OVERRATED. This burrito was a huge disappointment. Went To Lucha Libre For The First Time Tonight and Ordered the Surfin Cali. It's probably the last time i'll ever eat there. The burrito was small and not filling at all. The taste was whatever. I eat a lot of mexican food from different spots. Lolitas, Victorias, Roberto's, Armandos, Los Panchos, Rigobertos but Lucha Libre after hearing about it from Man vs Food and other people all the hype for a lame burrito. Truly Disappointed.

Tacos el Gorodo has some really good tacos...its the the most popular in San Diego and in Tijuana. TJ oyster bar has good mexican seafood. Phils BBQ is the best, theres a line of like 40 people on the daily.

@TravelChannelTV Lucha Libre is pretty incredible. I stop by for a Surfin California or Holy Mole once a week. Not authentic Mexican but theres no shame in that. There is one very authentic place though that just has the most amazing adobada (marinated pork) tacos north or south of the border. TJ style tacos. It's called Tacos El Gordo. I think it would be a great place for the show to visit if you ever come back to San Diego.

Except you might not have known that in other parts of the country, a "california cheeseburger" is a cheeseburger in the style of, say, a whopper. A burger with lettuce, tomato, and mayo. As opposed to the one with pickles, onions and ketchup and mustard (I guess that's just a cheeseburger).

And while I might get some heat for this, I don't like phil's bbq. Their meats tastes bland and they depend too much on the sauce. My choice is THE BBQ HOUSE in Ocean Beach. The meat is treated to a nice hardwood smoke, it just melts in your mouth, And their sauce compliments not overpowers the food.It's a small place but it is always busy, because good BBQ sells itself. Remember to come with a big appetite, cause you're gonna get a workout.
