  • Ha ha, Keneally is awesome, but looks like weird Al here.

  • Check her out with the "Missing Persons". A few good ones.........

  • Dale there was pregnant ;)

  • Damn! But I just the girl would have learn the words.

  • Dale was great on Joe's Garage. Too bad she muffed up the lyrics throughout this performance.

  • Dale baby you're STILL hot...but what's Weird Al doing up there????????

  • @jonsilence That's Mike Keneally, Zappa's "stunt guitarist"

  • Dale sounds off that night..

  • How often do you see a green strat!!

  • This is Dale Bozzio, the lead singer of iconic 80's band, Missing Persons. Her former husband, Terry, world-renowned drummer, used to play for Zappa.

  • Recorded November 7 and 8 1991 at the Ritz, NewYork

    Mike kenelly-guitar, keyboards, vocals

    Mats Obery-keyboards, piano, vocals

    Scott Thunes-bass,vocals

    Morgan Agren-drums

Steve vai à la guitare ....Rocapella Orchestra ... Compositions par Frank Zappa

    Hen Hao !!!!

  • The Dolphin plays for beers here!

Go see the Mike Keneally Band with The Bryan Beller Band with the Joe Travers Band and the Rick Musallam Band when they open for the Stumpy in the Stencil Forest Band. Much fun and some math to be had. Prizes give for the best slide rule. Prizes are at the discretion of the judges......

  • Hell, Mike Kneally on guitar...great stuff.

  • Here's Dale doing what she does best: sucking! I liked Missing Persons but what pushed Frank to hire her is beyond me.

Mike is doing very very well here IMHO.

Anybody knows who the rest of the band are? They're good, they're obviously not FZ, but still.

  • @mirzamarco Terry pushed it.

  • @mirzamarco She was pregnant at the time of this performance, that's why she's not singing so well. When Dale was sixteen she met Frank Zappa backstage at a club. Frank liked her voice and he cleary thought she could sing or else he wouldn't have put her on his albums. He thought her voice would make her a household name. He was very particular about who his musicians were.

  • @CNSagent Since when does pregnancy affect your memory and vocal chords? Clearly she was not prepared. Frank would have been disappointed.

  • @declanp1 Frank saw her performance. HE thought it was great. And, whatever mistakes that were made, trust me, it was because she was pregnant.

I know this for a fact, I'm the individual she was pregnant with during that performance.

  • @CNSagent If that's true, I stand corrected. Also, that's pretty cool!!! How's your mom doing? When was this concert? I though Frank had already passed?

  • @declanp1 She's doing pretty well. She has a summer tour coming up, with Warren Cucurullo.

I believe this performance was in November '91 -- truth be told, Dale can only remeber how bad the weather was, and the year. I'm basing the date on captainmelio's reply to dojonane.

Frank passed away in '93. I was born in March '92.

    Peace.

  • @CNSagent So wait, Dale is your mom?!?!?!?!

  • @CNSagent I'm stealing that line. Like the next time someone says "wow, Britney Spears was a mess last at the awards show." Now, I'll just say "Don't blame her, she's pregnant with my baby!"

  • damn.....that guitarist almost made it all the way thru the most difficult middle portion....he fluffed the end riff, but my hat's off to him........anyone attempting to do this one is half crazy anyway.....

oh, and dale bozzio sucked.....off key and forgot the lyrics....frank would have fired her on the spot.....

  • I miss ZAPPA

  • Great stuff, this is the real Dale Bozzio!

  • That clip is from the video, "Zappa's Universe." I used to have it. Thanks, buddy!

  • Guitarist is Mike Keneally

  • guitarist is amazing, his vocals stink.the entire band his hot,I like dale ,but she probably had a crappy monitor and couldn't hear her notes were off, believe me I have played with many bands around the world and some nights you cant here crap.that's why I started wearing walkman headphones(1982) with my own mixer next to my keyboards with most of the band in the mix,so I could mix my own levels.missing persons were totally innovative and original when they came out.

  • You must be facial Graveyards and Assorted Zoo Gravies

  • awesome song but these guys butchered it

  • Frank was an antidote to the horror of commercial radio. A rare talent indeed. Been an admirer of Dale for a long time.

Thanks for putting this video up.

  • @nuffzed Frank was promoted by yids 2 drive whites 2 listen 2 slave noise (black music). U know, like how all the 'I'm so lame please kill me' white bands R promoted by kikes as a way 2 trick white kids that 2 B happy & fun is 2 B an ugly fat greasy african sack of diarrhea =)

  • What crap - Zappa is chaos

  • In otherwords, you only understand "The Osmonds?"

  • @panhead1219 I understand false alternative & straw man fallacy =) Which is what U R using, retard. The fact Zappa is crap chaos has nothing 2 do with me. I could B a lump of steamy doggy poop, & Frank Zappa will still B 1 of the most annoying crappy musicians of all time =D I guess if U do enough drugs, this stuff becomes 'tolerable' or something. Same reason I suppose lot of those tweakers pretend they like that 'POM POM POM' zero-talent 'techno' noise.

This is random junk, not music.

  • Damn! I thought you were dumb before, but to advertise your ignorance is just icing on the cake!

Thanks for proving my point, that you have not an inkling of musical thought or talent, and that you STILL think the Osmands are "All that!"

When/if you reach puperty, get back to us.

  • your mom should of swallowed you

  • Do you actually think you have a good taste in music? Do you actually know what music is?

  • @namelessguy93 Go on with your 'kill-the-messenger' dance. Who or what U like 2 pretend I am has nothing 2 do with the fact Frank Zappa noise is the most chaotic, meaningless, lame crap ever 2 enter the scene. He is certainly promoted 2 drive white people into the arms of nig noise. U know, like how the yids promote emo crap as a false alternative 2 slave farts (rap). Fact is there's lots of REAL music out there that has nothing 2 do with EITHER! Wake up.

  • You are a waste of time you racist idiot. Go listen to your turkish and russian fake plastic pop songs...

  • Yeas that is Mike and this woman apparently has never heard the song she needs to go back to Cuyahoga Falls

  • Dale Bozzio rocks, great vocal job, take care of your pussy,,,,,,,,,,,,cat!

  • ...is that Mike Keneally on guitar??

  • Nice that Dale's there but she totally nerfed all the lyrics, nice job Dale!

  • From the bus last tour

  • shows how much she knos .Smart woman from Los Ang but no body in dis crowd would know it. Missing Persons should have lasted longer said so muchabout L.A.mentality and U.S.

  • and here comes the ice pick in the forehead!!!

  • Guitarist is awsome!

  • oy vey.....Dale stunk at this....big time.

  • Wasn't she the girl who was stuck to seat 38 on Phydeaux III?

  • @dc2be

    Hahahaha!

  • cat killer but still hot at her age I'd hit it

  • Joe's Garage? You gotta be kiddin me!! I love you!!! :D

  • no one can do it better than Dale

  • Dale is Mary on FZ Joes Garage. Awesome!!!

  • Ike Willis is way better. Wonder why they didn't get him instead.

  • dear dale we need more more!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • she sang it exactly like she does,perrrrrrrrrfect!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

  • I have the CD of this concert but some songs like this one were omitted

  • what year is this performance from? whatever dale sounds great... she fumbles the lyrics, but she adds so much to the vibe of the track

  • November 7, 1991

  • @dojonane You must be tone deaf sir. lol

  • CAT KILLER!!! I used to think she was so cool. Now she is a disgrace...

  • Yeah she sucks....guitar player does okay though.

  • 0:23 she forgot the words.

    0:34 singing the words.

1:37 what is she singing here?

at least the guitar player knows the words and he wasn't even on the album. She shoulh have stayed stuck to the seat on Fido 3.

  • Comment removed

  • I guess you've never seen Ike?? LOL

  • Whats so funny,,, I always thought that Ike was a Black dude.. Honest enough mistake. He obviously impersonates the vocal (sort of). After a second listen I realise its not Ike..

  • originally it was the black dude. That dude's voice killed. I don't know his name though

  • the guitar player is the very excellent Mike Keneally ... check him out with Steve Vai et al in G3

  • that was not good at all, sorry....

  • you got the whole show?

    zappa's universe

    only got on VHS ...

  • I think this is great. So "poo pooie to YOU Hughie"! Loved Joe's Garage and Ike Willis is the bomb! A pregnant Dale was just having some fun here... and that's cool.

  • Comment removed

  • Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!

  • Is she on heavy-duty drugs?Love her husband though :-)

  • excellent song..........for me to poop on.

  • It doesn't sound at all like her voice from the album. She was Mary, right? Then again, she only tried to "sing" (if you can call it that) which she never did in the album.

  • Absolute crap

  • Wow, they really did a bad thing to this song.

  • Zappa never ate U-Know-what on stage

  • If I wasn't really into zappa's music and I saw and heard this. I'd believe the rumor that he ate shit on stage, it was probably really difficult 4 frank to have his name on this concert. Keneally is amazing but Dale is a disgrace.

  • Keneally was about a third of his current size... anyway he is a great today as then.

  • she's the worst signer ever heard

  • @virgileratelle yeah who the hell is this girl? Her singing sounds like the auditions for american idol. And she screws up most of the words. haha i normally dont comment on here, but I'm a huge zappa fan and it just pisses me off that she isnt taking singing the song right seriously. *sigh*

  • @FunkyAlfonzo I think she may just be thinking she's singing karaoke! lol

  • @FunkyAlfonzo I think she may just be thinking she's singing karaoke! lol

  • @FunkyAlfonzo I think she may just be thinking she's singing karaoke! lol

  • @FunkyAlfonzo Frank actually met and did a couple of things together! basically he liked her.

  • @FunkyAlfonzo

The girl is Dale Bozzio - a.k.a. 'Mary' from Joe's Garage. She was the girl that was stuck to seat 38 on Phydeaux 3. She's in to leather, and rubber too. It looks just like a Telefunken U-47

  • awesome! whos that guy? hes sounds/plays pretty close

  • Love Dale, but geezus, get the lyrics correct next time.

  • "Oh, you were the girl that was stuck to seat 38 on Fido 3."

    "And here comes the water!"

    "Ah!"

"Sounds like you just got an ice pick in the forehead."

  • where can I get the entire video concert?

  • It was out on the usenet in pieces about eight years ago. Good luck finding it all. This is the only part I snagged.

  • @chagojojo

It is a tribute called Zappa's Universe available on dvd and cd

  • @chagojojo i RECORDED the whle thing off cable years ago, try seraching the web or VH1 for the whole show

  • with leather? lol

  • that was nice.

  • For the removal of this video, whos to thank? Gail Zappa prob. If its sung on Joes Garage, its something to swoon over. If Dale Bozzio sings it (and it 'was' a pretty good version) its disrespectful to women, Hillary style. Just another reminder that yea, there are still uptight people out there.

  • dale bozzio is only image, she is a big bull shit singer...., why not call diva zappa??... , peace!!! people!!!

  • Yeah Mary I know you gotta get home, your father is waiting for you in the tool shed.

  • Keneally should be in the Weird Al Yankovic Band.

  • How can I not Frank? We jammed just before he was drafted, Vietnam tour. Great musician, hell of a sense of humor. He jammed with some very dear friend in Da'Nang, the Electric Grunts!!!

Salute Frank, I miss jamming with ya'.

  • It's not that she sing bad or don't remember the lyrics. I wonder if she is unsecure of the rythme. Or of course a mix of the whole thing.

  • Her voice reminds me of Karen O

  • Happy Mardi Gras 2008

    have some beads

  • how sad...with such a cool outfit I would hope for a better performance

  • mike keneally is bad ass....

  • TERRIBLE!!!!!! She shouldn´t sing!

  • Kenneally played the marimba section on guitar. He rocks.

  • WTF, Dale spoke on the original of the song and she cant even remember the lyrics to the song. what a fuckwit.

  • Yeah, she ought to remember that FROM 30 YEARS AGO!

Give her a break, she has her own music to think about. She must have done something right since she got most of the guys in Frank's band at the time to leave for MP.

  • Love this vid, but Dale should definitely rehearsed a bit....it's not like the lyrics are a mystery.

  • Oh yeah this totally ROCKS!! Mary the girl who was stuck to seat 38 on Phydeaux III singing her song!! BIG ONES!! WET ONES!! BIG WET ONES!!

Brought to you by the BRASSIERE, home of THE TITS!!!

    ;)~~~~~~~

    Thanks for posting this!

  • very cool :P

  • lol, keneally looks like wierd al yonkovich. But sings pretty close to the original

  • MUST...FUCK....DALE......BOZZIO

  • hey guys...where does this clip come from?

  • wow. the former playmate Dale Bozzio...she's the ideal "wet t-shirt" asshole model for the spoken part of the tune!!!

    Well...as a singer she's a dog!!!

  • If you want to hear Dale Bozzio get out your Thing Fish album yeah!

  • Boy, she can't sing at all.

  • WTF i dont see bozzio in a wet t-shirt. zero stars

  • Dale is actually the voice of mary in joes garage so she has every right to this tribute to frank good or bad .... :D

  • This was great. Mind blowing guitar by Keneally. Dale shouldnt have sang...they should have done the whole part that she ACTUALLY did on the album.......

  • Afraid Dale butchers this song completely. Zappa wouldnt stand for it

  • Are you implying that this was one of them? I disagree. Joe's Garage tells a story...a rock opera, so it fits perfect. Not everything can be as complex as Peaches en regalia or Inca Roads.

  • Well, for those who need a little back ground: 1)

this is a Frank Zappa tune. 2) that's Mike Keneally singing and playing lead guitar ( he was hired on after Steve Vai left Frank's band) 3) Dale did some session work for Frank where she had meet her future husband Terry Bozzio who played drums for Mr. Zappa --this is the connection to why Mike & Dale are sharing the same stage covering a Zappa tune -- although, it does appear that Dale is having trouble remembering the lyric's :-)

  • hey isn't that Mike Keneally on guitar/vocals with the stupid hat on?

  • It would be nice if Dale could sing remotely in key,

not to mention fucking up the lyrics. She should stick to gigling and easy stuff like 'the bus'...

  • Dale is of course still a godess!! I like the jazzy music. Do you have anything from her solo albums??

  • Dale should have brushed up on the lyrics first...

I actually own the VHS and CD of this show. Mike and Scott Thunes kick ass, but Zappa Plays Zappa puts this to shame!

  • when was this filmed?

  • November 7, 1991

Zappa's Universe (A Tribute), The Ritz in New York City.

  • Thanks. I am still a fan of Dale Bozzio (hot hot hot).

    oh yeah and Zappa.

  • true!!! Dale's stil hot!!!!

  • Mike Keneally is the MAN!

    Excellent post, captain.

  • Dale looks F****** FABULOUS .. nuff said ...

  • I didn't know Weird Al Yankovic played guitar...

  • Grande Dale, grande Mike Kennally (?)...

    Grazie Frank Zappa!!!
