  • Sigur Ròs <3

    From Italy

  • So fucking beautifull!

  • This is one of the greatest, if not the greatest song a mankind ever made!

It's so raw and emotional while still being so perfectly well planned and composed.

Every time I listen to this song it sends shivers down my spine. It's one of those songs I'll never forget in my whole life. It gives me hope when I'm down, while putting me in a melancholic mood at the same time.

    This is ART!

    Thank you Sigur Rós.

I hope I'll have the honor of attending one of your concerts one day!

  • 5:09 shit gets real... I have to see them live before I die

  • when jonsi leaves the main stage mic and goes to the back with the rest of the band.......

    5:09 onward is not music

  • this band, their music change me for ever (i know i'am not the only one...)

i've seen them live in Paris in 2008

now i could live happy for the rest of my life

  • Gives me goosebumps everytime... I wish i could attend one of them concert once in my life.... I'm sure it would be an amazing experience...

  • Love this song, and this particular performance. The voice at the end... beauty that makes me shiver.

  • simply beautiful.

  • I dont mean it in a funny way, but i'd like to make love to this song :)

  • I listened this last winter when I was on Iceland. The landscape there and Vaka have a lot in common. When I listen this I see it again :)

  • @villeminaheyo I respect the way you wanna die, but there are Sigur Rós songs's better to die!! Have you heard Ára Bátur or Sorglega?

Sigur Rós... their music are the begining and the end.

  • @JoruToxos

i agree...sorglega is the soundtrack of my life...i want to hear it endlessly...agaetis burjun too..staralfur,milano..oooh how i adore sigur ros!! they fill my soul's holes...

  • @JoruToxos

Don't you think it would be rather sad to die while listening to a song of Sigur Rós? I mean.. I absolutely hate it to be interrupted when I'm in the middle of a song of theirs, so I guess I'd prefer to die AFTER having just listened to one of their songs ;-)

  • awesome. the best 7 letters to this song. amazing

  • Esta musica é simplesmente linda pah...

  • he's not human...

  • @untitledie1 He's better than human, ;)

  • what`s that movie? seems so great!

  • it's the video for the song. :-)

  • because there are no lyrics, this is the soundtrack to every loss I go through. There are so many memories tied to this song and that's what makes good music because good music to me is about conjuring memories and emotions.

    I love sigur ros :)

  • This song is getting me through the tough times. Watching my best friend run off with a guy who treats her so bad. Everyday hearing about all the things they do together thinking "that should be me."

I played this song while at her house one night as she cried about how bad he treated her.

  • Fallen in the darkness...deeply in the abyss, there is one little light breathing: Sigur Ros...

    magic and amazing! +1000

  • yep man.. it's like looking to the infinite and searching for the brightest start shining over there for you

  • amo esta cancion.. i ademas la tocan igual en vivo.. =).. <3

  • The language is Hopelandic and it has no translation. It's pretty much whatever you put the lyrics as with your imagination.

  • Incredible performance - and those vocals at the end, breathtaking.

  • this song reminds me of the time i had a special girl in my life and who i sadly lost my heart will always be with you baby xxxx

  • This song always reminds me that loneliness is forever my only great friend. Thank you!

  • Love, love, love, love, love, love...

  • i saw sigur ros live at massey hall about a year ago and i swear to god when they perform its like nobody makes a peep, everyone is silent and totally into it.

  • so true i was at that show too, unbelievable

  • This is actually the perfect song.

  • this uncredible song reminds me the perfect moment when i became a father...and where my son looked at me for the very first time...

  • Comment removed

  • i nearly had that kind of moment, but my sons birth was tainted when we found out that he was retarded.

  • Simplesmente é uma música linda, um performance divina.

  • amazing, and inspiring.

    I've never been this alive

  • i love sigur ros !! and this song is ten times better live than on the album!

  • I completely agree.....sTEVE!

  • This is pretty.

    Even though it is falsetto.

  • what's so bad about falsetto?

  • Nothing It's just a lot of people look down on it.

I actually like it if its done well.

I used to do it all the time without really realizing it.

  • it's just fkin music, get real

  • Oh God @ 5:10 thru the end. I definitely agree with the sentiment that this makes me feel alive and real - "human." At the same time, their music makes we want to die because I'm pretty sure I'll never live to FEEL anything greater than them...save listening the next time around..oh and probably becoming a parent, but that might not even cut it! ;) Okay, so I'm being dramatic, but Goddamnit if Sigur Ros doesn't have that effect!

  • Holy ungodly ecstasy for the ears!

  • it makes me feel human.

  • shivers

  • if the emotion had a sound....it sounds with that music.

    andrex

  • each time the same feeling :

their performance is so perfect that it sounds ...unreal...!!!!!!!

  • the only word to describe this is wow

  • Quisiera la traducción de esa canción, alguien me la podría enviar?.

    Gracias

    José D. Rueda Plata

  • es en "volenska", un idioma inventado por el grupo. solo son sonidos

  • no existe

  • hhooolllyyyyyyy shiittt

damnnn everyy hairr on my bodyy stood UP!!!

and i didnt think pubic hairr kouldd too!!:P

    amazingg songg!!

you know if god had an ipod Id think he wuld have this song on it!! you knoww jammin with it!!

  • This song robs me of every adjective I know; nothing can describe this song.

  • How about a noun? "Genius"!

  • This song is amazing, so full of emotion. Jonsi has such a powerful voice, this song almost brought me to tears

  • Many times !

  • What is Jonsi playing at the beginning of the song? I can't think of the name of the instrument....

  • It's a Yamaha Portasound Vss-30

it's almost like a toy keyboard that you can record samples of your voice in to then change the pitch and distort it and stuff. I've been looking all over for them. So hard to find! they're pretty old.

  • Just breathtaking.

  • WORDS CANT DESCRIBE THIS!!

  • This is unbelievable. I'm completely speechless.

  • I agree with Bajs, the whole reason for creating a language was for us to interpret the song however we wanted. But who cares its a great song

  • I think the song is just about the end of the world. a nuclear fallout.. its a beautifull song. :)

  • It's about one of the band member's daughters. The video just had a post apocalyptic theme. =)

  • I really wish I knew what the audience thought as they saw this.

  • see them live

  • I have, I just saw them in September. I'm just saying, many of the people who show up to talk shows don't know in advance who is playing, so a lot of people there had probably never heard of them.

  • Here's what this song means to me:

My daughter is 2 1/2 years old, she loves this song. She requests to hear it on a daily basis. It maybe named "nothing" but to her it is "pee-no" (piano).

Though she has the language of a 2 year old, she sings EVERY word of it with me.

What does this song mean to me? 20 years from now, I know it will take me back to when my daughter was 2.

    Beautiful, Beautiful, Beautiful....

  • that's exactly what it is about. the song itself does'nt have any real message, you creat your own message by relating to things.

    cute story about your daughter.

  • @tallpaulphillips

Exposing your children to great music, good man.

Very cool story btw, I love this song.

  • After "nothig" and "everything" we come to "whatever"... ok maniacs, you're all right. End of discussion:)

  • I have one more argument - look out fourth track from this album of Sigur Ros named "Untitled 4" aka "The Nothing Song". Don't you see any resemblances?:)

  • this song is about evrything.

    not about nothing.

  • lol

  • Every song on () have the same "lyrics" just different music.

  • Is their any real lyrics? :P

  • They aren't really lyrics, they are vocals.

  • I prefer not to know the English lyrics to any of their songs. Somehow if I knew what the song meant it might ruin it for me.

  • all the songs off of Takk have very poetic lyrics, as does staralfur from agaetis byrjun. Some of the other songs I'm indifferent towards, lyrically.

And then there are all the vonlenska ones like such....

  • @Dandybear There are no lyrics for this song. The language they sing in okay is not really a language but they call it "Hopelandic", you can sing whatever you want to, i think! :)

  • Well, but we don't know about what it is and we will never know this... so whats the difference? He may singing about killing chickens, and you will interpret this as (for example) try to save the world.:)

  • listen, actually the song is about whatever the listener wants it to be about. that's the whole idea of creating a new language.

  • hands down....so amazing live!

  • This song is about nothing, he has created new language.

  • While it's true that the lyrics don't have any literal translation, I really disagree that this song is about nothing.

  • just because he create a language, it doesn't mean it is about nothing

  • "I lost you when a get in that car... I'm sorry..."

  • I can't believe something this good aired on American television... and on a show hosted by carson daly no less!

  • its kind of sad that something this wonderful can only make it on a lame ass talk show at 2 in the morning :/

  • at least it was on , eh ?

  • Beautifful.....

  • This song really proves how even a simple composition can make you utterly emotional.

  • I almost cryed although I have no idead what the song is about

  • classic song.

  • Jonsi's voice is such amazing on this performance...

  • I almost cry every time I watch this. I've seen them live twice and its amazing how dead silent a Sigur Ros crowd is during the music. Everyone is just hypnotized.

  • This song is so intense.

  • una de ls canciones mas tristes ke he escuchado.. y se supone ke es de esperanza... :,(

  • I will be in Lisbon on November 11 to ejoy tehir music and company :)

Sigur Rós is probably the best band I ever heard!

  • el mejor directo que e visto en mi puta vida... gracias por el video

  • this is taken from the carson daley show you ...this version of vaka is the best by far...defo my funeral song....yeeee haaa

  • does anyone know what show this is?

  • Jimmy Kimmel

  • Fuckin' lol.

  • it's a shame he can't hit notes this well anymore

  • Just got back from their show in Denver and I would beg to differ. His voice is marvelous as it always has been.

  • chills.

  • I've seen this live a lot of times. Jonsi's voice is sublime, especially at 5.10. I love Sigur Ròs and their music... it seems like a dream.

This live in particular is beautiful, better then the studio version, in my opinion.

  • Fully agree. I've watched this video so so so many times and I still get chills at that bit at the end. This is one of the most beautiful songs ever, and this video makes it even better.

  • I cried at 5:10- That was Beautiful. Jonsi's vocals there were GREAT, the best ive heard him do live on Vaka.

  • uhh.. who gives a flying fuck about

what you have to say? Save all your useless comments for a Radiohead song, you don't seem to like them anyhow.

  • only a diaper with a medicine ball for a pet would say something like that

get some parents, or i'll get them for you

  • wow this is beautiful. i'm a music snob too and usually only trust people with good taste. i think thom yorke is a worthy source...

  • yawn -put your finger down your throat time -obviously a cut above use music people who are not snobs.

  • problem with radiohead is that they used to be exciting but they're now dull

  • maybe u just don't have what it takes

  • To me, this doesn't sound like a peaceful song, it sounds sorrowful, morose and just plain sad.

but that's one of the great things about Sigur Ros, the music is different to each person, and very few musicians can do that.

  • I completely agree. Ahhhh, how Sigur Ros can pack every single song so full of emotion is FAR beyond my knowledge

  • Magnifique...

  • This was late night on what...Carson Daly or something? What year was this? I was watching this when it came on and had never heard of them before. This performance that night had me scrambling to go out and get more stuff and made me an adoring fan.
