In the greater arc of civilization, China has always been a great power. It has just been sleeping the past few decades. Infant nations like the USA have suddenly realise they are not as special as they thought.

@SelfAccountable Thats true, but every big power in history works the same. For example if russians never had military might and nuclear bombs,im 100% sure siberia would be overrun but western countries by now.It always good thing to have several super powers in world.
@SelfAccountable Reality is very different. Japan and the other nations have strong and dependable armed forces. They won't go down easily. Furthermore, if the United States did not interfere, China would have probably been annexed by the Soviet Union/Russia or at the very least, Japan.
@SelfAccountable Wheres ur proof that they will invade Korea and Japan? They have never been an offensive country but rather defensive. Zhang He travelled 2 so many places during the 1400 such as Melaka in Malaysia, horn of Africa, India, Arabia etc and they didnt colonize anyone. They went there to establish trade. Silk Road?. And I am going to find out how both those things are doing today and were they are now. And I going to be happy knowing that good men and women have defeated both them. Then Im going to google the chinese communist party and see where that leads me.
God Carter is an idiot. But it is true that China has a smarter foreign policy in that it is patient and buys its time instead of running head first into nonsense.
@MineCraftFish1 Well to tell you the truth, China is more of a totalitarian state than a communist state. They are slowly shifting from the far left to closer to the center. But no, the reason America demonizes China isn't because they are too far left, its because they have had amazing economic growth in the last years, in the midst of a recession.
@iAshGotGame pretty obvious f you look at India, you cannot be an atheist, you will be put in prison, in China, you cannot talk bad about your country, you will be put in prison, in Russia, both of these apply, you will be put in prison,
now tell me WHY this is not a reason for Americans and Europeans(like me) to demonize or at least have some sort of dislike towards these country's you name
@lunaticz0r Honestly, your arguments about religion, for India at least, is ridiculous (I'm an Indo-Canadian). India is one of the few places in Asia where you'll find Hindus, Muslims, Christians, Atheists (etc) living with one another. As for Russia, you'll find religious fundamentalists anywhere in the world, and China is (slowly) moving away from it's far left principals (i.e. It's already begun to privatize select economic sectors). It won't be long before it converges to a full democracy.
@iAshGotGame well why did i find a (its in dutch but i can still link if you want it) news post about a guy in india being put in jail for a few years because he said god doesnt exist(athiest)?
@lunaticz0r Those sort of things are called isolated incidents. For example, if in the UK there was a news story that an African immigrant was killed due to hate crimes (and i'm sure there's been such a news story), it's unfair to assume that the whole of UK is filled with a bunch of sadistic, racist people. Similarly the story you heard was an isolated incident (ironically enough, isolated incidents are the ones which are advertised and covered the most thoroughly by the media).
@iAshGotGame the part of Russia that America rightfully "demonized" was mostly European and that's because they wanted the world to conform to their form of government that collapsed on itself and they had nukes with the design they stole from the U.S. China supported them and have a brutal government where they sometimes slaughtered civilians and when has America Demonized Indians?
@iAshGotGame America is used to demonized countries and people. that's a cheap way that politics uses to make war more easy : the good guys against the bad. But it's not a conspiracy as the very culture (i think about movies especially) is often two-sided, with light/dark good/bad. It isn't the same is all countries, that's reassuring.
@MKidYup Part of Russia is in Europe and part in Asia. Culturally it's considered as European or more specifically "Eastern European" if you like as the bulk of it's population is within the European part of Russia.
@MKidYup Yes like I said part is in both. However, ask an ethnic Russian what they consider themselves to be and they will say European. After all they like all Slavic peoples did originate in Eastern Europe and Russian like all other Slavic languages are a part of the Indo-European linguistic "family". Turkey is the same, a part is in Europe (though a much smaller part than in the case of Russia) and part is in Asia. Istanbul is I believe the only city that is technically in two continents.
@iAshGotGame its politics, creating an "enemy" identity in which Americans can rally together against gains voters and a political theme for a campaign.
The issue is that China's aggressive actions are always very subtle and manipulative with greater consequence. Americans blunder through things with guns blazing.
Oh really? If China become World police, it would be really worse. If it does, then we could spend all our money here to help ourselves and not play role in the world anymore. Let the world community ask China for help, it will be better.
BW Carter, you're the worse President in history. I hate the Shah but you let him fall and let Iran created a radical Islamic country.
@Hperman09 I don't like to label people that I don't know with unflattering names but sometimes I feel some people deserve that. You are an imperial jingoist who doesn't seem to care for the rights of other peoples in other nations. Very few times do other nations ask for US help but when they do the united states rarely responses. Only when our perceived nation interests are at stake. You supported the brutal Shah in Iran, even though he killed thousands and was a dictator? Pathetic.
@UrbanTerrorPro He isn't the worst president in US history, Taylor and Bush jr have that honor. If his energy policies were carried into practice we wouldn't need Arab oil, so yeah real terrible of him to think ahead.
@pancakezombie13 Well Obama isn't very bad, but he is not a success either. He is far better than Bush, although that is not saying much. He will be known as a very weak president.
But what is unintelligent about these discussions is when a white bearded white male that claim to be a professor with what you can tell is an American accent goes like, "do you think Africans are human being" when conversing about Africa-china relationship. That is kind of stupid right, but it always come up in the discussions like this and it is ugly, Americans are stupid why lie
Why does America need to have all these wars. We don't need to kill others and have our children killed. If China can tolerate and maintain peace, we can do it too.
@webmastertool I don't know a thing about the war. I don't know, nor do I care, about what caused it. I'm not a politician, just a civilian. I just don't like the war, and I know lots of people who, though just as uneducated about the topic as I am, would agree with me.
China is not a peaceful nation. This man knows jack shit. One can avoid conflict with others while still treating their own people like animals. Come on now, be realistic. Those with power USE power. That's how it's gone since the dawn of civilization. Chinas growth, however, is not sustainable. They'll either have to conquer or fall to their own internal debt, which is 150% of their national GDP.
@jreed136 Did the US ever treat its people as animals? Think very carefully. Question to your statement " while still treating their own people like animals"
@Wesley95501 you asked if China will allied with the US. an alliance is made by countries for a common defense against someone. so who is to be the danger that China and US can allied against?
@Wesley95501 Where did you get that idea that someone want to kill anyone. China wants to be free from colonization of the West, as well as not to be exploited in the future. They only recently got out from Wester colonization as of WW 2; and had a bad time with British Opium wars that they had a long time a go ; they only got Hong Kong back from the British recently do to they losing it to British in the Opium wars. The Chines will be happy with an apology from the West for bothering them
@korz53 HA, Im pretty sure you dont know this. Its because of USA china is rich by its products selling it to the US. And chinese military shit weapons is aim at the USA. HA
@Wesley95501 Aimed, yes; defensively. The US used the nuclear option in Japan not only to end the war faster but also to show what they have to the Russian and the Chines. it was a threat. Why would the capitalist enrich China and impoverish the US citizens?40% are now on food stamps in the US. Why enrich China and threaten them too , and be as enemies for? ???? Are capitalist stupid or what? or do capitalist want to sell the Chinese the rope to hang capitalist with.? or what?
@Wesley95501 they the Chinese invented gunpowder and rockets , as well the cannon way before the West came down from the trees. They will fuck your mama before you know it.
List of Chinese inventions wikipedia org/wiki/List_of_Chinese_inventions
Ninth ( in the year 800-900 AD ) century discovered black powder while searching for the elixir of life; this accidental discovery led to experiments as weapons such as bombs, cannon, incendiary fire arrows and rocket-propelled fire arrow
@korz53 Yes, they were great and powerful... In the past. 90% of all modern advances came from the combined efforts of the US and Europe. This includes the internet and the computer you're typing to us on.
China attacked American lead U.N troops in another country because we got too close to their border during the Korean War... Not in their country... Near their country...
@vtc193 Korea was defending their nationalism . Wanting to unite the Peninsula as one nation as it was before Japanese invasion . Chinese did war in that war do to the US wanted to invade China as the US was coming to the Chinese border ,Yes. AND the US had no business to be in Korea after WW2 ended anyways .
Would that be the same nationalism that has had 15% of their population starve to death? It wasn't about nationalism. It was about power. That's why their dynasty continues. We didn't want to invade China. If China feared that, they should have brought it up when they were voting to let America to lead the coalition forces to halt the N. Korean aggression. The South Koreans want us there. We keep the North in check. The South Koreans know the stakes. Do you?
@vtc193 US needed to leave the peninsula after WW2 . The US is not mama to them and they do not need a US mama there to help with their politics. US by being there contribute to the hardship of the North Koreans, do to the North spends their GDP on upkeep of a million man army that they can not afford. What the Koreans do with themselves is not the US business. US is not a saint politicly as to criticizes some other country's morality. They need hash it out themselves their own politics.
@korz53 We never had troops stationed in the Korean peninsula until the Korean War. Japan surrendered before we needed to invade that part of their Empire. We are not there to help their politics. We are there to help defend them from an invasion that would very likely come if we were not there. If the U.S had no troops defending South Korea, the North would still have a missive army. That is just what happens when crazy dictators rule a nation with an iron fist.
@vtc193 Communist China was not recognized as being the government of China until recently , and were not represented in the UN as it is now. They had no say during the Korean war in the UN form or any other World organization , except maybe with the Soviet Union.
In China a baby was run over in the middle of a road, and continued to be flattented by traffic for 4 hours near passing pedestrians before someone helped.
@toolworks do you know why> "In China a baby was run over in the middle of a road, and continued to be flattented by traffic for 4 hours near passing pedestrians before someone helped."
@xXvolhvXx They do not have too. yours or our politicians will beat them to it. "commies ain't gonna lay their hands on my country's freedom and prosperity!" The 1% capitalist already have the prosperity and soon our freedoms of the so called 99%.
@korz53 The fact that you have the right to prosper does not guarantee that you will. If you or I want to be prosperous, we have to earn it ourselves because nobody will do the job for us.
People childly believe that if a few rich people have all the money, it leaves less for everyone else. It's the infamous pie fallacy. The 5% own half the existing wealth, so what? The top 5% probably create something like 99% of all value on the market anyway. That's why I believe in capitalism.
@xXvolhvXx They that have the wealth, got it do to the society that they live in; otherwise they would be in a cave as a individual, living as an animal. When things get so disproportional in the status of wealth and or politics, something is wrong as it was in France,as in the French revolution; the US in1776 and Russia1917;China'1949 etc. Disproportional to the point the one in Man losses one's dignity, one must re - establish one's dignity,by claiming one's unalienable rights granted by God.
@korz53 It's not that they the rich owe anything to society. The reason why they are rich is because they contribute to society (unless they became rich by fraudulent means). They trade value in the form of output in exchange for money, which makes them prosperous because you can exchange money for nearly anything.
Of course that society can refuse to collaborate with the rich, making them poor, but it would be disadvantageous for society itself as well. All parties would lose.
@xXvolhvXx They the "rich" could not contribute to society if there was no society. and as the blacks & natives Americans in America who were slaves or disenfranchised had no opportunity to freely contribute and were exploited, so they were impoverished and by their exploitation the exploiters prospered and got rich. So is as today with labor , who are exploited politicly and economically to enrich the 1% unjustly. the disproportion of wealth and political influence is that proof;to 99%
@korz53 O sweet Lord, here comes the Marxism again. Provided that they did so by non-fraudulent means, the rich earned theirs rightfully, so there's no injustice for you to complain about. Their being rich doesn't make you poorer. If anything, it can actually make *you* richer due to their reinvestments into the market.
Mutual benefit, anyone? Is it so hard to understand that another's suffering is not a prerequisite for one's wellbeing? I'm sick and tired of this sadomasochism.
@xXvolhvXx if it was as you say, yes; but it is not. The disparities would not be so grate; it it was not unjustly in its exploitative. look at the economic fraud that is happening in the economy. Wages in labor do not reflect the engagement in the system for prosperity . but as wage slaves are becoming more as serfs to banks and land lords.
What happens when they're investments or gambles fail and they lose not only their money, but people's retirement money, the corporate welfare they are given through ridiculous tax loopholes that the middle class is forced to bear the brunt of, the misappropriations, etc.
There should be no such thing as an "elite" class....
Anyone who is arguing for the existence of an elite class who is not themselves part of that elite class is horribly misinformed and brainwashed.
"another's suffering is not a prerequisite for one's wellbeing"
Yes! That is if there is a fair and balanced distribution of wealth, where greed and laziness is stifled and prevented by government regulation.
If there is no greed and laziness, there will be no exploitation of people and government social programs. This exploitation runs rampant today, and it's all because of greed and laziness.
From 1973 to 1993, wages of low income laborers (janitors, etc.) went down 15%. Wages of production workers went down 20%. Wages of young male high school grads went down 30%. Wages of middle-age men with 4 years of college went down 24%. And the total wages of those earning a million dollars or more a year shot up an average of 243% per year !!!
If one considers "wellbeing" hoarding as much wealth as they could because they are a psychopathic obsessive who is consumed with money, wealth and riches then your statement cannot ring true, because they're excessive hoards in fact do come at the expense of the rest of a population. This is a mathematical certainty!
This is logic, not the propaganda that you've bought into.
@xXvolhvXx From 1977 to 1989 the top 1% (income over $350,000/yr) received 72% of the country’s income gains (while at the same time their taxes were cut $83 Billion a year). During this same period, the bottom 60% of us actually had our incomes go down.
It is simply a mathematical fact that if few people have all the money, there is none for everyone else. I urge you to re-read your statement and discover how inane it is. Obvisously if a few people have ALL the wealth, as you stated, there is nothing left for everyone else.
I guess mathematics is childish.
I think your view, which assumes an infinite supply of wealth and resources, is not only childish and WRONG, but it is completely regressive thinking that will doom any society.
When you said: "The top 5% create something like 99% of the value on the market anyway" I think you pulled that stat out of your ass. You didn't cite any source. So I guess you believe in capitalism because of a lie that you bought. That makes sense.
Even if that bullshit stat were true, that is not the sign of a healthy society, and should be prevented at all costs. Monopolies and corporations that grow large enough to buy political power simply shouldn't be allowed to rise.
@Titus420ful **eyebrow raise** There is so much misunderstanding in what you wrote that I highly doubt I'll be able to set it all straight with a 500 characters limit. I'll try to squeeze it into a tiny box.
1. Wealth is not money.
2. Natural resources are far from being the only output.
3. From context, you should have guessed that I was generalizing about the 5% and probably exaggerating.
4. Output (the embodiment of value) is good for a society no matter who creates it.
I'm so glad I helped to vote you out of office.

4.3% of the Chinese population lives below their poverty line.
Their poverty line is $79 dollars a year think about that before you spout off how they are a great country.
China supports the Syrian government's act in slaughtering now over a thousand people in a week.
In the Mao revolution over 78,000,000 people that we know of died by execution or starvation in the 10 years he was their socialist overlord.
I don't think that is very peaceful. What an idiot.

@iAshGotGame well why did i find a (its in dutch but i can still link if you want it) news post about a guy in india being put in jail for a few years because he said god doesnt exist(athiest)?
lunaticz0r 1 month ago

MKidYup 3 weeks ago
@MKidYup Yes like I said part is in both. However, ask an ethnic Russian what they consider themselves to be and they will say European. After all they like all Slavic peoples did originate in Eastern Europe and Russian like all other Slavic languages are a part of the Indo-European linguistic "family". Turkey is the same, a part is in Europe (though a much smaller part than in the case of Russia) and part is in Asia. Istanbul is I believe the only city that is technically in two continents.

Chinese did war in that war do to the US wanted to invade China as the US was coming to the Chinese border ,Yes. AND the US had no business to be in Korea after WW2 ended anyways .
korz53 2 months ago
@korz53
Do you?
vtc193 2 months ago
@vtc193 US needed to leave the peninsula after WW2 . The US is not mama to them and they do not need a US mama there to help with their politics. US by being there contribute to the hardship of the North Koreans, do to the North spends their GDP on upkeep of a million man army that they can not afford. What the Koreans do with themselves is not the US business. US is not a saint politicly as to criticizes some other country's morality. They need hash it out themselves their own politics.
korz53 2 months ago
@korz53 We never had troops stationed in the Korean peninsula until the Korean War. Japan surrendered before we needed to invade that part of their Empire. We are not there to help their politics. We are there to help defend them from an invasion that would very likely come if we were not there. If the U.S had no troops defending South Korea, the North would still have a missive army. That is just what happens when crazy dictators rule a nation with an iron fist.

@xXvolhvXx They do not have too. yours or our politicians will beat them to it. "commies ain't gonna lay their hands on my country's freedom and prosperity!" The 1% capitalist already have the prosperity and soon our freedoms of the so called 99%.
korz53 2 months ago
@korz53 The fact that you have the right to prosper does not guarantee that you will. If you or I want to be prosperous, we have to earn it ourselves because nobody will do the job for us.
People childly believe that if a few rich people have all the money, it leaves less for everyone else. It's the infamous pie fallacy. The 5% own half the existing wealth, so what? The top 5% probably create something like 99% of all value on the market anyway. That's why I believe in capitalism.
xXvolhvXx 2 months ago
@xXvolhvXx They that have the wealth, got it do to the society that they live in; otherwise they would be in a cave as a individual, living as an animal. When things get so disproportional in the status of wealth and or politics, something is wrong as it was in France,as in the French revolution; the US in1776 and Russia1917;China'1949 etc. Disproportional to the point the one in Man losses one's dignity, one must re - establish one's dignity,by claiming one's unalienable rights granted by God.
korz53 2 months ago
@korz53 It's not that they the rich owe anything to society. The reason why they are rich is because they contribute to society (unless they became rich by fraudulent means). They trade value in the form of output in exchange for money, which makes them prosperous because you can exchange money for nearly anything.
Of course that society can refuse to collaborate with the rich, making them poor, but it would be disadvantageous for society itself as well. All parties would lose.
xXvolhvXx 2 months ago
@xXvolhvXx They the "rich" could not contribute to society if there was no society. and as the blacks & natives Americans in America who were slaves or disenfranchised had no opportunity to freely contribute and were exploited, so they were impoverished and by their exploitation the exploiters prospered and got rich. So is as today with labor , who are exploited politicly and economically to enrich the 1% unjustly. the disproportion of wealth and political influence is that proof;to 99%
korz53 2 months ago
@korz53 O sweet Lord, here comes the Marxism again. Provided that they did so by non-fraudulent means, the rich earned theirs rightfully, so there's no injustice for you to complain about. Their being rich doesn't make you poorer. If anything, it can actually make *you* richer due to their reinvestments into the market.
Mutual benefit, anyone? Is it so hard to understand that another's suffering is not a prerequisite for one's wellbeing? I'm sick and tired of this sadomasochism.
xXvolhvXx 2 months ago

Titus420ful 2 months ago

"another's suffering is not a prerequisite for one's wellbeing"
Yes! That is if there is a fair and balanced distribution of wealth, where greed and laziness is stifled and prevented by government regulation.
If there is no greed and laziness, there will be no exploitation of people and government social programs. This exploitation runs rampant today, and it's all because of greed and laziness.

@xXvolhvXx Is Capitalism Working Today?
.rmbowman.com/catholic/econom4.htm
From 1973 to 1993, wages of low income laborers (janitors, etc.) went down 15%. Wages of production workers went down 20%. Wages of young male high school grads went down 30%. Wages of middle-age men with 4 years of college went down 24%. And the total wages of those earning a million dollars or more a year shot up an average of 243% per year !!!
korz53 2 months ago
@xXvolhvXx
Titus420ful 2 months ago
@xXvolhvXx From 1977 to 1989 the top 1% (income over $350,000/yr) received 72% of the country’s income gains (while at the same time their taxes were cut $83 Billion a year). During this same period, the bottom 60% of us actually had our incomes go down.
korz53 2 months ago
@xXvolhvXx
Titus420ful 2 months ago
@xXvolhvXx
Titus420ful 2 months ago
@Titus420ful **eyebrow raise** There is so much misunderstanding in what you wrote that I highly doubt I'll be able to set it all straight with a 500 characters limit. I'll try to squeeze it into a tiny box.
1. Wealth is not money.
2. Natural resources are far from being the only output.
3. From context, you should have guessed that I was generalizing about the 5% and probably exaggerating.
4. Output (the embodiment of value) is good for a society no matter who creates it.
