At first i thought this was Washington giving Beijing the middle finger salute. After i saw Gen Allen clueless, trying to answer questions, it occurred to me that this might have been done by a 3rd party, firing on NATO from the vicinity of the 2 Pakistani checkpoints to provoke the strike.

This doesn't help the US, NATO or Pakistan. Beijing will be rubbing its hands with glee but i doubt it goes beyond funding ISI, arms and bribes.
