I respect your opinion, but I have seen him play many times and I think I have a pretty good idea of what he is capable of. I think he is good but overrated. For me, he was definitely not one of our top D-Men. Markov, Gorges, Hamrlik, Schneider (although he is much older) and even Bouillon were in my opinion superior players. But I guess time will tell us who has it right.

I have been saying this for a long time, it has nothing to do with him signing in TO. I was actually hoping that Ganey would not offer over 3.5M$ for Komi. You are right though, he did lead the team with blocked shots and hits. Only problem is it takes more than that to be a good d-man. Komi is a sub-par puck handler, he is not a good skater, has a tendency to turn the puck over and contributes precious little to the offence.
I did forget to mention the guy has a great attitude on and off the ice. But again, it did not make up for his lack of skill and I think that is why Gainey did not try any harder to sign him. Let's wait and see what happens. Who knows, maybe he will be able to improve his game a bit while in TO.
Brian Burke is amazing. Komisarek, Schenn, Exelby, and Finger make our defense awesomely tough and gritty. We don't know what's going to happen with Kaberle yet, but if we keep him, he and White will round off our blueline well with their offensive abilities.

I respect your opinion, but I have seen him play many times and I think I have a pretty good idea of what he is capable of. I think he is good but overrated. For me, he was definitely not one of our top D-Men. Markov, Gorges, Hamrlik, Schneider (although he is much older) and even Bouillon were in my opinion superior players. But I guess time will tell us who has it right.

I have been saying this for a long time, it has nothing to do with him signing in TO. I was actually hoping that Ganey would not offer over 3.5M$ for Komi. You are right though, he did lead the team with blocked shots and hits. Only problem is it takes more than that to be a good d-man. Komi is a sub-par puck handler, he is not a good skater, has a tendency to turn the puck over and contributes precious little to the offence.
