  • Perfect song for the US Obama administration right now!

  • it is a great song but would be better without the sax solo ;) But the message is still current.

  • great song. thanks for the post

  • Maybe that was The Fixx's manager trying to stop them from playing in the video?

  • Their first release is PERFECT!

  • Great song, very relevant lyrics in an age where our freedoms are under constant attack. Heard this song on our local radio station today, thank god that some good can still be heard on the radio today!

  • The Fixxx should SOUND this good...but they don't.

  • "Gee, guys! I have an idea! Let's try to sound like The Fixx !" Cy Curnin should be allowed to bitch-slap these guys.

  • the guitarist from this band is my guitar teacher.. no joke

  • 6 people are afraid of ghosts.

  • Singer has first stages of skullet forming.

  • @Yowie9644 ALBUM FTW

I'm not even old enough and I still say it.

  • @Yowie9644 and what they say is still true. We miss the message...well....most do

  • This is a very powerful song! Not only are the lyrics about censorship brilliant, from Kingdoms to Corporations, but the music is passionate and resonates the soul.

Thank you for posting this. I had not heard this in over at least 20 years. I used to have this on cassette when it came out, but someone ripped it off. Son of bitch, haha...

  • A song that predicted what is happening today.

  • I dunno' ~ I STILL feel this song refers to *Relationships* ~ past, present & future.... dead or alive?! :-D Nuff' said.

  • Essentially a duo when Frozen Ghost started out, ex SHERIFF members Lanni and Hassel, for their last album "Shake Your Spirit" enlisted the help of Phil X (Harleguin, Triumph) and John Bouvette (Ian Crichton solo).

Lanni also became a fine producer, producing albums by Canadian bands like Simple Plan, and Our Lady Peace. Also US rockers Kings X.

Poppy aor with a Canadian twist.

  • @ROBERTVANJOVI ...Thanks. I always thought that there was a connection with Sheriff and Frozen Ghost. Saw Sheriff at a pub/strip bar in Scarborough back in 85' or so...

  • Amazing singer.

  • A song that should be remade today! I love this groups music and own all of their music.

  • Kind of sounds like The FIxx (Cy Curnin)

  • wow havent heard this song in forever! good song

  • What a freaking amazing song! One of the greatest saxophone solos of all-time! I was born in the wrong decade, why couldn't I have lived in the '80s?

  • @DirectCollision I did grow up in the 80's and wish to god I could go back.

  • @ibeacowboy

Can I go back to please, music is crap now

  • @fjislander i agree man what happen to music its all sh@t now

  • @DirectCollision I agree. There was a LOT of GREAT music in the 80's!!

  • @DirectCollision I lived in the 80's here in Prince Albert,SK-GREAT DECADE FOR MUSIC!

  • Reminds me of how liberals want to control everything we do.

  • I remember buying this cassette in like '87. What happened to them?

  • @MrKikbxer I had the CD, too. (Actually, I had TWO of their CDs.)

  • Does anyone know where I can find an MP3 download of this song??? Can't find it at either Itunes or amazon!

  • just convert the video to mp3

  • Great video. I posted to my protest song playlist. If you haven't heard it, check out 'Mutual Surrender' by Bourgeois Tagg.

  • @wilde1music

    God I remember BT!

  • Second time I hear it on the radio during the same week!!

  • nothing like reliving the 80s, woo hoo, great tune, way to go canada,,

  • the 80s turned out a few good Canadian bands. Frozen Ghost was one of them.

    Great song...

  • holy effin mullet!!

  • I remember this... Guess i haven't burned all the brain cells

  • just looked up arnold lanni, he produced for OLP and Finger Eleven among other canadian bands

  • great bass kine...like always from the ghost

  • which one is arnold lanni?

  • he is singing like he's PISSED OFF! "How DARE they put me in a music video! And why is it Wolf still has most of his hair!?"

  • Great to 'hear and see' again!

  • Yeah the words do sound like Harper telling us once again what we must do...like reply to your comment all governments really...:-(

  • This song makes me think of what our Canadian government is doing right now.

  • Try every government... everywhere...

It best to stay informed = always!

  • Sounds more like my ex-wife to me.

  • @WilliamHBonney55

dont' forget usa ..... and especially right now... ppl are being arrested for filming the gulf situation... bp has private hired security arresting ppl.....

  • @WilliamHBonney55

    yep, screwing the dog!!!

  • @WilliamHBonney55 what about the American government, 2011 I am totally in disapproval of obama and his agenda

  • This band was a one hit wonder, but boy was this a great song.

A song with a message, never conform to others beliefs and thoughts.

You are entitled to your thoughts and opinions.

  • Frozen Ghost was far from a one hit wonder

  • Great song!

This particular song always reminded me of The Fixx, as the vocals are very Cy Curnin-esque.

  • FYI -

Frozen Ghost is the debut album of the band Frozen Ghost, released in 1987. Its first single, "Should I See" (a song about censorship) made it to #69 on the Billboard Hot 100.

The run-out groove of side two on the LP contains unintelligible speech. When played backwards, a voice says, "You are ruining your needle!"

  • thanks for posting....this song rocked 20 years ago and is still amazing

  • Sounds like The Fixx

  • on the album there was a backwards message at the end i spun the record backwards and it said your ruining your needle arnold lanni is a funny guy

  • LOVE THIS BAND-- OMG!! are those shoulder pads?

  • Frozen Ghost ROCKS !

    :)

  • Gotta love the aesthetics of the Eighties... :-) The bass player is a fashion criminal !

That being said, the song's just so good.

  • I LOVE THIS SONG!Im so glad I found it on here. Thanks for posting.Started playing on the radio at the same time Tipper Gore & friends started the PMRC in the U.S.(the Parental Advisory sticker on your CD's 1984-86-ish)I taped the song off the radio back then, but wasn't for sure who actually sang it til about 1yr1/2 ago.Bought the CD on eBay when I figured out who it was.

Cheers to such a great song.Dont let the Government Censor.Censorshit is bullshit. If you dont like it,dont listen to it. :)

  • "Cheers to such a great song.Dont let the Government Censor.Censorshit is bullshit. If you dont like it,dont listen to it."

AMEN!! Truer words will NEVER be said!!

  • and Bill C-51!!!!

  • This song is dedicated to Canada's bill C61 lol!

  • This song is dedicated to Canada's C61 lol!

  • Looks like the guitar players got their sweaters from the Cosby Show. Ugh. Love the song though. Have'nt heard it since the 80's. :D

  • Love those Canadian's! HOT....

  • A certified, vintage CLASSIC blast from the past!!!

  • This song hits it right on the spot. Censorship is bullshit- it doesn't work.

  • i remember seeing this video on "COLORSOUNDS'. thanks, kurdtss, thanks a lot!

  • YESSSSS, thank you for posting this, I cant believe someone else remebered this song. Growing up outside Rochester,NY, I was able to pick up Q107FM from Toronto, this was in heavy rotation back in the summer of '87. Havent heard it since until today. Long Live Canadian Rock!!!

  • Wow. Someone else knows who Out of the Grey, Poor Old Lu & Echoing Green are!! I found Frozen Ghost on accident & fell in love with their music. I wrote them one time to tell them how much I liked their music & I got a postcard back with the autographs of Wolf Hassel & Arnold Lanni. That was pretty cool.

  • One of my all-time favorite Canadian bands. I don't know what it was/is about Canadian rock, but I've always loved it! Classic stuff! Must dig out the CD again!

  • I never heard this song anywhere other than MTV. Definitely an underrated song and still timely today. Long live Canadian power pop!

  • Us/Canadian border listener here: A DJ friend of mine told me that their songs can no longer be played in the US due to copyright. He said that when they changed over to "Sheriff," that the rights went with one of the other members. Never found out if this was true. Hell... great band in any case. Long live the Canadian music!

  • Actually,I'm speaking of the US mostly, maybe some of these groups are popular overseas;some more- the wipers, echoing green,Eloy, anybody remember or know these bands?

  • How come so many good groups never make it in mainstream radio/End of Green,My Dad is dead,Dreadful Shadows,Xymox,The almighty,Out of the grey,Poor Old Lu,Iris,Ikon,Xandy Barry,Sentenced, mind in a box,Cesium 137,-by the way this is a combination of rock, metal, christian pop and dance, electronic music.

  • Censorship?.. It's like "men at work" with "Gowin"

  • just joking, excellent song.

  • tteh lp record for this had a backwards message at the end of side two i spun the album backwards and it said "your ruining your needle" good stuff... anyway i wrote arnold lanni and told him it ruined the bands on my belt drive ...he wrote me back and said sorry lol anyhow he now produces forartists like our lady peace and finger 11

  • cover my eyes and ears! go and watch Bill hicks!!!!!

  • ii mean the guitar with the stripes by the bridge looks like an alembic or the aria.

  • @cliffdimerandy the bass he's playing in the studio set is a Spector...they were very popular in the mid- to late-eighties.

  • that looks like either an aria pro or an alembic spoiler bass. im guessing an alembic

  • I found this awesome old tape in my collection and asked XM80's to play it. Kandy didn't know if she could find it. Thanks so much for providing this video and now I have a link. End Of The Line was another fav. I remember seeing them live as they were the opening act for the Howard Jones Dream Into Action tour which we saw at Red Rocks Colorado. AWESOME!!

  • I'd always heard that the mullet was the official hair of Canada.

Kickass song, haven't heard in 20 years.

  • Hey Kurdtss, do you have "promises", "Pauper In Paradise" and "Dream Come True" please upload then if you have them, thanks Kurdtss

  • thank you Kurdtss for uploading this video, you are awesome

  • Do you have Kum Bai Ya and Beware the Masque? Great stuff, kurdtss :)

  • I apologize if someone has already answered this question, but what type of Bass is Hassel using? Wal? Steinberger?

  • The singer's voice is so good, the music sounds awsome and the video... I can appreciate, when I see it, the evolution of this art disciplin.

  • Kurdtss, you are a person after my own heart. I grew up in the 80's and I STILL think that decade had the best music. Cheers.

  • thanks to youtube for having a Frozen Ghost-Should I see video. This is one of my personal fave 80's music since it came out last 1986. I remember a friend of mine (John M.) who's a discjock from Y101-FM. He played this track first when it debut the charts in 1986. It's an exclusive music heard only on their FM station here in the Philippines. He still plays it until now on a radio program called Friday Gold Rush (80's best music).John M definetly knows his music

  • Great video, thanks for posting. The bass guitar in this song is truly "wicked"

  • They made THREE abums? Christ, where have I been - the S/T is AWESOME!!!! Thank God for youtube - I had never seen a FrozenGhost video B4!!

  • well, this is your lucky day because now you can see most of their music videos & later listen 2 the 1s that had no video if you type frozenghostsongs in the youtube search box.(if the search fails, type frozenghost-end of the line & click on the account name.)

  • i know him

  • When I think of UNDER-RATED bands of the 80s I think of 'HoneyMoon Suite' - 'Icehouse' and 'Frozen Ghost'. I have their first 2 albums on cassette. I dig them out from time to time and trip back to the days of great music....bad hair...but great music. Did I mention that I graduated AND got married with a mullet? These days I;m just glad I still HAVE hair. ;-P

  • I must have missed the 3rd record, I was on the road full time at that point :-)

  • Wolf was a wicked bassist, he wrote some bangin' grooves on the 2 Frozen Ghost records.

  • Actually, there was three...Frozen Ghost(1986), A Nice Place to Visit(1988), and Shake Your Spirit(1991). Wolf was gerat on bass though. It remains to be seen how good Wolfie Van Halen will be on bass, replacing Michael Anthony. At least Diamond Dave is/was/will be back...maybe.

  • I had the first 2, I must have missed the third record :-)I was on the road playing full time at that point. As for VH, I enjoyed Van Hagar much more then the Diamond Dave years. Balance was a great record, I really don't think they have much left to offer. All guitar players think it's easy to play bass and anyone can do it, I guess they figure it's only 4 strings, how hard can it be?

  • There wasn't much of notice on the third record. Head Over Heels did okay on the charts, but it was too much like Dream Come True (Amazing Song!) as far as I'm concerned. Best with Sammy was OU812, but let's not talk about VHIII with Gary Cherone.

  • Who's Gary Cherone...LOL...did VH actually put out a record with him...lol. I think Gary Cherone is doing a duet with Ray Wilson (the last lead singer of Genesis) titled "killers of great bands." Anyways Frozen ghost was good. I'm requesting "Pauper of Paradise." It was taken off you tube.

  • Gary (of Extreme..er....fame) did sing on the 1996-97 CD Van Halen III (hard to find now). Although he wasn't officially inducted with the band a couple of weeks ago into the Hall Of Fame, it was nice Sammy and Michael (the only two members of VH to show up) mentioned his contribution to the band. Ray Wilson did a good job with Genesis on the 'Calling All Stations' CD, but it was hard to follow up Phil Collins and Peter Gabriel.

  • The video looks extremely dated especially everyone in the band sporting mullets even the lead singer with the "balding mullet" ...LOL..

All kidding aside the message of the song is not out of date .especially in today's society where Bush is trying to create a "police state" in the USA and his spin doctors are busy at work lying to the world about thier crimes in Iraq .

Sad to see in the past 20 years since this video was made somthings are still the same ?

  • Wow--I've requested Round and Round!

  • Wow--I've requested Round and Round!

  • Loved this song! Any more Frozen Ghost videos?

  • This is an excellent song. One of those I'd heard on the radio, but had no idea what it was. It bugged me for months, but stumbled on this by chance and it is great.

  • wow

  • This song kicks ASS!

  • Glad Sheriff broke up, or we never would have had Frozen Ghost...but then it also spawned Alias too...oh well.

  • C'mon, Alias wasn't that bad.

  • I was waiting for this video to be put on sometime. I absolutely love the song, so I had this hunger for the video and the result did not disappoint.

  • i was waiting so long 4 some1 to put this up

    thx for the video

  • I love this song!Powerful is how I would describe it. Remember when music had something to offer?

  • And bands actually played real music?
