Saw Jimmy McGriff at the Mercury Lounge in Austin, TX (in the old, smaller location)... must have been around 1998? One of the best shows I can remember! Great band, and just the greatest vibe. Jimmy wasn't exactly jumping around, but he let his younger band and his fingers do the talking for him. How can you not just want to jump around and dance and feel good to this music? RIP, Jimmy--your music will live on!
To Spreadneck, its sas whn someone can't listen to a good song without bringing racism into the mix. You need to find your own channel to spread that kind of garbaggage. Music has been one of the thing that has intergrated our society. in todays music its all intergrated,so stop your foolishness!
@yellowlinks The drums in the intro at 0:05 are a popular sample used in music, ranging from chillout, drum n bass, hip hop and everything in between. It's not incredibly versatile or noticeable (like The Winstons's 'Amen Brother' or Funk Inc.'s 'Kool is Back'), but it has a great clean energy you'll be hard-pressed to find untouched like in this one.
Jimmy McGriff died on Saturday May 24, 2008 of multiple sclerosis. He was 72James Harrell McGriff (April 3, 1936 -- May 24, 2008) was a hard bop and soul-jazz organist and organ trio bandleader who developed a distinctive style of playing the Hammond B-3 organ

I think anyone who makes music needs to revisit and hear each song in which drum samples are taken from.
