i love this number great choreography by Gower Champion , great dancing as well . I remember seeing it at the drury lane in london while i was performing in the original " me and my girl " . thanks for posting it , brings back so many great memories
Too brassy to be Peggy....remember she is suppose to be a hometown girl and a chorus girl. I think this young lady would have made a better Anytime Annie. Good tho!
I'm sorry I didn't rate it that much... I prefered the 2004 version I performed in... Dance has progressed a lot since 1984 and I also think that although the origional 'Ballet' was performed as a tap that theatre street works best due to the characteristics of all the characters in the story of the ballet...
Sorry, but the way that girl sings "42nd Street" is really bad! She is expressing each sound of the words and she clearly has an accent. LOL but I love the choreography!
Perfect. What brilliant choreography!

Were they on crack? The way they move their arms and heads are scary... and not in a good way.

I did this show in The Theatre Royal, Drury Lane in London's West-end in1986.
Without this show, many others would not have existed. So please do not be too hard on this show. We as musical theatre professionals owe it alot.

Her dancing is great, but her singing is NOT pleasant to listen to AT ALL!

I'll try put the version I did on here so you can all rate..
I'm not saying the choreography wasn't good because it was I just didn't feel it flowed like the Ballet should when it was written.

Please post the version you did. This was the first thing I've ever seen of the stage version of 42nd St., and I'm stunned. Five stars from me.

Yeah, I don't think she can sing either! But it's Clare Leech... who was one of the Peggy's in the original run on Broadway. Go fig.
