  • This guy was in blood sport... boy he has become so old....

  • Jkd is the root of "modern" mma

  • I never knew this guy was so cool. Thanks for the upload.

  • "i call it bullshit"

    xD

  • he is mostly right about muay thai but i sense that he is angry and prejudging

  • This reporter kills me. Paulo's perspective is fascinating, and I had no idea how passionate he was about the purity of his art. Wow. Great video, otherwise.

  • paulo tocha was pretty charismatic in blood sport, seem´s like a really nice person in real life.

  • its paco :-D

  • african portuguese pride

  • good interview but it could have been better. fascinating that paulo started talking about muay was also fought on the ground but then rules were changed so that westerners would win, then interviewer jumps to people paolo knows in the entertainment industries. cheezy.

  • he got knocked out on bloodsport. lol

  • @everynickistaken1 that was a movie dawg haha

  • Paulo is the best! He respects the art so much. He knows the truth behind real Muay Thai. He's also crazy about Thai tattoos - the whole tradition behind it too not just inking. Much respect for this Kru. He's a true Ajarn.

  • paulo tocha is the real deal.....a badass with a humble side!!

  • Ya know, when i first started watching this i thought i was gonna hear another guy claiming they are experts. But this guy tells the truth, like here in Miami, they teach some crap, go to Thailand for a month or maybe two, pay for their "certificate" that you can buy online probably, and call themselves "Masters" it is a joke.

  • i do not practice muay thai. i always loved the philosophy and practice. what this man says is interesting and i'm glad he said it. so many of us westerners and european have shitty ass attitudes...and only concerned about taking the resource, but not the spirit.

i think that would explain why belt holders in mma and muay thai. you simply can not hold on to a belt without skill, aptitude and spirit. the proof is all there...

  • He's a fake? That's Paulo Tocha, arsehole. He was a champion in Thailand, has trained champions and continues to train champions today. You spout a couple of wikipedia facts and you're the expert, eh?

  • @barcfutant i agree. paulo tocha is a very humble guy and is a legend in thailand. then you getwhat you call a "fake" like the guy below is hanging shit on him. i'd love 2 see him say it 2 paulo's face and obviously hes gunna know that muay boran was the original form if he was brought up by thai people. this guy below is a fucking joke.

  • @barcfutant Many of naive kids know least of Martial arts history

, please ignore their troll & underaged comments.

  • @barcfutant I think that you dont understand...Paulo Tocha is not happy with the new and fake teachers :)

  • this guy is a fake... "It's Muay Thai" I bet he dont know where it first started... Thailand has no documentary whatsoever but Muay Boran was the name at first and they changed it to muay thai after they betrayed Cambodia

  • I live in Thailand from 1993 and fought several time all over the country , Paulo IS SOO RIGHT about fake muay thai teacher and fake muay thai , i am totally agree with him !

  • This guy is cool as hell...

  • MUAY THAI IS TONY JAA TONY JAA IS MUAY THAI TONY JAA MAKES PEOPLE LOOK SILLY BECASUE OF HIS SPRIT AND SKILLS AND HIS TIMING IS AMAZIN

  • @ANTPHRESSH89 Tony Jaa? oh man that guy is sick! the way he moves is remarkable the sickest martial arts moves ive ever seen.

  • @ANTPHRESSH89 Tony Jaa, while an impressive athlete/ gymnast , is nothing more than an actor. Also, all those moves he does are Muay Boran moves, not Muay Thai. Muay Boran is the original form of the art and gave birth to Muay Thai.

  • @ANTPHRESSH89 Muay Boran

  • @DW01 yea muay borannn

  • boxing is what made martial arts popular, and is and always has been by far the most practiced form of martial arts

  • @tatertots00 Bruce Lee made martial arts popular, follwed by all the martial arts and ninja movies, and now mma is what is growing the martial arts... Boxing has very little to do with martial arts.

  • Comment removed

  • @tatertots00 Then you know very little about martial arts! Maybe do a little more research.

  • @DW01 you are wrong

  • @tatertots00 No, you are.... (childish comment)

  • epic vid

  • good stuff

    very interesting video

    please share more

  • Elie, I get the feeling you were hassling this guy. You had like ten different cuts, each from a slightly different location, lol.

  • @tony62 You do a few series of questions then you edit ti together so it looks smooth.

  • tihs is real talk

  • Sawassdee Krup. Kru Paulo Tocha is 1 of the best that teaches REAL Muay Thai... Khob khun krup...

  • @ESNEWS Great Video Ellie, hey when this show come out, please post a video saying when it release on TV or DVD and the website you can find info about, please!!!

  • I live in Thailand and one thing that any westener will say is that when Thais fight Muay Thai they never get angry.

It is about control, the first two rounds normally shows this.

  • thats the guy from Bloodsport

  • this guy is nutty, and full of himself.. too much of the "spiritual" crap as well

  • wrestling is the root. Not muy thai. This guy is on crack.

  • @ttranccoc123 wrestling is the root of mma. but hes not talking about mma. read the title of this video moron, MUAY THAI

  • @ttranccoc123 when u learn real muay thai, u'll realize that there is wrestling and grappling in the muay boron...

  • Comment removed

  • @ttranccoc123 wrestling aint the root of mma, jiu jitsu is. Get a pure wrestler in with a pure jiu jitsu guy and watch him get his arm snapped or choked the fuk out. wrestling by itself is shit, unless u wanna dry hump someone.

  • @StrayedWolf

sure dude. I will fuck you up with my wrestling bitch.

  • @StrayedWolf What form of wrestling are you talking about as there are loads of forms of it? Greco Roman, Catch as Catch Can, Freestyle, all the british forms of wrestling, etc.

  • @StrayedWolf great point. to take it further...mma TODAY is what vale tudo is and has been since the late 60's or probably beyond. we damn americans...well a certain group...always think we own or started something. when the brazilians were doing vale tudo we were still in the karate schools. when no holds barred started...was it like it is now in mma. HELL NO! the brazilians were already fighting with the speedo trunks as a MIXED MARTIAL ARTS practitioner.

    started teaching...

  • @StrayedWolf 2cont. ...start teaching those asses up in california...now no-holds barred slowly transforms into "mma" by 2000 something. NOW, we americans think we own the shit. thats one of the biggest problems with us here in the states too much prejudice and delusions of entitlement.

  • I agree but only partly. First off, screw wrassling. But vale tudo also involved Muay Thai elements where jujitsu fighters would square off with Muay Thai guys for the honour of their respective martial art. I might be wrong though.

  • isnt muay thai about beating the crap out of someon1

  • I agree with this guy!!! 99.9%
