I wish they could take the stage, play this song at the music awards, and kick the hip-hop garbage in the balls and remind the world what real music sounds like! Blow all the no talent assclowns out of the building!!
One kick ass song. This is one I have never gotten tired of or will ever get tired of. One of the great songs of rock. Thank you Tommy Conwell for this awesome song. God bless you brother.
@3musicmakers I beg to differ. I'm looking at the original vinyl 12" lp of "Walkin' On The Water" (from 1986 on Antenna Records) right now. The version in this video is not the original that many of us in the Philly area refer to as the "original". The version on the lp I'm referring to is more raw, and doesn't have the over-produced cowbell through the entire song.
@3musicmakers Actually the original is on the "Walkin' On The Water" LP on Antenna Records from 1986. It was the same local label that released The Hooters' "Amore" LP before they were signed to Columbia.
This is the re-record version from the "Rumble" LP in 1988.
This was shot at the 23 East Cabaret in Ardmore PA. I remember seeing them there and the other cabarets when it was just Tommy, Jimmy, and Paul. Nothing beat the raw energy of just the three of them. Then Cornerstone got to them, castrated them, and turned them into Tommy Conwell and the Young Hooters. Oh well.
@ProfessorEggflesh I used to walk to 23 East Caberet and see so many cool bands and get drunk and walk home after a night of listening to PA rock and roll.
Awesome! I wish they'd re-release the "Walkin' On Water" album on cd or, in any format for that matter. I wish I'd never gotten rid of it when I decided to sell my cassettes. I don't think they ever printed that album after the first run.
@JohnnyRichard Reminds me of John Cougar in the early years, He mellowed a bit too much later on. Play the Guitar though, a kindred song. I got this album on cassette! haha
@phillygirl5968 apparently this is the song that got them a gold record...how do I know this? because Tommy was at my uncle's house tonight for the big 4th of july party he throws

Cool song. I opened for Chris Day years ago. Wish the Philly rock scene didn't die after the late 80s

This was back when MTV still played videos and radio wasn't a audio hellhole.
I remember sitting in traffic trying to get to my 730am class on time listening to this CD.

Few, if any. Basic rock-n-roll, it is becoming a lost art.

Love this song. Wish I could get a copy of the original version that they used to play on MMR before the band signed with Columbia Records.

@punkrckgrl68 I'm lucky enough to still have the original on vinyl and still think that version is better than this one.
