@AarynThi , I make my cat work out for at least 3 hours a day. She is up to a half marathon. She does 3.1 miles in 12 minutes. Just kidding, She gets about as much work out as me. We're a couple of couch potatoes :)
Treats always work best. It did not take but a few days. Start with giving them a treat when they jump on the treadmill. Then turn it on the slowest it goes. My other kitty will not go on it so I guess it depends on their personality.
why not put bait at the treadmill to encourage the cats to run/walk after it, its only a suggestion

haha my cat does the same thing! lol and we never even trained him or used treats or anything, he just hops on while my mom is walking on it.
