@djkandahar69 the sky is the limit. depends on your ability to sell accounts and make proper recommendations if your a broker for individuals/contacting the public. i work right across the street from the NYSE as junior broker for a broker-dealer. most jobs as a stock broker will pay pure commission others will pay you salary and both. really depends. i know some of the senior brokers i work with now that make 2 or 3 mil a year. it's a tough business to be in and you gotta have a leather skin

Stock markets are like banks. They channel slack money to productive uses. i.e Rich guy has extra money laying around. Puts it all in a mattress where it does no one any good. OR He puts it in stock market, where it gets channeled to companies who use it to build factories, make products, etc. If the companies are profitable, rich guy's money grows.
