  • I have eczema too. It's on my fingers, arms, back, and a little bit on my legs. When I first when to the doctor they told me it was genetic and can pop up when ever. It didn't used to be this bad and is annoying because I am a college student and have a lot of stress, but putting on my medicated cream and keeping my skin moisturized does help.

  • I have eczema and have tried nearly everything... treatment like this is temporary!! Im currently trying chinese herbal treatment which claims to clear it in 3 weeks!!

  • Many eczema sufferers have gluten intolerance that often times leads to psoriasis and eczema. There is specific testing that can determine if this is the case. Getting to the cause is always better that just treating the symptoms. Sometimes an allergy to makeup, or other skin products can also be a causative factor.

  • They say not to use those steroid creams that much because it thins your skin. I can't imagine putting any around my eyes - a place that has thin skin as it is. I had severe eczema on my hands for years and tried all those prescription creams and lotions, and the eczema always came back. Last year, I found Cortizone 10's Eczema cream (with restora) and it has practically CURED my eczema. Look up the reviews online.

  • @Lindsay1581 cortizone can thin your skin too tho...

  • @FallAutumnFall True, hydrocortisone cream in general thins skin. Over-the-counter creams can contain about 1% of hydrocortisone, but prescription creams contain much more, which puts you at a greater risk for skin-thinning.

  • I had no idea that I had eczema until I saw this video. I thought I had severe dry skin around my eyes. I tried very expensive eye serum and cream. No wonder none of them worked. I will call a dermatologist . Thank you for sharing your experience.

  • What helped me is Cera Ve in the cream form, get it in a jar, and is about fourteen dollars. You can get it at Wal-mart. Also, Ammonium Lactate Cream, 12% prescription form cream in a tube. The bonus of this cream is to use it all over your face, it softens and ex foliates. It's wonderful and takes away any dryness. Great part is no steroids!!! I read in a natural healing book, people with eczema lack cerimides in their skin. Cera Ve cream has cerimides. I put it b4 make-up. xoxo

  • i have eczema all over my legs so i sometimes i cant wear shorts and also if u dont want it to severe then in the summer make sure u dont stay in the pool to long because of the chlorine and if u have a pool or a jacuzzi make sure u dont put alot of chlorine beacuse it could affect ur eczema

  • I hate it SO MUCH when you want to take a shower, but you remeber the pain from the exczema. I hate it SO MUCH when you want to wear a tang top, but the dis-colored skin is imbarassing. I hate it SO MUCH how certain clothes, even cute ones, irratate it. I'v had ecxzema for my whole life, which is 14 years. It sucks. Can somone suggest anything to me? I'v tried all kinds of stuff even prescribed stuff. Never works; hence, it comes back in a different spot. Screw excezma. And thankyou.

  • @1roxylinkinparklover hi i have eczema like that too! this is a pointless reply too u becuase sorry but i dont have a sugestion sorry :( i just wanted to tell u that ur not alone with that :) btw im 13

  • @supersupersuperable It's okay girl. It acually helped a little knowing an actual person is faced with this problem to instead of my docter saying," Oh! Well there are a lot of people who have the same thing you do." Lol. It sucks, and its extremely imbarassing. :|

  • I had eczema on my leg for almost 10 years....and guess how i got rid of it in 3 weeks? Palmer's coco butter. It works like a charm, smells good and you can put it on all the time. The best part is that since eczema can scar, the coco butter helps clear away scars. my eczema has been gone for over a year and my skin is super beautiful now :)

  • Thanks for the info, I have been having Eczema on My Hands and Knuckles, Its Christmas time and Crazy Stress, bothers me more in the winter time, Swelling in the knuckles. My Dermatologist gave me a similar steroidal cream, it it works, but sometime as I take steroids for my asthma I didn't wan to take to much of different steroids. I been using Carmex Original Healing Ointment it has mineral oil and Camphor and Menthol which helps take the pain away its like an anesthetic.hydrocortisone cream.

  • thanks soo much! i have it on my inner corner...im about to go call my dermo right now!!

  • Dang you're gorgeous :]

  • thanx :)

  • This is exactly what I'm dealing with! When I was younger, I have eczema all over my body. But with medicines and lotions, I was able to clear up any eczema that was infecting my everyday life. Recently, I've noticed how dry and flaky my the skin around my eyes seems to be. I can't cover it with make up and my moisturizer doesn't help. I'm going to make an appointment with my doctor and she what she can do for me!

Thank you so much. You seem to be quite intelligent and well worded!

  • thanks :) was Helpful video

  • @OfficialAlexisN and right now, my knuckle is actually split across, and it hurts to move it, and im told not to scratch it, and i dont, but my dad always tells me to put lotion on when i start to get itchy, but it doesnt help at all, my doctor says it does, but im not her

  • if anyone has eczema search ELOCOM on google. it has been my best friend for 18 years. heals it in about 2 days

  • guys and girls just putting on creams or lotions will not stop eczema. eczema does not have to b a lifelong condition, it is 100% curable. dont listen to the doctors. watch my video to learn how to cure this. im just an 18 year old boy that also had to face eczema on my face but it is practically gone

  • Respond to this video... Ive this to named seborrheic dermatitis. Let me know if you still use it and gives it 100% remission and for how long? thanks

  • i have it on my hands and it sucks! so painful.

  • @roxanne55 Me 2 it sucks but I find using bee balm helps amazingly with the burning. Hope this helps (:

  • you dont have to deal with eczema. The American Institute of Advanced Medicne is now treating eczema and other skin diseases worldwide. you dont have to look any further. They have 25 years of experience using FDA approved medication with no known side effects and a 95% success rate. contact them at 1-877-414-2426 or theaiam.com

  • Anyone heard of cetraben?

  • My eczema was really bad at school once and I had blotches all over my face and neck, as you could imagine I was very embarrassed, I was 11 then. My moisturiser had run out and I was panicking and the dry skin was getting too bad so I tried to rub it off in the toilets and that was when I say the soap and put some on, but it was relaxing then it made my face all stiff and it gave me pain to move after that, I was so distressed and called home, I couldn't manage the embarrassment and uncomfort!

  • I have really bad eczema on my legs, I refuse to wear shorts unless I'm with REALLY close family, or if I know I'm never going to see people again, I'm embarrassed by it. My dad's always telling me to stop scratcing and to use the lotions I have and I do, I do the most damage im my sleep and I don't notice until the next morning when I see a layer of skin missing.

  • @MissyJ1995 wear gloves to bed! i have scars everywhere from scratching in my sleep and my mom bought me these little gloves...and it helps...

  • @sourlemonsxx I've tried that on several occasions, when I wake up, one is half way across the room and the other one is under my pillow, or something like that.

  • i've had eczema all my13 years. i have it mainly on my wrists, behind my knee, my fingers, arms, neck and chest. i used to get allergy shots when i was 3 until i was 10. but recently i've been using Ellidel its a prescription cream that doesn't get rid of the condition but it stops irritation and you wont be all itchy and dry as much. its the best product in my opinion :)

  • i'm 17 and have had eczema my whole life. it flares up on my arms and wrists and what ive learned NOT to do is use heavily scented lotions/creams. it made my skin really red and inflammed. but i've found that aveeno products are AMAZING. i use this whipped aveeno cream that comes in a circular container (i got it from target) and paired with any of their moisturizers keeps my eczema calm for the whole day. and it works best to put it on right after a shower (pores are open).

  • Want Evidence? here you go Part 1 Discoid/Nummular Eczema Cure Video Evidence

  • thanks for addressing this emily. i've had this problem too. only on my eyelids, thats the only place. for me i found a baby lotion that makes it complety healed and keeps it gone. Aveeno baby daily moister loition

  • I have eczema all over my body and I've had it for all of my 16 years. It sucks because I always have to wear long sleeves and pants because then people will make rude comments asking "oh my god what's wrong with you?" Gah! Teenagers! Lol.

  • @Spottygiraffe4 iv'e had it too and it sucks, there is some really good products you can use though whats really helped me like lucas paw paw ointment, hydrozole for really bad eczema i would only use it on the body not the face and also dermaveen moisturising lotion for the face.

  • @Spottygiraffe4 ugh i know i've had the same problem! just on my legs though, but i always wore jeans because i was too embarrassed to wear shorts. have you been to a doctor though? mine prescribed me this body cream stuff that has really worked and cleared things up.

  • thumbs up if you despise your eczema!!!!!

  • i have it on my hands it SUCKS!

  • I have had eczema my whole life and i get it on my arms, hands, and fingers. Sometimes other places too. I have a perscription cream for it! it really sucks :( My skin gets so dry and irritated when i wash my hands with soap and i cant do the dishes because my hands get irritated to the dish soap. I also got eczema on my eyes just like you! I had it all over my eyelid up to my brow bone and i put eye moisturizer on and it didnt help so i didnt know what was wrong. But one day it just stopped.

  • My daughter had to deal with eczema her whole life till i found an all natural Organic Lavender-Honey Healing Cream from face naturals. It's completely healed my daughter's eczema.

  • i have excema all over my body except not on my face since i was a baby ur lucky u only had it for a damn month i have to deal with this every day all i can say is to avoid long hot showers, allergic foods, dry skin, overheating, and sweating. Make sure to keep your body from getting to dry so, i use cetaphil lotion after each shower which kind of helps

  • I recently have this problem above my eyelids too. I had been wondering if I had developed an allergy to one of my eye products or if it was a slight bout of eczema. I haven't changed my routine in a long time though. I also found out that my grandmother gets eczema on her hands and in front of her ears... so maybe it is a genetic thing? If anybody has any suggestions for over the counter products that would clear this up, I'd really appreciate it!

  • You k ow whY, I've been dealing with this since 4. I'm 23 now and it's painful. I still get it but high school was the worst. I would stay home for days and I went to the doctor. I have very oily skin and have this. All u can do is try to sustain it, it will never fully go away. I speak from experience, to all who really have it not just fairly. I feel ur pain.

  • i bet you dont have that bullshit rash. im so tired of these pharma troll videos "although theres no cure we have various treatments" [which dont work]. unless you get that fucking monster rash that makes you scratch every minute everyday you'll give this hopeless advice. how can you deal with it when it makes you depressed and kills your esteem!

  • I had this happen, the skin on both eyelids started flaky and ended up almost looking like water blisters and peeling skin. Ended up being that I was allergic to the eye shadow I had been using. I can only use Almay and Cover Girl eyeshadows or it will come back.

  • Thank you so much for your video. Your skin looks so healthy. Just listening to your story gives me hope. I've had eczema for two years and I've had to change my diet, no dairy, no tree nuts, no sugar, and no wheat products. I also can not eat apples, oranges or bananas. I don't use alcohol or tobacco and I'm not taking any prescription medications. I do experience stress though and I try to manage that. Anyway, Thank you so much and I'm so glad you were cured. Have a great day!

  • You have helped me so much with this video!!! My doctors kept telling me it was a food allergy but now we have found it to be eczema. If I had not watched this video and brought it up to a dr I would have kept wasting money for things that did not help. Thanks!!!

  • You're lucky, I have eczema my whole life. on the side of my neck because I play violin for the past ten year of my life, as well as on the apples of my cheeks. Usually when my eczema flares up, I apply a medicated cream called hydrocortisone. You'll need to get it with a doctor's prescription, but it does wonders! It reduces the redness as well as reducing the flakiness!

If your eczema bothers you, do go to your doctor and ask about hydrocortisone cream :)

  • I had exczema on both of my under eyes and my doctor gave me betnovate cream. Its amazing nd now when i feel it coming up again i apply tge cream at night and then my skin would be perfect by morning

  • Hm yeah dry skin itching it's a bitch....how about swelling and pain ???

Trust me I had it all my live but got it all over my body with swelling and pain so please stop smiling about it it ruind my live...this condition your talking about it called dry skin

    Fuck you

  • I had this problem on my eyelids.

  • i think i have it on my cheeks and some on my nose, i made a doctors appointment but its not till a month. i don't know what to do about it. its really bad. i cant wear any facial makeup because it makes it even more flaky and look horrible!! i just started college and its embarrassing i wish i knew a kind of lotion or creme to fix my problem till my doctors appointment because nothing else is working for me.

  • My son who is 11yrs has this on his arms and even some on his legs. We have been prescribed a couple of lotions/cremes, but it does not go away. What did your doctor prescribe you and did yours go away for good? My sons went away with a cream that had steroids, however once we stop using it, it comes back. So I really don't know how to get rid of this. Thank you!

  • I used to have eczema on both my eyes, and down one cheek on my face. I discovered Dr Hauschka's Cleansing Cream and Rose Day Cream, as well as Mario Badescu's Control Cream, and they have worked wonders. My skin is prone to flare ups every now and again, usually when I get stressed, but within 24 hours of using these products, it calms down again. Cannot recommend highly enough. I also had a few scares from where I had scratched my eczema - Bio-Oil soon got rid of those!

  • ive had tonnes of eczema all over my face for 2 years, i cant even really wear make up but at the moment my skin is perfect, but some times it gets so bad that i just feel like shit, I recomend CETRABEN cream, doublebase, diprobase, aqueous cream and betnovate (NOT FOR FACE!! I use on my arms) and hydrocortisone, these are what i use... :) Dont use soap! Only on your armpits and privates :L

  • Stress IS a huge trigger, I remember it getting really bad when I had piano performances or exams. I've learned to deal with stress a lot better now though, and I haven't had a problem in about 3-4 years, yay! (vs having a problem with it coming back regularly for like 8 years!).

This won't work for the eyes, but for anywhere else, it's better to avoid tight, and really synthetic clothes, as it can irritate it more.

    :)

  • I used to have craaaazy eczema when I was younger, mostly on the inside of my elbows and knees, and sometimes on the back of my hand or around my nose. It was pretty horrible, so dry, itchy and red. Just plain painful!

Basically I got prescribed a cortisone cream, probably kind of like the one they gave you, and that works pretty well. Mine was pretty persistent, though, and I also had to moisturize with vaseline and things like eucerin, and then sometimes going back to the cortisone.

  • Sodium Lauryl Sulphate, the basis of most commercial shampoos sold is used by scientific labs to " end" any experiments or skin cultures that they want to stop.It is known to be carcinogenic and not such a great thing to use on the eyes. I think a better route might be to look after the skin using NATURAL oils/herbs to soothe and feed the skin. It worked for my daughter and for several hundred other people I have helped in the last 10 years.

Look at Anousta in the UK. and then ECZEMA.

  • If you put aquaphor heavily on it every night before you go to bed, it makes it go away, I use it EVERY night or else my skin gets so dry and flakey

  • I have it on the back of my hands. vaseline on it ever night worked wonders. i dont even get it in the winter any more!

  • I have it on my arms :(

  • I use Dream Cream from Lush on my arms and I absolutely love it. It has worked wonders for my skin. :)

  • @Peacedeuce I did the same thing!! It really does help :] Nd i also used this cream called Hydrocortizone

  • topicort also works wonders!

  • @Peacedeuce I have it everywhere. v.v When I was little it was so bad in between the back of my legs it was bleeding from my scratching. I also have it on my eyelids, sides of my face, lips, legs, arms, in between arms & legs, neck, and fingers. It's better though, but you can still notice the scar in between my arms and side of my face. :/

  • I went to my dermatologist over a year ago with extremely itchy and irritated skin that was getting to the point where I was scratching my skin raw. (I have sensitive skin to begin with so occasion I do experience itchiness when it comes to products with perfume but never this bad). My doctor thought it was eczema and first thing she advised was not take extremely hot showers because it can also cause eczema to break out on your skin.

  • @histfanatic Same. That's why I take lukewarm showers or cold ones.

  • @histfanatic Yea I know it's bad for you but for some reason hot showers help reduce itchiness (for me). But I try not to take long showers. Just about 5 minutes.

  • I get Eczema really bad on my hands, my nose and chin sometimes my arms also!

  • I've have stages in my life of horrific eczema on my legs, elbows, upper lip and eyebrows.. here are my findings:

Doc advised Tanning bed -very monitored sessions very short duration but cleared it entirely everywhere except my face.

Food Allergy testing/Other Allergy - go to doc and ask for one.I discovered i was severely allergic to nuts and citrus fruits. Carry epi pen now. This can sometimes be underlying skin irritations.

Non drowsy antihistamine and vaseline is great!

  • I have occasional Eczema around my hairline. I hate it but a visit to the doctor helped me alot. I use it only when my Eczema flares up........... thankyou for the helpful video my friend :)

  • I have extreamlt sensitive eyes, and frequently get eczema. I've been to the doctors but because my skin is extreamly sensitive I can't use the products they prescribe because some are damaging and even thining. So I use massives amount of sorbolene on the effected area, witch is ideal for sensitve skin. Though this is on a temporary fix.

  • omg i havea eczema too and its soo horrible

but thankfully i only get it in the winter when its cold. i have it on my hands and face and its sooo annoying because my skin is red, dry, itchy and very unattractive. i always try to find long sleeved shirts to cover up my hands. and i especially hate it when people go like "ewww what is that?" worst feeling ever :(

The doctor perscribed medication but i found that petroluem jelly works best.

  • I've had this problem since I can remember. I usually get it on my temples, brow bone, hands, wrists, arms, legs, neck...practically my whole body. The aveeno lotions work well on my skin and the sarna cream helps calm itchiness. I have to go back to the doctor though to get my prescribed cream.

  • @Riana718 Aveeno doesn't do much for me, but sarna does help. :) Try getting some prescribed hydrocortizone.

  • I had this problem when i was around nine yeaars old near my lips, what helps to bring moisture back into the skin is petroleum jelly. It works like a charm, i used to apply a hefty amount at night and by morning my skin had absorbed the jelly and looked normal. It was a good trick I learned the medicines did not really help me. I hope this helps others. : )

  • PLEASE I NEED HELP!

Hi girls, I'm from Chile and I bought a Bobbi Brown eye concealer, was very amazing the first day, but! this week appears under eye circle allergie, first I feel irritation and now I have a texture like peeling, too dry and I don't know what can I do...Never! Never! I had problems in that area. I'm waiting for someone that feels the same, I think that is not eczema, but wich cream can I use? our oil?

    Please :( hel!

  • @kperucita86 :

hola.

GRACIAS CHIQUILLA!!

  • You look so pretty and fresh! What lip gloss are you wearing? I love it!

  • Hi Emily can you show us how to get the look you have, in this video you look so pretty. Thank you

  • Hi Emily,

I have had the same issues on my eye. I understand what your are saying about makeup not applying the right way. I couldn't even were eye makeup when it happen, I used cortisone from the drug store on my eye lids worked for me. I hope your medication is helping, keep it with you at all times never know when a break out will happen. Thanks for sharing this video with us.. Take care.

  • i have had eczema my whole life .... it goes away and comes back sometimes i get it on my eye lids):

  • @babyyyyy1231 Same. :0

  • I have eczema on my elbows and a little on my legs but never on my face. It went away for a couple years but now it came back :(

  • you look like ashley judd. :)

  • awesome video! :D

im really happy looking at the comments, because i realize im not alone and that alot of people have it (:

i get eczema on inside of elbows& behind knees (when i was a child, it was a HUGE problem on my face)

but i found a cream that stops the icthing and makes it go away (:

luckly im starting to grow out of my allergies so i barley trigger eczema anymore.

  • Great video! This was very helpful to me. I had this in large spots all over my face for a week or two. It was quite scary because normally, my face is oily. My eye got all puffy and hard to open. My skin was tight and flaking all over. My 13 yr old skin looked 80!

  • I use cortizone extra strength and it works wonders. It is the only thing that will help with my eczema

  • i have a mix of eczema and psoriasis...when i was younger i had it all over my arms and legs and was so embarrassed bc my skin was white, my mother used to make me take a bath with oatmeal and avon oil about 2 times a week, i grew out of it then in hs it moved to my face around my lips and eyes. it used to burn to the point if i didnt sit in front of an ac i felt like dying, now i have it on my head and from the scabs have lost half my hair hopefully i will grow out of this too to gain hair back

  • I have allways had it on my body, but 2 months ago i got it in a serious case in the face and im seeing my skindoctor often, cause it hurts, sting, itch and so on and we cant find something that really works. i cant wear makeup, i look horrible, crazy red and it feels real tight. last month i had it really bad under my eyes and i still do but now my eyelid is all poofy. it sucks!

  • I have eczema all over my knees and part of the rest of my legs. I have it on my arms too. It sucks heaps. I've never worn shorts out in public because it looks so disgusting, and whenever I wear my uniform, people are always looking at how gross my legs are. I just keep praying to God that it goes away, and thankfully its getting a tad bit better.

  • I had eczema on my eyelid a few times. It basically makes my crease red & very itchy, & if it swells, it will actually crack a tiny bit & secrete moisture. This happened for the first time when I was in college. Stress probably caused it. Now & then I get flare-ups but it soon rights itself. Good to see you are better!

  • African Black Soap (from Coastal Scents) is supposed to be excellent for treating eczema. Its 100% natural and ive heard nothing but the best reviews from people who have tried it for dry skin.

  • i have the charming excema on my chin, eyelids, between my eyebrows, between and on the back of my fingers at various times. cortisone is the only thing that works with any effeciency but the time restriction is there because, over time, cortisone can thin the skin. take care and good luck.

  • The only thing I hate about my son having eczema is the fact that he can't have anything with fragrance!!!!! And I just found out by one of his doctors is that we can't use just any tooth paste off the store shelf b/c most tooth paste have baking soda which dry out the skin!!!! Question is why wasn't I told about this when they told me my son had eczema when he was a few months old!!!!

  • Thanks for sharing something so personal with us Emily. I remember the day my doc told me I had Psoriasis of the scalp...I cried for days thinking I would look like a creature(a family member had it badly when i was young). Now, I still have it under control, and nowhere near looking like a creature, I embrace anything that comes along...as long as I can smell the rosed!! Lol. God bless you and Tyler, and btw, you're still gorgeous as ever. Never sweat the small stuff! Stress does play a role!

  • I noticed when I wore more eye makeup, it would really affect the eye area and make it really dry. It got red, puffy, and scaly. I got Eucerin (concentrated formula, in like a tub, white small tub) and it went away almost immediately.

  • Betamethasone cream works wonders for eczema, cleared mine up in less than a week.

  • I've had Eczema all my life it went from my body as a baby to my face as an adult so now i have it around both eye's and it touch and go with the changing of the seaons thats when it gets bad for me please keep us up to date with your condition thanks

  • I've had eczema all over my body for a really long time. Haven't worn shorts for at least five years because my legs are so scarred, and my entire face is what you described about your eye. I wore a scarf every single day for about three months because my neck looked like it had been mauled ... And I've tried a million billion prescriptions and creams and nothing has worked. Makes life a bitch.

  • @13bookworm Don't let it take over your life or who you are!! I went for years not wearing shorts cause I thought my legs were too skinny. I'm 52 and I have finally gotten to the point in life where I feel if ppl don't want to look at my legs, that's THEIR problem,,,I'm not gonna worry about 'em anymore..at least I HAVE legs to walk on! Then I cried about psoriasis, but now thank God that I have hair on my head. If you look at ppl who are less fortunate than you, it might help. God bless!

  • How did you manage to get your "work face" on with the eczema?

  • As usual Emily you send us some great topics for discussion and do it with grace :)

  • I have very severe eczema. I've delt with it my whole life. Within the last three years it's been extremely bad. I have it on my hands, neck, forearms and eyes. It's such a pain to deal with. I've tried so many creams and methods... You can message me if anyone has questions :]

PLEASE BE CAREFUL WITH STEROIDS! Try to stay away from steroids as much as possible. It can affect your bones (if it's an oral pill) and/or thinned out skin.

  • i have a question. a couple of days ago i bought a sulfur spot treatment to get rid of a stubborn bump on the side of my face. i put it on before my lotion. when i put my lotion on it spread the treatment in places i did not want it. i thought oh well it will be ok for one night. well it wasn't. my cheeks are extremely dry. they are so dry that it looks like i have deep wrinkles. do you think this is something that will clear up on its own or do you think i should see a doctor?

  • Missing makeup tutorials.

  • I wore scarfs ALL THE TIME, i got away with it because the weather was cold but i was scared about the summer weather coming up because i would have to wear a tank top or something that showed off my skin. i went to my doctor and he prescribed me some ointments for it and since then it has cleared up. it's not totally clear but it looks WAY better than it did before. it turns out i am allergic to sweet smelling perfumes, body wash, etc. I now use sensitive skin stuff, even laundry detergent lol

  • i've had eczema recently in the beginning of March and it was annoying. it was all over my chest, my forearms, my neck, and breast. It itched soooo bad and the discoloration it gave me was making me feel self conscious. I am a black girl, so on my chest area you could totally tell where my 'normal' skin was and the affected eczema skin reside.

  • i had eczema in the same area on my eye, and it wasn't fun haha

  • I had a very similar severe dryness and swelling around the eye area. I finally figured out that I was allergic to Clinique wash-away face gel cleanser. Thank God I realized it was the cleanser because I would never have thought I could be allergic to a cleanser. Good luck with your Eczema. I went back to my Cetaphil cleanser.

  • I see ALOT of other product suggestions in the comments, but one that I know of is Cliniques comfort on call. It is skin allergist tested, 100% fragrance free and is proven relief and comfort for exzema

  • interesting, thanks Em!

  • Thanks for the video! I also suffer from Eczema. It moves from body to face, face to body and right now, is my entire face suffering also my neck. It gets worst during that time of the month and control it with a prescribed "steroid type" ointment. Makeup is always an issue, especially foundations and blush :-/ BUT, what else can we do. Thanks again for sharing :)

  • I had eczema real bad for about a year. I went to the doctor and he said I had a classic case of eczema. I said I can't have that, That's for old people, and he smiled and gave me a prescription that did not work, in fact I itched and scratched more. Noting worked, until a girl gave me a shea butter sample. I used shea butter and the itching stopped completely. and within 6 to 8 weeks the marks disappeared. I buy 100% shea in bulk and whip up my own shea body butter.

  • Great video, I'm sure many people will find it interesting.

I've dealt with eczema for the last...well, almost ever since I remember. It's true it may be caused by stress, but I also had one after trying a new deodorant, which ended up in a huge eczema 'cause of the allergic reaction :s

I just wanted to add to your very accurate comments that you can catch eczema from someone else and people may catch it from you, so try not to touch it and to wash your hands if you do.

    Hope it helps! xx

  • emily, god forbid you get another flare up, please try cetaphil from the drugstore. it's my miracle cream. if you need something stronger, go to your dermatologist and ask for cera ve. that stuff *works*!

  • Thanks for sharing. It happens a lot to people. Thanks for addressing this skin issue. Your makeup looks great, by the way!

  • i've dealt with eczema all my life & have it in my bloodline.. i've had in all over.. my face & body area.. i've experienced this same issue last winter & just used cortizone 10 every night & it was gone after about a week.

  • I've had eczema all my life and, as a whole, all over my body. My legs, arms, face, chest, back, I've had it everywhere before. Right now it's all over my upper right arm, my shoulder, and going down my back. It's just something I have to live with, nothing will completely cure it. Just feel lucky that it's not that bad, emily! :)

  • @KissesInTheDark I've had it real bad all over my body too. Cortizone 10 did not work. noting worked. Then someone gave me a sample of shea butter. The shea butter stopped all the itching and removed all the marks that the scratching left. I use shea body butter that I make myself and it has not returned. That's if anyone want an all natural remedy. Health & Blessings.

  • Ive suffered with exzema all my life, When I was I had it so bad, I was covered head to foot in it, not just dryness like big red rashes that just always bleeded and got infected, I had it In my hair and everything, I used loads of different products and my mam used to slather so many lotions on bandage on it but nothing worked! I still have problems with it now but only when I eat something Im allergic to or use a certain product, I just grew out of it! Great video x

  • @cosmeticsmile when I was a child**

  • I thought it was when people have those big red bumps and its widespread..? not just flakey and dryness?

  • Time for my story. I have it and have had it for years. It started in my scalp. I get bumps that itch something awful. It's now on my legs. Aveeno lotion has helped quite a bit.

  • i have had eczema since i was a child.

its pretty severe but by using a lotion called aveeno (the green label), dove(onle the original white bar) and vasaline my skin is just fine

  • it's definitely eczema b/c i had dis problem on my cheek area just a few a weeks ago. the area was so dry that i'm pretty sure pus was coming out of my pores to moisturize it! so wat i did was i first exfoliated the area really well. makes sure the pus wasn't still coming out, and i put a THICK layer of vaseline petroleum jelly. the area looked so bad & red, dat now i have a red-brownish scar on my cheek!>8[ n makeup can't cover the damn thing up! i've had eczema all my life, i'm 16 :]

  • i had this in the same spot as you and went to my dermatologist: it's called perioral (rosacea-like) dermatitis. it's very common in younger women. usually eye or mouth area. it can be caused by numerous things (products,stress..) and is easy to treat. he prescribed me pills (cream? don't remember for sure) which helped almost instantly. he also advised me to NOT put any moisturizer on the area even though you feel like it cause it's dry. if you had it once it's likely to come back (cf. herpes).

  • my mom has it on her hands but she pronounces it exeeeeema

  • @ItsMeRuffles the dictionary pronounces it both ways

  • omg i have eczema too on my thighs and on my arms, i have brought it up to my doctor and all he said was to put lotion on it. I have had it for about 2 years now and i hate it, the summer of last year i would refuse to wear shorts because i was so self consious, i still have it and i still hate it, but i do wear shorts, yet im still self consious. i have no idea want to do, but great videos, im glad im not alone (:

  • @ginabobinax34 Well, I've had it since the day I came out of my mother's vagina so stop complaining.

  • @misterfreehugs was i complaining? i was sharing my freakin story, so stop being a bully.

  • @ginabobinax34 you should try nutratopic from isdin. i was very self consious too i didnt wear any shirts without sleeves in the summer only things with sleeves. but that cream helped me a lot. and getting sun on it helped too. i'm sory my english is not that good. but i hope it helps you because i know how it bothers. oh and if you buy it there is the cream and the lotion buy the cream because its thicker..

  • @lybanese thanks soo much! i will deff. try it out

  • I'm about to turn 17 and have had very bad Eczema since the age of 1 and it always effects my makeup. It makes my foundation look flakey and and just throws off the effort i try to put in to make it appear better. Luckly it has gotten better over the years however it still effects my confidence now. Thanks for sharing your experience with it in this video :)

  • I had eczema for about 4 years now and its on my neck and where my arms fold its very annoying. whenever i have a test or something and i get stressed or nervous it gets soo bad..im always scarred its going to spread to my face..this video was very helpful thank you

  • i have had eczema since i was a baby. I didn't really take care of it much, so now, I hate TONS of DOT scars on my legs. I don't feel comfortable wearing shorts, skirts, or anything that shows my legs. So let this be a lesson to people with eczema: TAKE CARE OF IT!!!!

  • I have eczema and it gets soo soo annoying! I only get it in the spring and summer though. :S

  • hey, thanks for talking about this. It seems coincidental that you have done a video on this because i am hearing alot about eczema and other skin issues. Thanks for helping provide information on that. (:

  • Thanks for this video. My husband has it sooooo bad. It's all over his body.

  • hello..i like your videos.. check mine out and let me know what u think and if you like maybe subcribe..

    thanks.

  • great viedo...i've got a skin virus & my skin is very moody...i have to change products from time to time...i tend to need products that mouisturize, doesn't have a strong scent, (try to find something that seems to have a nice clean and fresh scent), I am allergic to the sun,& I have to limit time I am in the sun because my skin burns easily, and tend to sweat easily, which can cause problems in-it-self.so thank you for doing this viedo,it shows even folks with good skin can have problems.thanks

  • My two little boys (2 and 3) have it so bad especially as babies. It's not fun to deal with and don't be surprised if it comes back or goes elsewhere.

  • I used to get this right under my belly button,at first we thought it was from the metal part on my jeans haha. I dont have it anymore tho,my doctor gave me some kind of cream that helped it.

  • I'm 21 and have had eczema since I was in 7th grade. My skin is always ridiculously dry and it's really hard to deal with, but I've found that Eucerin is VERY helpful for me. Every Eucerin product I've used I've used around my eye area (since that's one of the driest places) and I've never had a problem. Cetaphil is another great brand (but Eucerin seems to be slightly more moisturizing). Luckily you only had that small area to deal with because eczema is definitely not fun!

  • i have eczema. when i was little i had it REALLY bad, and the doctors told my parents only to wash me every few weeks, and every day, three times a day, i was covered in cream (unguentum merc) luckily now im not so bad, apart form if i have a lot of sugary foods, or a lot of eggs :) i just use unguentum merc every few days to keep on top of it :)

  • Hey Em. Glad you got that controlled! I've had eczema all my life, everywhere but my face. I'm very surprised your doctor recommended that baby shampoo. The best thing to use on irritated skin is something with oatmeal, unscented and usually Aveeno is really great for eczema. But yes stress causes it but also lack of sun - as I don't get this at all in the summer. I find vitamins good for the skin, water and a bit of sun really makes a huge difference :) Looking good darling! xoxo

  • I love your make up here, what blush and lipstick are you wearing?

  • I'm having this problem right now! Thank you so much for this video!

  • a really good cream for eczema is nutratopic from isdin. i had really bad eczema and that is what helped me and i went from having it in my face and arms and hands and fingers to only having a litlle bit in the palm of one of my hands.

i hope that helps other people because i spent years trying everything and nothing really worked for me.

  • i got it on my fingers when i was about 12 it is not very searious but i did go to the doctor and recieved a special cream and it helps a bunch!!!! go to the doctor and ask for a cream and it should clear upa nd do not freak out about this and try not to itch it at all because of course it will peel off but do get some cream or something :) hope i helped some!!! - Janie

  • @jlalover44 lol so i see you got a cream :) it really does help sorry i didn't realize you got some because i was not that far into the video :) but anyway!!!! good luck!

  • I know this sounds awkuard... but your eyebrows look... unequal. The right one is higher than the left one =P

but yea, very helpful vid. I get a flaky forehead sometimes =(

  • I started getting excema on my arms & was told I had ring worm by a family practioner... I freaked out and kept long sleeve shirts on for a couple weeks, not wanting to spread it. I was putting cream on to treat ring worm and it just wouldn't go away. So I broke down and went to a dermatologist. It turned out to be excema. All of that extra stress (maaking it worse) worrying that it was ring worm for nothing! My advise is to go directly to a SKIN doctor because it can be mis-diagnosed easily!

  • i have had eczema my whole life but recently has not been so bad since i have learnt what works for me and how to control it, stress and even heat is a trigger for my skin. there is no real remedy for eczema because even if you get rid of it now it could come back again even after years, thx for this vid it really helped

  • @cmif0019 I know what you mean! Mine goes away for a year or two and BAM! It comes back. But the worst I had it when I was 8 and it was so severe back of my knees. I found with the heat - say I don't let my skin breathe - esp in winter and all those warm layers can trigger it. But in summer I don't get this at all.
