The song tells about injustice in a very powerful way. But it also reminds of the power of faith and hope. It takes you to hell and points you the way to heaven. All in a touching simplicity. She is gifted.

  • Her voice is chillingly powerful

African version of Mariah Carrey if you ask me.

  • she is soooooooooooo quite!!!

  • With all due respect to Her fan. This the worst music video and lyrics. Even if i am in jail or got thrown away in a desert and this the only music there, I will never listen to this music. Every one is entitled to his or her opinion and this my opinion.

  • She is one of the few Ethiopian singers i admire lyrically and she got an amazing voice to top it with.

  • lol she is making me wish to fuck her when in the video at 00:27 on the time line

lmoa extremely hot & ......westernized !! no joke

  • This woman is amazing but she certainly has a thing for guys with dreads!

  • Big ups for Zeritu..we went same high school Lazarist Catholic School.....i never though she will get this far when she sing for us back to school..we are proud of u Zeritu Kebede...i wonder what Teacher Zewdu will say when he see u...!!!!!!!!

  • Enkef,

I know Lazarist was never a high school, it was upto grade 8 when I know it not long ago. But you are right about Teacher Zewdo. I have seen comments that say, someone attended school with Zeritu at Akaki mission, another one said Cathedral, and now Lazarist. I wonder who is telling the truth, or is anyone? Anyone know where and when Zeritu went to school, and when did she finished HighSchool, did she ever go to college? Need to see clear evidence not just empty claims.

    Thank You,

  • @EtosZega

Listen dawg...am not attention seeker....lol her lil bro was my best friend...Lazarist now Teaches till 12th gread for u info, but she learned there till 8th gread...and might went to some other school u listed up there..and she used to live in Addisu gebeyaa...!!!!!! pzz out

  • Comment removed

  • @olezewlaz .....what the hell r u talking about?? what does this have to do with the song??

  • I don't get your frustration, because people go to many school until they finish 12th grade. So she many be at Lazarist and Cathedral for her elementary school and Akaki Mission for high school. I went to 4 different schools in my life time some are mentioned here so, what is the big deal.

  • nice song/video even though can't really understand what she is saying.

  • nice Video/song, even though can't really understand the words.

  • good job Zeritu....and Elias MElka i love ur lyrics!!! it's too deep and the questions you asked in the song are same questions many of us ask till this day!!May God bless this world!!

  • The general theme of the song is her intrigue disbelief disappointment and frustration about life's inequity and unfairness. How some have it easy without having to work for what they have others do not have enough just to get by. Why the thief and dishonest gets to live rich lavish life while the honest and hardworking go by without able to fulfill just their simplest needs. She concludesby stating; this unjust happens for a reason that she may not understand but someonelse (God) knows why.

  • wow! well said EtosZega!! I believe, that was the true meaning of this song.

No one could say it or translate it any better!! well done!!!!!

  • @EtosZega who asked you

  • i really like this song.....but fail to get the meaning...plz someone...what is she saying?....i love u ZARITU

  • I wish she is my daugther.

  • I love it!!!!

  • Nice deep voice and easy one the eye.

  • If you look close, she kinda looks like Lauryn Hill

She kinda sounds like her, too

  • BEAUTIFUL!!

  • Beautiful voice.

  • nice tune, and lyrics....we need more analytical music ;)

  • cette chanson parle de ceux qui ont tout ce qu'ils veulent à côté de ceux qui courent à droite à gauche pour manger

  • she's probably the only ethiopian female artist who has a well edited music video!

  • haha seriously! u cant even compare to the music videos on MTV to ethio music videos! i dont know why they wont do anything to advance it i mean its really not that hard to do!

  • i kno but it's just ok well! not ecellent or even guud but better that other ethio artists

  • well time to step up and take the leadership to do it

  • שיר מרגש אני אוהב שיר כזה מאוד ממש נוגע לב אני אוהב אותך

    osman saleh osman

  • ich liebe dich für deine lieder zeritu

  • when is she coming out with a new cd?? she is awesome

  • i like this song b/c i now wat she is saying ang i came from ethiopia and in porsan she is not that nice

  • I love your personality and your music.

You are passionate for what you are doing. It is not money or fame who made you who you are now. it is the passion of music and i bet you have a good reason why you chose to sing about life. Ihave a feeling that tell me that you had some bad past..

I love you and will always do.

  • Every singer has his/her own style, let them sing as they like, there is no rule, listener will choose what they want, if you guys are not in her category go somewhere else. Dont criticize every singer; they have to start somewhere else. This is a general comment!

  • people need to stop hating ..she is a good singer and love all her songs so get a fucking life people....

  • female! u kno a man that sounds like this???? very wierd!!!!

  • i dont understand why everybody are arguing, why not just enjoy the song?

  • i love her song , she is samrt

  • the song is so much more than what you all are talking about. The message is so deep in terms of the problems that are going on in the world especially in ethiopia and what goes on in the lives of ethiopians while one is taking a shot of 1000 birr liquor and the other not having a penny to buy half a loag of bread. come on now.

  • @Spear42 i agree bb :)

  • Jesus tought us seeking justice have compassion to the least of God's creation .Zeritu is saying the same thing with her song and I say Amen

  • i remember zeritu in high school ,when she sang Celin Dione's "because Uloved me" 4first time . She sounded more likeer. I knew shell do somethin amazing some day. lots of us were motivated in to music by agreatTeacherZewdu.4instanceSofia&Meseret already got their records. Bet me, now I kind of started mixing music for a fun, check em up on my account on u tube DubrrHouse

  • We have Birtukan now we got Zeritu. Our women are rising up from every corner

    a great song.

  • I am in love with zeritu.

  • the message is so deep!

  • oh my God i love her voice.......

  • I wish she can praise God with this beautiful voice of hers instead of singing about Boys and other things.....

  • nice comment

  • That is the stupidest comment i have read on this page! I feel sorry for the rest of the jesus/pentecostal goons who are wasting their talent on what is totally irrelevant as far as this world, reality, is concerned. whether you like it or not, what she is singing about right here is exponentially bigger than any of the themes in religious songs. What exactly is wrong with singing about "boys and other things" anyways? like you can live without boys!

  • Hey there is life beside boys with God and if u don't know about it don't even bother to say anything without experiancing anything beside girls and boys!!!!!! and u have no right to call my comment Stupid ...man r u living in the 60s telling people to shut up....and for the record its a free country!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and remember jesus is the key to life and not boys and girls!!!!!!

  • she is like the best singer ever i am the #1 fan

  • sorry dude. I am actually her # 1 fan

  • Wow!! What a singer!! I luv it!! Keep it up Ethio-girl!! I need more of your songs.

  • Will you marry me

  • one of the most promising and sucesuful ethiopian jewls. Zeritu Kebede. the entire album is wonderful.

  • she is alright but dont give some shit comment on you tube coz i will fuck all of yow keep it real africa

  • jecob45: You better post a good comment on zeritu if you believe that she can do more. I don't know how you think that by giving a comment which probably heart her feeling and belived that she can do more. Are you encouraging her or try to down her. Any how, leave alone my comment is mine, is not your bussiness.

  • W o w ! ! !

    This is happening in Ethiopia?

She really has a unique voice. And she is so cute.

    meaningful words.

    Talented, beautiful Ethiopian girl.

    Keep it up sister ! ! ! ! ! ! ! !

  • I love her voice, she's so unique. unlike any other ethiopian artist...

  • love you zeritu u are good

  • she is so prty and really good at singing

  • shes fuckin sweeeeaat!

  • she's really good....usually the habesha singers don't have a voice like hers it she sounds more like an american singer

In a good way, but she should try singing in english :)

  • Zeritu is very unique! I don't think that nobody understood her the way I understand her. She is wonderfull and has her own voice.

  • wtf did you say bolshit she could be better than american singer bolshit talk the talk walk the walk bitch i hate ppl how give shit comment on you tube be part of american dream any thing is possible men

  • Usually, Ethiopian women singers are the who give us a kick on the brain. Starting with Aster. They have a very creative approach to our culture. Love them all!

  • when i hear this music i think about the life gap in this bad world i appriciate her sound and i love her style, her song is not only about love of some body but have a great message like regea music jah bless by your song

  • She is special in everything and that we are

Addicted to the usual thing and when we always see or heard somthing new,we tend to oppose it till we see its success.....Zeritu is a well gifted singer....Accept it!

  • "O MEN ALFN MELSO KTFAN"yes you are rhiayt

  • nice song tx for sharing this song.

  • she sounds like she's yodeling to me

    yoooodeleee heeeee huuuuuu

    leza yelatim

lol @ the dudes she has on her videos

  • LOL. I think she's honing in on the Cranberry's Delores.

  • lool.

unfair comparison, the cranberry got talent.

  • I think this is actually REFRESHING to see City life in Addis besides the Countryside with people ekustaing and riding horses with women in huts grinding teff. Such a nice modern approach

  • She's a unique cross-over musician. Her style is well-appreciated abroad whether Ethiopians appreciate her or not. She makes bold and true statements and that's one reason some people dog her. She's strong to tell the truth.

  • Gluch27, I think you are one of these people who dis Zeritu for fun. I can't stand that. Zeritu is fresh and new and you cannot handle that. Perhaps you should watch other videos that you do like and not comment on those you don't and then you can avoid offending people.

    I like Hamelmal a lot too, but I can't understand Aster's Amharic.

Zeritu, betam konjo zefen new. Awo. Fitlefit kanchi gar.

  • Don't get me wrong ethiopialovely used to like her so much but the proplem i have with here is she don't have any respect for her show also she didn't understand what is the meaning of not show up on her concerts that all . we were expecting here in washington DC more than 2 or 3 times but she didn't show up.

  • yeah but I don't think it's her fault. Blame the management, not Zeritu herself.

  • I hate to see this beach b/c she is the most stupid musican i ever lisen u know why b/c u forget where u come from stupid ass hole. don't think ur are Aster or Hamelemal ok . u don't even near them, they are the most respected and lovely musican. u know how did they get this? by reapect their people & themself . zeritu i hate u so much also all ethiopian b/c ur stupid cheap beach ass hole

  • Why you curse this Much? It does show your knowledge.

  • the song is great, the video corography is awesome.

  • Yall is crazy if yall think she is good. Where is the originality? which we always seek for as true listeners of amharic music .

  • this is my fav Zeritu's beats..amazing lyrics and vocal, good video.

  • If Zeritu is connecting to the margin of society ..very young people who loves the western pop and R&B then she have the right to do so and In my opinion she have succeeded.

  • I hope you are tring to be funny. I dont see any man, just a very pretty women.

  • who is on the lid ? is it elyas

  • the way she explodes the means of life and handling the gitar of the father to the kid...

  • what the fuck is she singing about

  • The song is about the contrast between the poor and the rich in Ethiopia (most of the world for that matter). She is talking about how the life is not fair.

  • budy life is fair the way it is

  • yeah i know what am talking about is her second cd and i love zeritu do u guys like her
