only turning wheel half way is not, only happen on few corner(fireworks turn akina dh) ..bt also this happened occasionally on some cars in ID3 nd PC must be done at a certain time to get rid of penalty or will not get 100% accel back,and he say"like iD3 much better because u actually had to use techs in that to be good. in iD4, all u have to do is PC" which is weird since PC is a tech but the basis to be fast with both games is your line
the reasons behind ID3 IR delete was to free up space for more internet record for other game...that was the sega official statement unles they wnt to lie to us all

also i had to type like a 2 year old to fit in word limit
in iD4, the makers made it so that there is a maximum exit speed at some corners. if you come out of it faster than that, you will experience random understeer, and your acceleration gets killed along with your speed. Penalty cancel is basically, after you come out of the corner, you let go of accel, tap brake to stop the max speed limit effect, then continue accelerating. I like iD3 much better because you actually had to use techs in that to be good. in iD4, all you have to do is penaltycancel
and to successfully complete a turn in iD4, you dont even have to turn the wheel the entire way. if you just jerk the wheel about 45 degrees, you'll just drift you way through it....iD is going down the can =P
ok.. id3 was awesome... yes tst was pretty damn weird too, but atleast it required skill to play, id4... full throttle turns... like wtf?, i miss id3... damn lol why they gotta delete the rankings
because iD4 was so unpopular in comparison to iD3. so they had to do something to stimulate growth in version 4, and that manifested itself by taking down the IR, which was stupid of them because now most of those people have switched over to max tune 3. i still play iD3 for sentimental purposes.

Still, MT3 fucking owns. It's too bad I cannot find this game anywhere in any arcades in Dallas or Fort Worth :( I would love to play it.
I"m still playing ID3 just to keep the memory alive...i mean it took skill to play ID3 like you said. It's probably why it was very popular.
