brandon routh on chuck showed he could act so i do blame the script and the directing they also made the bad decision to keep going with the bumbler clark kent without looking at the original, in the comics clark was a little clumsy but was a top reporter for a major metroplitan newspaper and strangely enough only the animated clark and dean cain have successfully portrayed this. christopher reeve portrayed superman as the real persona with clark as a disguise

Superman Returns had the potentional to be a good Superman movie the problem was it focused too much on romance instead of action that's why I believe it didn't do the business they hoped it would

They really should use Brandon Routh in the new one, I've seen recent pictures of him, he's the only actor today that really looks like Superman, he's older now ie. he''s lost the boyish look from Super Man Returns which is better for the Superman look, it's Superman, not Superboy...

I'm not looking forward to Zack Schneider's Superman. Brandon Routh may have been the best thing about Superman returns but I don't think the man who have us 300 is te right man to direct a Superman film.

Warner Bros should have gone after Sam Raimi!!!! He'd be the best proven director to be in charge of the reboot!

Well it's the times... I don't really blame the producers. But to be honest if they wanted a good Superman they should've gone after Sam Raimi instead of Chris Nolan. Raimi's Spiderman is closer in spirit to Supes than Batman's ever been.

Superman is supposed to pack and supercompress his suit(kent) into a pouch in the back of his cape according to the original superboy/Man saga. Thats where he puts his suit. if he droped it everytime,that would be awkward everytime he wanted to be kent again,hed have to go home and get afresh one. plus , i could see him getting into a elevator shaft...but an elevator and then go up thru what..?? the ceiling?,the roof? they did'nt treat this film with enough respect ,tho Brandon was great in it!

Idk, maybe they were just trying to avoid the Powerpuff Girl Exit, for some reason (where a hero/heroine crashes through the ceiling rather than going outside first).

Leaving his clothes behind in an elevator shaft makes a hell of a lot more sense than his regular clothes simply disappearing to reveal the Superman uniform like in the old movies. That was just lazy.

Superman Returns , far too few hits and way to many misses.Should have been one of the biggest blockbuster movies ever but ended up being miscast ,boring,too nostalgic and when you compare it to THE DARK KNIGHT it falls way short of what could have been.
