I tried this out tonight. It was amazing! I used mint instead of dill and skipped the cumin powder... but I think I really out did you Chef ;) by searing the fish on a skillet before I put it in the oven. Great crispy coating and soft flesh!
Thank you for your wonderful recipes and truly inspiring watching you cook with such passion for good food!
3:54 yeah, fresh off the boat foreigners can be cry babies.. no taste adventure with them and they miss mama's cooking for years, years... before they are properly rooted in a country and start trying new cuisines.
@amrita0286 When u live abroad as a foreigner AND u have adventurous taste buds, u will find that u don't want to be associated with the other pussy foreigners (the fresh off the boat ones). There are really 2 types of foreigners here. Those who adapt and are no longer foreigners and the truly fussy foreigners (like indians, whereever they go).
I am one of those who doesn't like the taste of cilantro that much, but you put it in almost everything, vahchef. I believe there is a gene that determines whether you like cilantro or not!
you are the best Mr. Sanjay !! awesome ! I wish you all the success --- hope you are making good money so that you can continue with your awesome show. You have really inspired me to cook.........Thanks again.
Chef, can I use a fillet of, say, Salmon by rubbing the marinade on it instead of using a whole fish? I understand that obviously the fish will not be "closed" as in your recipe.
chef can u plz post how to choose good fish to prepare sometimes even if you buy fish and cook it it has a very strong unpleasant fishy taste and ppl dont like it can u please post how to purchase fresh fish that has no smell and tastes good. Like tips to know if the fish is fresh or not.

If I ccan, will the marinade become too dry?

But Chef.. As you told.. most of the Indians are used to the spicy fish curry or fry..including me..;)
Can u pls tell/show us whether we can broil instead of frying the fish in oil.? with the same spices as of fish fry, but in oven?
I have tried it a couple of times, but the spices taste raw.though the fish gets cooked.
and here in US as you know compared to chicken and other meat..fish is so expensive that we cant afford to experiment..
