Recover (Recuva) and restore deleted files, photos, pictures

Recuva is very good, but it has problems recovering fragmented files, such as from cards that have had files repeatedly deleted/added without a format.  In such cases, there are other very good freeware available that are capable of recovering fragmented files such as PhotoRec and Digicam. For more info, see video:

Go to the desktop and click on the Recycle bin. You will find all your data and all pictures that you deleted. double click on the Bin and selected the pictures or data that you want to recover, right click and selected restore all pictures and data you want.

Of course b4 you use this program, before you scan, make sure you don't reboot or delete more junk in the recycling bin or where ever you delete your stuff :) That can keep you from recovering corrupted files. Now I've tested Eraser and it eliminates any trace of your deleted files not even Recuva can recover and understand the broken pieces of 1 file. LOL still this is good program I agree.

If the pics are still on the computer but you can't boot the computer....

You could take your hard drive out, put it in an exteranl hard drive case and get the files that way.

Can this recover files that have been deleted with Gutmann or DoD type algorithm pattern? Can the files also after being recovered if so, can I modify, or edit the data or others on the drive that your lost data resides on, or would that cause your recovered files to be corrupted after using Recuva to recover it?

I finally was able to calm down and think and decided to check on YouTube. Sure enough I found this video after countless videos and here I am today with a smile on my face. I would not use this program to recover system files. You really need to repair Windows with a Windows CD.

Maybe you had overwritten them already. If you lost them, then used your computer for a few days then they might be gone...You can get a pro to do it maybe.

what you possibly have done is that you wrote over them... then they will be gone forever..

what you can try is to select "deep scan" this will take a lot longer but it is possible recuva© finds the files if you try it this way.. there are more programs that have this function..

if recuva fails i always find undelete a good one.. maybe this one will do the job

I think you need to install recuva in another working pc and attach it to the one that you want to recover in order to not overwrite files that you want to recover. Otherwise if you install in the same hard drive , you just overwritting the files that you want to recover. just a thought...
