If I were a wealthy but super-busy doctor, I wouldn't want a huge house that I'd never have the time to keep clean, and if Ami's mom is anything like Ami, she probably doesn't truck with unnecessary frills, either. Between the two of them, a nice, spacious apartment is probably good enough.
