and going half way through the range of motion accomplishes what? plus why are you doing so many reps, are you training for endurance performance in your chest?

The push ups that you're talking about are for faster punches, used primarily by martial artists. In fact, if you can lift your upper body off the floor and control your descent by gently going down by the time you land, you'll get the best results.

Only if you're eating more calories than you burn. If there are no calories to build muscle, it won't happen.
Girls that bulk up just need to eat less, unless they want to be bulky.
