Well, that's what I thought but I've had several people tell me the pups only had a 50 to 75% of carrying the choc gene. I just want to know for sure with these 2 guys as I'd really like to keep them to try to produce chocolate harlequins!
chocolate harlequins sound beautiful! the good news is the pups definitely carry chocolate if the father was chocolate! since chocolate is recessive, it means the father had two copies of the chocolate gene. the only thing he could possibly pass on to the puppies is chocolate because that's all he has to give.
Yippie! both my harl boys were tested and DO carry the chocolate gene!

if the father or mother of the litter was chocolate 100% of the puppies will carry for chocolate. there's no need to have them tested.
