I remember this, it was actual snow. Sparse flakes, up north they would laugh at us for calling this snow. heh It was a light flurry. It snowed like this during the day in Brooksville.
I just moved to Lakeland a month ago. So far so good. Trying to get use to no traffic and the quite. I'm in the historic section. Cute doggie! Wants to play:)
i live in lakeland and its a nice place has everything you need and a tenny bit more but its still small so less traffic :D btw- i missed the snow D: must of been sleeping or something im not sure or maybe not in my area
@hottyroddy I LOVE.LAKELAND...I've lived in TX, CA, GA, NC and This is my favorite home of all. Of course we have gone to Disney World most weekends in the last 20 years!...a few hours at a time, of course... and the beaches are close...Tampa/Orlando sooo close...I've been a Realtor here for 17 years, so I want everyone to move here! LOL.. Really, It is the best location and a nice, nice city to live in. Best Kept Secret Ever! Truth! Thanks for asking! Y'all Come On. The Weather is Great Now!
You know how many times as a kid I put on my christmas list i wanted snow!!! Now i'm at Fort Bragg, NC But I was pretty upset all those times I asked now it happens lol
I can't believe it even the weather channel local on the 8s showed pink on the 9th but you guys proved it, that was a dream I always wished for. Part of my meteorology reasearch goes to you both. Thanks
Whats the big deal? That its snowing in florida? These people are so excited by it. who cares, snow sucks. let it fall and trap you in, cut off the power, or make you wreck and lets see how much you like it.
Planet always gets cold and warm. Its has nothing to do with Humans. Its only the Sun. Does this from time to time, No big deal. But yippie for the Billionaires for making money off it. One of the greatest stories ever told. Just wished i thought of it first LOL
but if its this cold wouldn't the glaciers be freezing agian? and wouldn't summer also be cooler instead of hotter? wouldn't the average temperature be dropping and not picking up?
Great. I live in mulberry, but work overnight at the south lakeland walmart and I saw a few flurries around 5 in the morning. But I couldn't get good pictures or video.
I don't know if you've lived in FL long, plus I don't know how often snow is going to arrive in Lakeland, but it's probably a good idea to buy two ergonomic snow shovels. TRUST ME. I live in KS and when it snows with 50 mi/hr winds sometimes, those shovels after the storm REALLY help reduce your back fatigue and frustration at screaming at the sky. Just wanted to give some helpful advice. That's all.
i'm orginally from eagle lake there in polk but i live in tennessee now. i never thought i see the day when it'd snow back in my home state. i had to see it to believe it ((: thanks for uploading
so crazy! In all my days in Lakeland, I never saw snow! I'll keep sending our Colorado powder your way!!!:-) BTW Eric - I think we went to LHS together - small world!
How cute :). I am from Bartow living abroad - shoveling snow for the first (and hopefully the last) time. I would love to trade places. I absolutely love the cold weather, but I hate shoveling snow.
Hi guys! I'm Mike D's daughter, Katie. I live in WH and I waited up so late last night and checked it out at 6 am and nothing. So jealous. We are experiencing some hail, hoping for some snow tonight.
I was at work till 12:30 last night in Plant City but I live off school house road right up from 540a Lakeland... I didn't notice any when I left work last night but hope I'll catch some after work tonight. Sense it will be in the 20's tonight!!!
That was neat to see. However, it did snow in Lakeland in 1989 (at least near I-4), and the cold killed thousands of citrus trees. Not only that, but we were traveling to Orlando, and had stopped for breakfast, only to find the lock cylinders on the car frozen and inoperative (2 cups of hot coffee fixed that!). Orlando had scheduled brownouts for 2 days to handle the power load required by all the heat needed during the cold snap (we were in a hotel).
Thank you for doing this....I remember about 15 years ago my Mom bringing me outside to look at the porch light at 5am b/c you could see the little flurries......wish we would have stayed up to see this. Thanks for sharing...

Ya see what your SUV's did, now we have snow in Florida.
You bastards, now the Mexicans will be flooding back in here shovels in hand...
I guess this is those "shovel ready" jobs Obama keeps talking about.

how is global cold the result of global warming, i call bullshit
miggedon 2 years ago
Because the melting of the glaciers, make the water in the ocean colder. Thus global warming will eventually put us back in an ice age.

@Boomer1949 well if you paid attention you would realize people everywhere are getting extremly cold temperatures.
TheCommentifyer 2 years ago
There's a difference between seasonal weather and climate change. One is a yearly measure, the other is a measure over time. I do pay attention.
