usually get beat because of traction, a 5 roll I win. But, When the roll starts at 30-45 I get beat. In other words it's close. But, I like my car.

Because my friends SER gives me a lot of trouble to beat when we start from a dig but from a roll he has no chance. Keep in mind that your engine is more sophisticated and thats why you have the same HP as a 4.6 V8 but there's something about having more displacement not to mention the torque which is 302 lb/ft VS like 260.

@carlos081989 I agree all the way. I waited until I was a little over 17 to first get my license, and my first car was a 1990 Volvo station wagon. That was a great vehicle. Then my folks bought a 1997 Pontiac Grand AM SE, and damn, that thing felt so quick in comparison, and I drove that most of the time in High School. We also then bought a 1995 Firebird from some friends, and I thought I'd kill myself in that thing.
@carlos081989 Now I have a 6 SPD Altima SE-R (2006), and it feels as fast to me now, as my Grand AM did when I was 17 (I'm now 25). The most powerful car I've ever driven was a 6 SPD LS2 GTO, and that was only two years ago. I was taught stick on my pop's 1987 Z31, so THAT prepared me for that experience (Thanks to my instructor as well, my Old Man). It takes time to learn how to properly handle these rides.

My fam, up until a few years ago, had an originally owned 1973 Caprice with the monster small block (It only had 50k miles on it), and that was definitely a powerful ride too. I still feel kind of bad about having sold it, but if we hadn't, I most likely wouldn't have my SE-R right now.

Look at any source you want like Motortrend or any other. The Gt is faster. Not that much faster but it is faster. Keep in mind the Gt comes with 302 lb-ft of torque.

The Mustang GT has more TQ, an equal HP rating (Although there is some belief that the SE-R is underrated), is within 5 lbs. of the SE-R (That's the LIGHTEST model of the GT), but has 5 as opposed to 6 gears, and most likely has a different power curve. Altogether, it's a driver's race. Their 0-60 and 1/4 times are right within the ballpark of each other as well. All in all, they're both awesome rides. Much respect.

Since i raced against my friends SE-R i've taken a lot of interest in them. They're very quick and fun to drive ( i've driven my friends SE-R a couple of times)

1- its good. 2- you can't afford one unless you're a spoiled bitch, and spoiled bitches are never good drivers. 3- maintenance/insurance on a fast car? not cheap either. 4- you will not be able to handle a fast car as your first car. noone does. my first car was 200hp and that was plenty. kid i knew had an srt4. rolled it into a tree. get something safe enough and learn to drive well first.
@EnzyteBob117 i couldnt have said it better myself. the altima se-r is not a good first car. dont get a fast car as a first car. i see kids get killed like that all the time. its sad. i started off wit a 96 accord.i didn't get the alti se-r until 6 years later. if u want something fast and 4dr get a 99 maxima SE its by far my favorite car and a great started whip. the insurance on the SE-R was 360 a mth in queens, new york. the maintenance wasnt a problem because it was under full warranty

I have Falken tires on my stang and i believe they are all season tires if im not mistaking. If you own a GT 99-04 you shouldn't have any problem beating an Altima SER BUT BE WARN, THEY ARE VERY FAST AND IF YOU MAKE ANY MISTAKE THEY'LL BEAT YOU.

I have a 2000 Mustang gt and i just raced a nissan altima SER last night. I was scared to put money on the line after looking at different videos of Altimas SER supposely beating mustang gts. That is some BS for real!! Although i respect the Altimas bc they are very fast, they cant beat a mustang gt if both are stock!!! we did five runs and i won all five. So i know for a fact that this guy here is definately not stock.

That's actually correct, a REEEALLY good driver with a short throw will be able to get a stock GT into the high 13's, though most of us average in the low~mid 14's
Why is does everyone assume that it's a v6 mustang? It is most likey a v8. A 98 V8 mustang has 225hp and weighs 3400lbs. An SE-R has 260hp and weighs 3300lbs. A v6 mustang from that era would not be able to hang with an SE-R. They only had 150hp.
Very true, a 98 Mustang dose have 225hp but looking at the tail lights you can obviously see it's a 99+ which =260hp/302tq and is 3241lbs...Even the V6 (same gen) had 193hp/225tq and is 3066lbs.
That seems a little slow for a GT that hits 14 flat in the 1/4, seeing as that would put the Altima in the mid 13s...Not happening with those mods.
Then there's the sound, up till the 5 sec mark unless that's the Altima (which I doubt) At the 31 sec mark, there's no "GT" on the the fender. It's a V6!

pause it at 31's and you can see clear the badge of the pony and not the GT emblem, the 99 GT came with that pony emblem but with no hood scoop and the 2004 V6 came with hood scoop and that pony emblem, 2000 to 2004 came with GT emblem and hood scoop(exept 2000 no hood scoop) and you can clearly hear the v6 and no v8.

i destroyed an 06 v6 stang manual from a stop and from a roll with 5 people in my car. think 3-4 cars by 60 from a stop and bus lengths by 100 from a roll.

Ummm Not really.....Some V6 Stangs had different Mods to them Depending on the Models Year....In 04 the 40th anniversary was changed 3.8 to a 3.9 in the middle of the 04 Models year. Not much of a difference RIGHT ? well If you put the right things in that v6 to replace the Stock parts your V6 will stand a pretty good chance towards others...Kinda like Ummmm MINE.

I've got an 06 SE-R stock and I had a few peeps in the car going against an 04 v6 mustang with a CAI and exaust, and he was alone, and I still stomped him, and that is really nothing to brag about. stock that model only has @220 hp, 3.8 / SE-R @260 3.5, besides his rev limiter cut him out at just over 110mph. The ONLY thing V6 stang has on an SE-R is RWD. If Nissan was thinking they could of perfected that car with limited slip,someone dropped the ball bigfucking time!Not talkin shit just talkin

@EnzyteBob117 i couldnt have said it better myself. the altima se-r is not a good first car. dont get a fast car as a first car. i see kids get killed like that all the time. its sad. i started off wit a 96 accord.i didn't get the alti se-r until 6 years later. if u want something fast and 4dr get a 99 maxima SE its by far my favorite car and a great started whip. the insurance on the SE-R was 360 a mth in queens, new york. the maintenance wasnt a problem because it was under full warranty

@aleksankazakov my first car was 200hp and i also raced all the time vigorously (and won of course) and never got in an accident and blah blah blah. i have countless stories of doing 90 in a 30. don't we all? and i thought it was too slow after a month. point is not everyone is a good driver. most people are more worried about their car's limits than their own so they wreck. EX: my car can go 0-60 in 5.5 seconds so i HAVE to do that! oh shit a turn.... get my point?

I have Falken tires on my stang and i believe they are all season tires if im not mistaking. If you own a GT 99-04 you shouldn't have any problem beating an Altima SER BUT BE WARN, THEY ARE VERY FAST AND IF YOU MAKE ANY MISTAKE THEY'LL BEAT YOU.

I have a 2000 Mustang gt and i just raced a nissan altima SER last night. I was scared to put money on the line after looking at different videos of Altimas SER supposely beating mustang gts. That is some BS for real!! Although i respect the Altimas bc they are very fast, they cant beat a mustang gt if both are stock!!! we did five runs and i won all five. So i know for a fact that this guy here is definately not stock.

Why is does everyone assume that it's a v6 mustang? It is most likey a v8. A 98 V8 mustang has 225hp and weighs 3400lbs. An SE-R has 260hp and weighs 3300lbs. A v6 mustang from that era would not be able to hang with an SE-R. They only had 150hp.

Very true, a 98 Mustang dose have 225hp but looking at the tail lights you can obviously see it's a 99+ which =260hp/302tq and is 3241lbs...Even the V6 (same gen) had 193hp/225tq and is 3066lbs.
That seems a little slow for a GT that hits 14 flat in the 1/4, seeing as that would put the Altima in the mid 13s...Not happening with those mods.
Then there's the sound, up till the 5 sec mark unless that's the Altima (which I doubt) At the 31 sec mark, there's no "GT" on the the fender. It's a V6!

I read everyones comments on this vid and the mustangs had a bad streak from 94 to 99 with their weak 4.6 crap. I own an 87 mustang lx 347 stroker that puts every nissan to shame that I have raced. I give credit to nissan but seriously, V6 for V6 the se-r won because of technology. It's a newer car with better everything than that peace 98 mustang v6! pause it at 31's and you can see clear the badge of the pony and not the GT emblem, the 99 GT came with that pony emblem but with no hood scoop and the 2004 V6 came with hood scoop and that pony emblem, 2000 to 2004 came with GT emblem and hood scoop(exept 2000 no hood scoop) and you can clearly hear the v6 and no v8.

Ummm Not really.....Some V6 Stangs had different Mods to them Depending on the Models Year....In 04 the 40th anniversary was changed 3.8 to a 3.9 in the middle of the 04 Models year. Not much of a difference RIGHT ? well If you put the right things in that v6 to replace the Stock parts your V6 will stand a pretty good chance towards others...Kinda like Ummmm MINE.

I've got an 06 SE-R stock and I had a few peeps in the car going against an 04 v6 mustang with a CAI and exaust, and he was alone, and I still stomped him, and that is really nothing to brag about. stock that model only has @220 hp, 3.8 / SE-R @260 3.5, besides his rev limiter cut him out at just over 110mph. The ONLY thing V6 stang has on an SE-R is RWD. If Nissan was thinking they could of perfected that car with limited slip,someone dropped the ball bigfucking time!Not talkin shit just talkin
