Coumba and I met at St Nick's Pub in Harlem. Just learned of her passing via these videos. Blessed be her spirit, her voice and all those who heard her powerful singing. I am writing an article about her as I type. Cannot believe it. RIP. She once said to me that she wished to sing like Ella Fitzgerald. I thought what you do is of the same brilliant web of silk, strong and feminine, beautiful and mesmerizing. Bless her soul and the gift I had of knowing her only briefly.
Today is Mother's Day, Sunday May 10th 2009 and GOD has chosen this day to silence this great voice. RIP Coumba Sidibé. You are loved and you will never be forgotten.
Its a clip from 1985 with Coumba Sidibé (the singer), Mamadou Sidibé (the Kamale ngoni player) and Zoumana Yoro (the journalist). Do you have other clips of this movie? I had this movis but its lost...

Thank you for this additional info! Zoumana Yoro Traore features as a presenter in most (if not all) RTM concerts of this period.
I have the whole concert and will post more.
