I was looking up this song so I could learn it. A friend asked me to play on harmonica at her funeral. I love your version of it on the Uke. Thanks so much for posting it. You are an inspiration.
todd: I notice that you use the capo very extensively. Is there are reason why you prefer doing this more than doing barred chords? I did a quicklist of all of your songs yesterday. Thanks for many good songs and frugal information. Where do you find music for the old folksongs. I like your UKULELE BREAK TIME sign. This is a very sweet sounding song. HumbleUker
re: songs....i'm a scavenger :) I surf itunes, go to the local library, used record stores, and learn them from other musicians....
re: capo....no real reason, I just find a key that fits my singing voice and if i have a particular chord pattern that I want to use open chords on....i'll use the capo
if i can help you in any other way, let me know :)
Thanks James.....it'll be a musical weekend as I go to the funeral.....my cousin was a good singer, his sister also, and his brother a guitarist.....so i'm sure i'll be busting out the uke and songleading a little :)
What a fine way to memorialize your cousin. I guess music is where a musician turns when pain comes. I hope your pain ends, and the fond memories never do.
thanks so much for commenting....i really just wanted to do some something nice in his memory and this song came to mind in light of the copious tears that have been shed on his behalf....thank you so much for the kind wishes....
tutorial please

I can't tell, do you use a high or low G string? If it's low, is it wound?
tridium007 2 years ago
Hi,
this is a baritone uke tuned, D,G, B, E, i've got a capo on second fret and yes, the 3rd and fourth strings are wound....
hope this helps :)
