who cares about your technical evaluation of his voice ! doubt you are accurate anyway . just enjoy it ! you will never hear any one like this again. bruce, costello, bonnie, are in heaven look at their faces .
There will never be another voice as pure as Roy's. Elvis Presley said Roy had the best voice he had ever heard and that is undisputable. I was glad to see him with the Wilbury's before he passed away and his music will be heard and enjoyed for generations to come.
What a great man, such a powerful perfect voice he sings with such emotion!!! It was a sad day for me when he passed away. Thanks for posting great quality.
@HandwhistlerBen Roy was a natural tenor, his speaking voice tells his natural tessitura. He had about 2 & one half octaves up to high D of the tenor, which is good, but far from uncommon. The sweetness, melodic sympathy & ease of the voice however, is uncommon. The power of the voice derives from good microphone technique. It was a very small voice as tenors go, but enabled him to float it up high. It IS a beautiful gentle voice, but its range is not unusual. .
I don't know how but I never heard this song when it came out. I was pretty young but I knew others songs of his. I just recently discovered it and I tell you, it gives me goosebumps when I hear it. He's no youngster here and his vocals are still perfectly clear. There are alot of young singers who wouldn't be able to hit that final note. He's just amazing.
the god of all vocals no doubt--paying for that great talent he suffered great losses to his heart--but joined them singing with the angels in the end--to those of you fortunate to go above in your last days you will hear him again forever. such a loss to mankind.
Fantastic backing band.He is one of the greatest singers ever--Ask Bruce Springsteen who travelled for 16 hours on the back of a pickup truck just to see him do a concert
TCB!

I don't know a damn thing about the technical side of music. But the range of his voice works on your heart big time.
