I worked at a company in the early 80's that had a warehouse on stanton ave in the hole next to lincoln ave and we still got railcars. The line was abandoned shortly after that and i believe sorta purchased most of the right away. Its a shame because this would've been a great route for light rail. It paralleled 71 starting at eggelston ave thru walnut hills, evanston, the heart of norwwood.
Isn't this the Oak Street tunnel along I-71? If so, the line was still in operation in the 1950's when my father worked for te Baldwin Piano Co. Nice video.
Also, the narrow gauge theory would make sense. There's a section of blocked-off tunnel in the far east side of the Greyhound parking lot, and I always thought it was a subway tunnel.
Was part of the Cincinnati, Lebanon and Northern Ry, later Pennsylvania and Penn Central. Station was where the Bus Station is and the track went out the middle of Eggleston Ave with factories on both sides. There was a larger station where Sawyer Point park is now.
There is a book about it. There are two abandoned bridges across I-71, one south of the tunnel and one north of it. It is a shame what the vandals and trash dumpers have done.
I think this, along with the other tunnel, were part of the narrow gauge line who's terminal was at what is now the location of the Greyhound station.

@ct1600-- Entirely possible. The route does seem to pass directly to the downtown area. The two tunnels are basically running parallel to I-71.
