I feel God Himself put this book in my hands! I was at a salon trying to avoid my ex's roommate when I picked up a mag and read an excerpt from this book. It was so much like my life that ordered a copy. I was floored by how it mirrored my life. My ex left his 1st wife when she was pregnant and I too, wrote it off as being young/stupid. But today I sit here watching mychildren play. We are alone.I believe God led me to this book to show me that we will find happiness again like Isabel has done
I just read this book today (Jan. 31) It was so interesting. I don't have a similar situation, (thankfully) but because it was so emotionally written, I could relate to her sadness and desolation. I was so angry on her behalf!!! I hope that now that some time has passed that you are in a better place. I'm glad the book spoke to you.
This book reopens personal wounds. Beautifully stirring and very bittersweet. I can't get over how selfish her ex-husband was. I'm glad she has found a better life-partner.
I'm currently reading it right now. I wanted to see Mrs. Isabel Gillies in real life. She's such a sweet heart! I feel bad this happened :( I'm on page... 158 :D
I read this book today. Good read. L8alot is right about the new wife (real name: Laura Bardot, professor of English at Oberlin)...she picked a real loser, and she should be prepared to suffer the same fate as Desales Harrison's first two wives. Hopefully children won't be involved, again.
The harshness of marrying the wrong man ... what a selfesh man though ... but I guess, as hard as it was, it all worked out for the best because she seems happier today. Book is great. I too could not put it down! The 'other woman' truly should be ashamed. I guess the two of them deserve each other.
The book is amazing! I could not put it down!!!! That cold hearted B that took her husband is really in for it....Isabel was the second wife he left with small children for another woman...the first was pregnant when he left her. Some prize!
she is so sweet & cute!

one of my mom's best friend's daughters stole a pregnant wife's husband. I am sure this marriage will not last. It is sad.
