  • A-fucking-mazing. Gawd, I love MMJ and symphonies.

  • goosebumbs...my only response to the brilliance of Jim James, this man has made rock music important again

  • he always say: "..an acclaimed musical [group/band/artist]... please welcome [whoevers there tonight]..."

good thing he has nice groups playing from time to time or i wouldnt stand another time of that old fart saying those same words

  • 2:42 reminds me of Eddie Vedder. These guys rock. Their newest album "Evil Urges" will blow your mind

  • Wow - what a voice!

  • And Letterman's stage was never the same again...

  • Vote up @phunkjunkie68, literally.

  • Comment removed

  • Starting at 2:43 is probably the best raw emotional scream in a rock song ever.

  • i know a million people have said it but it annoys the hell out of me with all the absolute garbage thats goinin around these days and these guys cant even make top 50. u deserve more fellas.

  • only 172,000 views? I have watched this at least 100,000 times.

  • Thumbs up if you agree with my widely popular and obvious opinion

  • Anyone catch the look of pure joy on the conductor's face at 3:21? That shit is just awesome.

  • this is still one of the most beautiful things i have ever seen/heard in my life

  • i love you jim james

  • Its tha fkn Who! lol

  • Incredible voice. When they opened for Pearl Jam I knew they were destined for big things.

  • Do you think they'd join me in a trip? To Ayahuasca?

  • @Traveler246 i would :3

  • Louisville Baby

  • This song kicks ass!

  • WTF was that old guy doing the the bird cage in the beginning? lol

  • Yes, U2 are self-absorbed fucks. (?!) Sigh. The cycle of time...the ignorance of the young...mildly depressing that they are able to voice opinions as if they were fully aware adults, but simultaneously lack any historical perspective as to the evolution of modern music through the dark night of the human musical soul that was the 80s. Reserve judgment, kiddos. You just make yourselves look like kids when you rebel against what you view as the establishment. A black sheep is still a sheep.

  • @elevenbravotwozero, I applaud you a million times over. Very well put my friend. You're ok in my book. "A black sheep is still a sheep" Bravo!

  • yeah yeah yeah yeahhhhh HELLO HELLO uno dos tres CATORCE

    Lame.

  • WOW! That is some band.

    God Bless.

  • This band is amazing

  • the only band to be sent from heaven

  • It's not about the image here. It's purely about the music. And Jim.

  • Omg....cant wait to play with them

  • hell yeah MMJ rules

  • I was always ifey about mmj. But I'm now starting to digg them.

  • oh shit......

  • god I Love that scream everytime!

  • Kindof reminds me of Robin Pecknold. They're both awesome !

  • @goshdranitalex

Robin is great but he grew up on Jim James

  • Thank God for Louisville and it's kick ass bands.

  • @RCTPatriot75

Agree. Moved to the highlands last year, now ear-x-stacy moved to across the street from me and their constant local band band concerts are awesome.

  • is it just me... or does this sound a HECKUVA lot like something Fleet Foxes might do? Even down to the lead singers' vocal.. UnCANNY....

  • @timjmoran MMJ came along wayyyyyy before Fleet Foxes.

  • @timjmoran Check the internet mate, it's the other way around. I do like Fleet Foxes, but your argument is baseless .

  • 2:42 gives me chills.. every time.

  • amazing voice skills... orgasm when he screams

  • I got goosebumps right when he starting putting all that emotion in it...and they were still there till the very end of the song. I'm Amazed...lol

  • 6 people are going strait to hell for disliking this.

  • Awesome. i got to play with Kieth Lockhart at Brevard, and now my youth orchestra is playing with My Morning Jacket. Louisville is proud of these boys

  • about 6 years ahead of the curve

  • definately one of the best performances and combinations ever

  • wow. one of the few bands that sound exactly same live and on their albums.

  • @hbash089 they sound so much better live.

  • that was really really amazing

  • simply awesome two thumbs up

  • MMJ is the greatest American Rock band since CCR.

Met Jim James last week at a mountain top removal activist festival at a Heine Bros coffee shop in his hometown. All I could say was, "Hey!" At least he said hi back

  • It's not my favorite music, but this guy has a great fucking voice on him. Damn, it's like Freddie Mercury lived through AIDS.

  • Wow!

  • Brilliant song writer and musician.

His Voice is like the holly grail in a sense

  • OMFG!!!!

  • AMAZING!

  • Another rock auteur in the tradition of Billy Corgan.

  • I get the chills every time I see this one.

  • holy shit

  • Whats that weird looking instrument at the beginning and is it not working right?

  • @naatee It is called a waterphone. I'm sure it worked, but the tones were mostly drowned out by other instruments. If you look for youtube videos of them being played, you will hear that they are not very loud and sound like whales recorded below water. But they could have mic'd it and blasted it I suppose.

  • @ztimeisnow Oh, I was under the impression that it wasn't working because at the beginning when they show the man playing it you hear a bunch of screeching.

  • everytime. i get chills. everytime.

  • Holy moly that was awesome

  • anyone that can rock that hard in a tux gets my vote, rock on boys!

  • The conductors face at 3:23 says it all

  • I'm so tired of crying overtime i hear this song. God I love it.

  • i love you my morning jacket

    from: mexico- neza yorck city

  • @rwebb that is the same thing I thought the second I heard his voice

  • Gooseflesh. That's all I have to say. I get gooseflesh everytime they play.

    <3

  • His voice reminds me of Robin Pecknold's of Fleet Foxes

  • @rwebb61 you mean, robin pecknold reminds you of jim james

  • @whitepearl724

Had I meant that, it's what you would have read.

  • @rwebb61 and where did you come from, Harvard? Fleet foxes and band of horses are both weak indie rip offs of MMJ.

  • @whitepearl724 oooh thats a bit harsh....i listen to all those bands...all great but mmj are the best band ever

  • i didn't like this at all.. sounds like U2 epic status.

  • I seriously just turned gay.

that is what you call an orgasm through music!

  • The unusual intrument played with the bow at the beginning is a waterphone, a modern invention by the way.

  • What is the instrament that was used @ the Start? The one the had a bow played.

  • @delbard1 an H2Ophone

  • so good

  • I wish they had played "It beats 4 u" that's my favorite song off Z... I listened to it while a surgeon gave my laughing gas- It was fucking sweet.

  • That's cool! They are just the best!

  • hmm...

  • Thanks Josh for tweeting this. Awesome music & voice, great performance.

  • Somebody get that guy a lozenge!!!

  • @sparkss4 Except a lot less...gay.

  • anyone else thinks this sounds a bit like The Who? Love it!

  • @lloydpeterman The Who and MMJ are my 2 favorite bands.

  • First saw/heard of these guys back in 2000, they opened up for "The Doves" in Boston....MMJ stole the show, it's been pure musical bliss ever since.

  • Best rock band in the world right now.. I loves these guys!

  • Jim James = Voice of God

  • @deftox yep. American Dad was right. haha.

  • Is he wearing a tuxedo? Wth... who DOES that? 5 stars.

  • who does that? everyone on that stage apparently.

  • everyone on that stage apparently.

  • Cant wait to see them at SASQUATCH!

Its going to be mind blowing!

  • These guys are seriously talented.

  • JESUS CHRIST i wish i could see them live.

  • @goldenwilliam09 i just got tickets to see them

  • U lucky bastard I tried to pick tickets up to see them in Nashville, but they sold out in like 3 days.

  • WOW!

  • jim james pierces my soul.

  • i totally disagree. U2 is a bunch of slef absorbed fucks. mmj is SOO much better and more talented

  • who cares who they are im talking music.

  • And I agree...expect the part when you say that U2 is a bunch of self absorbed fuckers

  • @CakewalkRun Do a little research, listen more music, state an opinion as if it were a fact if you do really know your stuff about the subject. Just don't make such a bold (and wrong!) statement without giving any good motivation or reason for it.

  • u2 blows

  • FKN AWESOME!

  • @Kjelleros GTFO

  • I could watch this 1000 times and I would still get shivers up my spine when he yells "Come on.... Yeah"

  • My junk bleeds from excessive stroking every time I watch this.
