  • This is the first time I've heard the song clearly enough to understand the words. Thank you.

  • I can imagine a female voice singing this song in the overhead speakers in the store.

  • An amazing store

  • Oh man, this is they best place in the world!

  • I'm gonna set this song on repeat, for like 100 times. Then I'm gonna close my eyes and dream myself back to Yodobashi. I miss it so much!

  • I cannot stop playing this song...

  • Sounds like Japan!

  • NEED YODOBASHI

  • I dont know about you lot, but when i hear this song it makes me want to do a few things.

    1.Get back on a plane

    2.Buy some more Camera gear

3.relive last summer all over again..

    Kyoko, i'll be back..

  • makes me miss japan :(

  • this song is horrible, specially the one with the kids singing,it stays in your head for very long, like that vegemite song

  • Yeah, if I close my eyes and put this on while shopping on Amazon, it takes me right back to that marvelous toy department this summer...geek heaven. Expensive geek heaven.

  • Where did you get this, I want to make it in to a ring tone for my mobile.

  • Sounds like a crappy x-mas song !!!

  • Seriously a catchy tune! But I feel sorry for the employees that have to listen to this song about 500 times each day xD

  • despite of the awesome catchy song and hours of browsing in the stores they're just a bit overpriced imo :p (but the outlet in Kawasaki has great offers though)

  • I've bought s**t load of stuff when I've been there.... not sure if I'm bragging or complaining. :)

I can get the translation for this song through family or friends but don't want to appear to be nuts. Is there an on-line translation to this song anywhere?

  • I was at akiba yodobashi in tokyo yesterday =)

  • This song is the best song I have ever heard.

    Literally my nostalgia refreshed.

I miss Japan and Yodobashi camera shop a lot.

I don't know when the next time will come for me to be there. And I wiill hop shopping there. People over there in Yodobashi camera very polite. They used to help a lot. Communication is bit problematic. But It's Okay.

  • oh damn, i miss this song xD

but i swear they used to akihabara in it

  • I cant wait to go to Japan!

  • It shows you how the train lines laid in Tokyo which often confuses many people. ^_^

~~ Going around the circle is Yamate-sen, going through middle of the circle is Chuoh-sen~~

  • LOL, I feel pity for the workers... they have to listen to this EVERY DAY! ALL DAY!

  • Just came back from Tokyo today.

And when I entered Yodobashi Akiba and Umeda, this song really invaded my mind.

    =)

  • CA~ME~RAAA love it!

    Great memories flooding back!

  • I miss it :____( the akihabara store had spanish PA system xDDD

  • I've been in the store too - love this song!

  • the song is a bouncy cover of The Battle Hymn Of The Republic

  • Whoooooo the memories!! Fukuoka 2006

  • MIQ sang this song!

  • isnt this song originally some jesus themed song? i remember singing this melody when i was in kindergarten like this 'chlory chlory halleluja'

  • @NecoZAlenky1988

It has Jesus in the song, but it's an American Civil War song, about freeing the slaves. It's how Jesus died to make us holy, while we should die (or live, depending on the version you listen to) to make them free.

Basically, why we (The Union side) are fighting in that war.

What it's doing as a Japanese electronics store's theme, I have no idea.

    And it's "Glory! Glory! Halleluja!

  • i wanna come back to japan...

  • Remember hearing this alot when i was in Japan, brings back great fond memories of being there. Thank you!

  • bring back many fantastic memories of my trip 2 akihabara japan where i brought my dsi there!!!

  • How many times I have heard this song! fantastic ... no one have a translation ? =)

  • yay, I love this song, as it reminds me of the trip to japan I took, and the hugeness of a number of the stores I went to.

  • Every time I have been to the Umeda/Osaka store they have had this. In multiple languages. Have not been there since 2007. Going back in Sept. Do they not play this anymore?

  • @MrChadbag Went there last month; they still play it but not in multiple languages anymore. Only the store announcements are mult-lingual now.

  • I was there in Sept and the song seemed to be in many languages when I was there (as were the store announcement commercials)

  • LoL.. I used to hang out at Yodobashi Umeda in Osaka..and this song (Battle Hymn of the Republic) would play over and over in a loop ! It got so fatiguing after a while.

  • LOL used to listen to this song in 4 languages...nostalgic though

  • I remember listening to it as I rocked out on Guitar Hero 3 back in the corner...usually blocked by those playing football (soccer) and Metal Gear.

  • I have the same nostalgic feeling hearing that song :)

  • Brings back memories of my visit to the Akihabara store looking at all the brand new XBOX 360 games...all shoved in a back corner behind the PS2 stuff. ;)
