Criswell was GREAT. There's NO way U can reproduce that. U can say what U want about the guy but he was truly one of a kind. I loved the movie 'Ed Wood' but felt the Criswell character just did not 'get it' it wasn't Criswell, he'd be an extremely difficult character study for any actor to reproduce tho, to be fair.

i put this in the dvd player at a party in college just to see how folks would react. it had the interesting effect of clearing the room faster than a can of mustard gas.  however, users of cannabis and/or hallucinogens watched the entire movie in glassy-eyed silence. so maybe it could be used as a field drug test for law enforcement?--just show a suspect "orgy of the dead" and see if he involuntarily sits down to watch... if so, cuff 'em.

Horrible editing; at first he's lying in the coffin and then it fades to him already sitting up... The effect would have been much stronger if we would see him actually rise from the coffin. He was apparently quite drunk.

From his downward glances, it looks as if he's holding his script down on his lap just below the camera. You can see how thrilled he is to remember his own name at the beginning without looking at his cribsheet.
