First of all many thanks to your tutorial its nice and easy to understand and do step by step. But what i am wondering is. Can we add this FROZEN TEXT to a normal Picture too. I would be very gratefull if you can reply back. And for those people who didnt understand the Ctrl+Click its very easy. U see the layer box which says eg. Layer 1 Text , Layer 2 Background. You Hold your hand on Ctrl and click on the T sign on the layer. And it selects the layer itself. Hope it helps.

Click on the first layer. And then ctrl+click on the second layer you want to link. Then they will be linked. You can also link more than two layers in this manner.

I was wondering why'd you merge the two layers, that was unnecessary.Without you can change background as you like. The text is too hard to read for any public use, so I was wondering if you had some effect, which would make the text readable.

He means you merge them. You can do it by clicking the top of the 2 layers you want to merge then pressing ctrl + E

actually this is an earlier version of photoshop. what you do in the latest version of photoshp to select a layer is you ctrl+click on the 'T' in layers palatte. This is just next to the 'eye' icon in the layers palatte'. once you have your selection then you go to select->inverse on the top menubar to invert your selection. i hope this helps.

My wind effect does the oppose, it imposes the filter onto the letters itself instead of creating the streaks outside of the letters. Help.

I was having this same issue and realized it was due to having the text on a transparent background. Try putting the text over a solid black or white background and you will get the correct effect.

You can keep the background seperate if you want. Basically I have merged the background so that I can invert it later to get the colors. If you want you can give the colors directly. Remember the actual frozen effect comes with the Crystallyzing and wind and other effects.

Thanks for your comment. Please tell me have you activated the background layer by double clicking it as explained at the beginning of the tutorial? If yes then you should be able to go to Edit--> Transform and Rotate.

The most common reason for filters not working is that the bits/channel is too high most filters only work in 8bits/channel.

Image >> Mode >> 8Bits/Channel.

Well, the colors are used for contrast. In case you want to change them, you can try the remaining steps of the tutorial without the colors. For example steps which make the text appear frozen like: Pixilate, Wind, Crystallize, Curves,etc.

I still don't understand what you mean by the lignatool, but for activating text or any layer all you do is ctrl+click the layer in the layers palette. If you cannot select text that way, you first have to rasterize the text layer by right clicking on the layer in the layers palatte and select rasterize. Hope this helps.
