I've seen every neck shot kill faster than any other shot including through the heart. If you shoot and get penetration the animal isn't gonna make it both are just as deadly. As for the author of the video good job you got you deer and that's what counts
Yea...bowhunters are supposed to be the most ethical hunters. You would never see a world class hunter shoot a deer with a bow at that angle. Only an immature kill minded brat would take that shot. You seriously give bowhunters a bad image. Your lack of patience will cost you in the end.
I neck shot a doe last year with my Mathews Z7 with a 2 blade rage. Dropped her instantly. I didn't spine or paralyze her either. There are so many main arteries and veins that come out of the brain, that when you shoot a broadhead such as a rage into the neck cavity approximately 8-14 inches below the head, it almost instantly cuts off fresh blood supply to the head, and drains the brain of fresh oxygenated blood. She dropped less than a yard from where I shot her.
I like how everybody keeps saying "Nice Shot". It wasn't a nice shot you hit it in the neck at like maybe 30 yards, that was way off! Poor shot placement, go practice some more. You are giving huntings a bad name, that deer probably took 30 minutes or more to die, IF you found it, not an ethical shot.
@Evileyes1974 The best shot is right behind the shoulder. A double lung or heart shot. If he aimed for that area he would've hit the right shoulder which would make the deer die even slower. A neck shot is the second best and most ethical shot in this situation. It would've been better if he let it turn sideways, but by that time it will have probably ran away.
It cracks me up when people comment on things, and they know nothing about it. Hunting especially, do you people not realize, that if we hunters didn't harvest game animals there would be more and more deer vs car accidents?? That there would be an outbreak of disease because of over populated habitats?? @deepfriedking not even close, with a bow, the bleeding is what kills the animal, thats why a vital shot is always the quickest, efficient and humane way to harvest a deer, even on a missed not well placed shot with an arrow the deer can heal and survive, with a rifle/shotgun as well with bow SHOT PLACEMENT is everything! and with a firearm you need to hit vitals, granted a headshot or neck shot is the way to go, but a spine or back shot will 9 times out of 10 just paralyze the animal

@MrSulinator11 the only way to kill anything instantly with a bow is usually a heart shot. A lung shot will drop them but generally they're still alive for a few seconds after that. Unfortunately, I'm sure the deer experiences some sort of pain. As this video shows, hunters do their best to perform a kill shot. Hunter safety classes will ALWAYS advocate a humane kill as part of a successful hunt.

I be k shot will kill a deer just as fast as a heart shot. The only difference is it seems they run farther when hit in the kill shot.
