A Soldier's job is to protect democracy, not to practice it. Troops are constitutionally bound by their duty to obey orders from the President of the United States, and that's about the extent of it.
army vet, I understand, if possible though, you or soldiers who served there, when you're back home in the states, should let your voice be heard as to what you think of the Afghanistan mission (worth it, not worth it, not enough troops, whatever). Some people might take advantage of your silence to sell a soldier talking to Congress as representative of what most soldiers think.
That's the risk we take. My way of making my views known to others is by using my YT page as an outlet. Like I said, I disagree with my fellow Veteran Reyes, but I'm very happy he got to make his views known to the Congress. I assure you I try to take as much advantage of every opportunity to be heard as I can... };-)

I did 2 tours in Viet nam and was, in fact, in Viet Nam when Kerry testified before Congress. I did not see what Kerry testified about in my 2 years in the field. I am an honest man. Only 4 of them supported him and all but 2 of the rest stood against him...and he was only there 4 months. The 2 remained neutral. Kerry got a purple heart that his commander said was not deserved over an incident that the men in the boat with him didn't remember. He claimed to have gone to cambodia when he was never there. He applied for a purple heart and the application was rejected by his commanding officer. The other 2 men said that they didn't remember getting fired upon. In fact the Vietnam, Afghanistan, & Iraq Wars weren't "mistakes:", they were planned by those governing the U.S.A. and no, not the government. I'm talking about the elites who trully rule this country, the Rockefellers, the Bilderberg Group, the federal reserve, the banksters and the military industrial complex. They pushed for these wars for one thing: More Power. Now we have army bases surrounding Russia, Iran, and all countries that don't agree w/ us. Google the word Zeitgeist (documentary)

The federal reserve is a PRIVATE bank that charges a % interest on each dollar it prints out and loans it out to our government to fund their projects.
The more money it prints, the more profit it makes, and the less the value of the currency, additionally the taxes we pay are used to pay this debt to the bankers who own the Fed, most taxpayers do not know that we're borrowing our own money.
We should be printing our OWN money, and ABOLISHING the Federal Reserve, and stop paying the bankers.

maybe safe would start by better protecting out ports and borders? The Southern border of the US was left WIDE open for 6 years after 9/11. Instead of protecting our borders, we invade other countrys. One cannot help but wonder what the true objective is here and if terrorist attacks are of real concern. After all, our government considers anyone who defies them to be a terrorist. Even if you are a proud supporter of the US constitution.

Obama is a liar when he says he's pulling the troops from Iraq. Just today terrorists killed over 70 people in homicide bombings. If B.O. does pull the troops, he'll just move them to Afghanistan and/or Pakistan where many of our troops will likely be killed. Even Hillary is worried about the terrrorists getting their hands on Pakistans nukes. B.O. is setting up Armageddon for sure.

Another point: What would our own history in America be like if some foreign country had invaded us (supposedly to bring about stability) during our own internal uprisings, including the Revolution itself, as well as the Civil War? If we were defending our shores from tyrants, to protect the liberty and freedom we are supposed to have according to our Constitution, then let there be war. But to continue to police the world through wars, in an attempt to spread the disease of capitalism, will only cause to rise the very tyrants we will be forced to defend our shores against. This created the tyrants that brought about 9-11 (still questionable), this creates new tyrants, and rightfully so.
