Nice one! Hey everyone! What are your favorite Judo techniques? Leave a comment on my judo video letting everyone know! I want to try starting a conversation on the best Judo throw...It's on my channel, feel free to take a look and join in on the conversation!
Please. I'm BEGGING for the first time in my entire life: Don't let these two-faced NIGGERS rape me for the rest of my natural born life and other people too and take away our ability to speak out and cry for help.
@AlexisBravoTV your different. the guys i spare with dont know jack about grappling and i wreck them. im guess you know how to grapple. im only picking on those who DO NOT grapple.
I never said it couldn't help in a real fight. I was mostly responding to those arguing about judo vs wrestling. My point was that there are plenty of judo throws that would not be executed successfully in a wrestling competition against a decent wrestler. though it still complements well. don't get me wrong, Judo is fantastic and extremely useful. Great for winning a fight without having to strike an opponent.
@evkero there are many throws in Judo where you wouldn't even have to change your grip. Ippon Seoinage is a perfect example. Its just a basic shoulder throw.
@BoxingBadBoy77 one in a million chance of that ever happening, you will be taught how to hit the ground properly before your doing anything like this video, its actually one of the many everyday advantages of knowing judo learning how to hit the ground properly, which when you think about it could actually save you from breaking your neck one day :P just give it a go man all you can do is try don't worry about silly stuff like that.
In the long run I take bjj mma and muai thai but I still wanna join judo just because the take downs it will complete my set of martial arts I have muai thai to box the guy I have judo to take down the opponet I have bjj to submin then I have mma to reck the guy from any angle... with judo bjj and muai thai all combined with mma that would be on incredible art
Your asking this on a judo video. Its going to be biased.
Heres my answer: JUDO.
But seriously. Go to both and see which one you enjoy the most or do both. If you pick the one you least enjoy because thats what people tell you to do it will be very unlikely that you'll stick with it in the long term.
@Pavel13Datsyuk101 i really love judo and im not to experience on it i only have 2 months practicing and i already love this sport... my coach had been practicing judo for over 30 years and he doesnt have any back problem but he did have a broken ankle his knee dislocated but thats the price of practicing judo all i can say is that all is up to you
come on some one help us with the name of those last two throws! i have read no less than like 15ppl asking what the hell the name of those two awesome throws were. yes it looks like a variation of a kata gurama, but i havent ever seen that one and it looks so damn effective. plz post the name of that throw!
Why is it that every single decent Judo video is set to some shitty band. Just show the original video without music, for fucks sake. You do not do Judo justice with this shit.
I've been thinking about going to Judo clases recently, and this may just convince me. I'm not sure if I should do Judo or Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. Being able to throw anybody who messes with you does sound nice though.
Do judo. I used to wrestle and recently started grappling. Started with bjj, which was fun, and I learned some useful stuff; then I started judo classes and there's no comparison. Experienced judo guys can work the subs as well as any bjj player... but they can also throw you on your head. In fact, if you know some judo (or wrestling, even) you've nothing to fear from a bjj player; as good as they are on the ground they won't be able get you there.
hello im starting judo next week and im looking foeward to it alot could some one tell me how rough it is for begginers and will i be able to defend my self against bigger people in the future thank you
@PARAHAWK95 hello, I took Judo as a PE class @ Cumberland College, in the mid 70's. I felt less pain, when Black Betls were throwing me, than when white and green belts were throwing me. Land on your side, using your forearm as a shock absorber.
@PARAHAWK95 it depends of the school you go, but Judo means the soft way so it's not very rough. after a few years training you will be able to defend yourself but believe me, it takes time.
@PARAHAWK95 yes it's possible. it depends of you too when you learn quick and know how to use it in that sort of stuations you will. but the most important thing is to work hard. if you realy want to learn it and train hard allways the same things. you can do those things like breathing. but it will take a few years and yeah then you will beable to defend yourself even against bigger people. in judo you learn to use their power so it's no problem they are big.
Not medical advice @samluke8121 and people interested in throwing sports keep your neck flexible and strong, work with it! And know fighting isn't a natural act! I do folkstyle wrestling but this looks like there could b great risk to the neck especially if not trained properly.
yea wen i 1st got in judo me n my family was like wat kinda self defense is this?! this is pathetic but then after a few months we were like wow this is awsome not just as a self deffense but as a sport--judo all the way =)
Judo is a good vs more than 1 opponent - When your throws have become as reflex, and you will have many throws to use you can take on more than 1 at a time.
A man wont stand up easily after hitting the ground and breaking some bones as he lands, also chokes finish the fight in few seconds if the trow didn't do the trick
umm Judo came from Jujitsu... but once an Ippon is thrown match is over..In real life how ever i have always stated that with a hard throw follow them to the ground and they wont want to fight no more..wont have to submit just land on them lol!!
@madfighter108 good point as well. while strength and/or endurance training is beneficial in ANY athletic competion, sports-specific training is priority numero uno ;)
If you train judo you get all the strength workout whenever you practice with an opponent, so you don't have to go to the gym afterwards. I know it from experience
@wikingagresor naw naw, i gotchu man, totally. all im sayin is that, in a perfect world where you could get any kind of training in that you wanted, another optimal way to isolate and effeciently increase strength would be a free-weight workout----it's not a necessity, but i personally would be inclined to work both on the mat and in the gym---for the record, i don't do judo, but i do practice muay thai and bjj, and i personally like to complement w/ weight training
@mckellion he has practiced it,along with sumo.Anderson has practiced it also,it helps takedown defense and balance, and their are contenders that have practiced Judo.I know wat im talking about so dont talk to me like im some person thats new to mma and martial arts
listen someone said judo is the best sport ever, when its clearly MMA which shows which the best martial art is... which really is a combination of 2 or 3 arts and lets face it what i was saying was that JUDO isnt 1 of them... the you come along and say ohh lyoto blah blah blah does it...
when he really doesnt yes he's maybe had a bit of training sure but what you said had no point to my arguement with the original statement
@mckellion MMA is the practice of multiple artsu take good things from martials and combine them together to make ur own style,I bet u didnt know anderson to capoiera?he tooks it for understanding distance and using reach.Judo is great for balance and takedown defense.
@mckellion you said Judo is useless,in ur first post I read fine im not a child,I took ap english classes all through high school,so don't talk about reading.just shutup and go away this argument is to old
@mckellion I think you mean type of arts... and that would be grappling and striking...and maybe submissions would be a branch off of grappling that cud be considered its own....But there are hundreds, if not, thousands of martial arts....
not to make any enemys but, Krnaxe if you were saying that judo is easy you must be mentaly impaired becasue it took me 10 years to get my second degree black in judo , it was honestly the hardest thing to ever do in my life. If i had a choice of doing judo all over again or being shot in the face i'll tell jesus you said hi.if you want to be a badass fighter the 4 styles you want to learn are muay thai for your stand up, judo and wrestling for your takedowns and throws, and australian ju- jitsu
personaly i am a 10th grade dan witch means i an of the most elite in judo i think that jiu jitsu is more often used as a show sport and is rarely practical for self defense
@judoproblack360 There have only been 15 people promoted to 10th dan all time, and only 3 are living right now. I really doubt that you are one of them.
hey im in wrestling and im in varsity as a 9th grader and i've been wrestling for like 3 years do u think i would learn judo or BJJ better and which one would be easier to learn with wrestling..?
Definitely judo, i am in the exact same situation as you except i have been taking judo for 3 years as well as wrestling and the styles mesh together perfectly. A lot of the throws can be used in freestyle wrestling and some can be used as takedowns in folkstyle wrestling. In BJJ you deal with ground game on your back a lot and with submissions, which doesnt mix well with wrestling. With judo you learn submissions and the manipulation of weight and using leverage. Which in hindsight helps more.
Well you've already got the takedown aspect down with wrestling. Why don't you do jiu jitsu to compliment your wrestling? Jiu jitsu concentrates on ground fighting alot more than judo (usually)
well the thing is BJJ it is ok to be on your back and wrestling it is not. So you would freak out and have to re learn a couple things. So Judo would be easier however i feel BJJ would be more useful to you because you would learn more on what to do to your opponent or enemy once you got him on the ground. Which you already know how to do because of your wrestling. And Wrestling will help you a lot in BJJ. But easier go with Judo .
Let the Judo guy thro the jiu jitsu guy to the floor. Thats where the jiu jitsu guy wants to be on the floor where he dominates. So that when the judo guy jumps on top of him after, he is in trouble!
I like how a lot of these guys end up in non-dominant positions on the ground. What's the point of taking someone down if you lose control?

@judoproblack360 There have only been 15 people promoted to 10th dan, and only 3 are living now. I really doubt that you are one of them...

hey im in wrestling and im in varsity as a 9th grader and i've been wrestling for like 3 years do u think i would learn judo or BJJ better and which one would be easier to learn with wrestling..?
magic2224 2 years ago
Definitely judo, i am in the exact same situation as you except i have been taking judo for 3 years as well as wrestling and the styles mesh together perfectly. A lot of the throws can be used in freestyle wrestling and some can be used as takedowns in folkstyle wrestling. In BJJ you deal with ground game on your back a lot and with submissions, which doesnt mix well with wrestling. With judo you learn submissions and the manipulation of weight and using leverage. Which in hindsight helps more.
Rng3rboi 2 years ago
Well you've already got the takedown aspect down with wrestling. Why don't you do jiu jitsu to compliment your wrestling? Jiu jitsu concentrates on ground fighting alot more than judo (usually)
jebus733 2 years ago
@magic2224
well the thing is BJJ it is ok to be on your back and wrestling it is not.
I currently do BJJ
~good luck.

Let the Judo guy thro the jiu jitsu guy to the floor. Thats where the jiu jitsu guy wants to be on the floor where he dominates. So that when the judo guy jumps on top of him after, he is in trouble!
futballa910 2 years ago
That's when you kick Jiu Jitsu guy in the face with steel-toe boots.
