This ride had to go. Not because it wasn't a good ride (although I didn't like it). It had to go because it was one of several "off the shelf generic rides", that made California Adventure look cheap. Fortunately, DCA is starting to look more like a Disney theme park, and not a cheap traveling carnival.
@dughmo yeah i agree, it was alot of fun, i went on it so many times, but it would be far too dangerous to try to redo it and it would probably cost more
i say they should put it up for sale. maybe it could get sent to six flags great adventure, we definetly need a launch/drop tower.
btw is the first pic of the new ride dca will be getting? cuz if it is i hope it doesnt get too windy over there or else itll hardly be open. ive never been so i dont know how the weather is like but im sure they took that into consideration.
@MrThemeParkAudios ahh thats a dissapointment. parachute rides are fun but im sure they realized how much trouble building and running one, especially with three towers would be. most likely only a few of the chutes would be running on each of the towers, capacity would be low and weather would affect it quite a bit.
@rollercoastersrock Ahem, there is already another launch/drop tower in DCA that's not goin' anywhere anytime soon. The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror. It's basically a better version of the shitty Maliboomer.
@Benstudio13 The tower of terror can be thought of as a drop tower, but not the conventional one that Maliboomer was. A normal drop tower goes up, drops down while a normal launch tower shoots up and lowers slowly back to the ground. Maliboomer was a generic S&S Power Space Shot. Any park can buy one, unlike the tower of terror which is a WDI custom design. It is part tower, part dark ride.
I will miss this thrilling ride :=(((
