  • This is wonderful, thank you so much! Just one question, out of curiosity: where is the song that should be starting at 7:39, I think it's called "Give Your Heart a Try?" Otherwise, this is awesome!

  • There's more to the world than meets the eye When doubts in your mind, give your heart a try Let up a little on the wonder why And give your heart a try What is spring without the Easter Bunny? What's a rainbow that doesn't end in money? And a Valentine would certainly look stupid Without a Cupid, So, let his arrow in heart That would be a start There's more to the world than meets the eye When doubts in your mind, give your heart a try Let up a little on the wonder why And give your heart a try
  • Merry Christmas, everyone!! :)

  • Oh my goodness!!!! I literally squealed for joy when I came across this cartoon. This one of my favorites when I was a kid. Thank you so much for posting it!!!!

  • Right after the dad mouse tells Albert that he has a hard time believing in things he can't see or touch... it skips to the part where they look at kids crying in the hospital, etc. Right before that there is a song. "Let up a little on the wonder why and give your heart a try."

  • Yea!!! Nothing better for Christmas Eve morning before leaving for work!!!! Thank you and Happy Holidays!!! *^_^*

  • One of my favorite Christmas cartoons! Thanks!

  • I hope everyone has a great holiday! Thank you for all your comments - you cynical commenters too. ;-)

  • @aimstaind18 Why are there black people in the end of this. I saw this on TV and there were no black people. What type of person edited this to put blacks in it? Is this a joke?

  • i don't care how many times i see this it always gets to me. This is my all time favorite holiday special. When Albert cries and says that he's sorry, father mouse says "It's not enough to be sorry...you have to FIX WHAT YOU DID!" Then he says..."But you don't know how to fix a clock!"...Albert says "That's alright father Copernicus knew!" My heart almost explodes everytime. Anything you want to know or understand, the information is out there. Find it...then make a bad situation right!

  • I love how the Trundle family were the only ones getting presents...

  • I wish I could go back to 1979 when I first saw this.....my father was still alive the economy was decent...people had morals....and no junglebunny in the whitehouse....

  • SWEET!!

  • Thank you! I love this cartoon!

  • Santa should have a full beard (beard with a mustache), not a Donegal beard (that's the beard style made popular by the dwarves in Disney's Snow White).

  • wow santa is way too sensitive in this flick....over one letter? O_o

  • @Minyadagniriel Well technically the mouse signed his letter "all of us" so Santa thought it was from the whole town. But still you're right, Santa needs to get over himself, lol.

  • Love this movie thanks

  • Nevermind, this is the censored/cut version. There's supposed to be another song around 7:38.

  • Is this the censored version? As in, they took out a scene that used the word "gay" for happy? (And what BULLSHIT that is, right?)

  • Poor Albert

  • HUZZAH!!!!

  • FTW

  • OMG!

  • LOL

  • Long Live Santa Claus!!!!

  • THE WORD SANTA.... REVERSE THE LETTER "N" FROM THE THIRD LETTER OF THE WORD SANTA AND MAKE IT THE LAST LETTER OF THE WORD SANTA, WHAT NAME DOES IT SPELL OUT, IT IS THE PLAN TO LOSE THE REAL MEANIG OF WHAT CHRISTMAS IS REALLY ALL ABOUT.

  • @Jeaninemlk sorry about your brother.... : (

  • Trey Parker and South Park brought me here :)

  • @ellikennyslove15 interesting.... how so??

  • Comment removed

  • @aimstaind18 By the commentary of the episodie from South Park "A very crappy Christmas" where he says this is his favourite christmas short and that's because that episodie is a parody of this short. Yeah, I'm an huge fan of South Park <3

  • @ellikennyslove15 The first time I saw that South Park episode I knew they were parodying this special, lol. They are brilliant! ;D

  • @NeverDoubt1 hahaha I didn't see this christmas cartoon until south park, but when I saw it I thought "holy shit! they're geniuses! :D" ^^

  • @aimstaind18 They have a Christmas special where they sing the song, "Even a Miracle needs a hand."

  • You know why? because it is a good clean cartoon with good morals. It doesnt have cussing, sex, blasphemy and filth in it, like south park, family guy, american dad and junk like that. I was just telling my wife today that I wish xmas was like it used to be, fun warmth family and friends. You could feel it in the air. This cartoon brings back the good old days.

  • @JoezVendetta What a wuss. Wholesomeness and warm and fuzzy family fun. "Like it used to be" is how it used to be because that shit just doesn't fl anymore - kids are too cynical and smart for this stuff today.

  • @scandlabra Wow dude...wow. You suck.

  • @scandlabra SCROOGE

  • @JoezVendetta lol thts funny cuz i didnt hear the word butt and it still was enjoyable.

  • Thanks, Brings back great memories of xmas! Ahhh peaking under moms locked closet to see the Gimbels bags!

  • My favorite!!!

  • Joel grey is the dad to actress Jennifer grey (dirty dancing)

I watch this along w ALOT of other christmas movies & christmas themed shows I have every christmas season

    Merry christmas everyone

  • Lucailey the letter is signed "all of us" so Santa thinks everyone thinks the same.

  • Ah i'm so glad I found this!!! Grew up watching this ad had it on video and ever thought i would have found it again!! X the memories x

  • Thanks for posting your video.

  • his is a cute cartoon.

  • 17:02 LET THE WATERWORKS START!!!

  • "ONCE-UPON-A-TIME" When "This-Old-Man" Born 1932 / Was A-Little-Boy/

Now 2011 Spring "The-Digital-Era" This Cartoon: "At-The-Tip-Of-My Fingers"

    SaoPaulo-SP (Brazil) .

  • its the full one?<3

  • Thank you SOOOOO much for sharing this - my daughter had never seen it and now she's singing the songs right along with the characters....

  • since when santa smokes a pipe?

  • @FayDBayB always has

  • I was a kid when this came out look forward to it every year.I used to eagerly search the tv guide" the paper one if anybody remembers "to find out when all the Christmas specials would come on while my mom would bake Christmas cookies .Nowdays kids have everything on dvd or netflix that takes so much of the magic away. my kids are the same Its sad to realize how much all the technology has changed things ,sure I know we all like it but It takes away so much of the magic away

  • As I said before I do like this Christmas Special. However, it seems to give the message that Christmas won't come without Santa. Santa is not the true meaning of the holidays. I like the way they deal with in How The Grinch Stold Christmas where even though all the gifts and trimmings were gone Christmas Still came. I do however, like the message that we can fix our mistakes and we need to work to make things happen instead of waiting for a merical.

  • @Lucailey I so agree with you. Also God does not need any help from us to perform miracles. He All he asks from us is faith.

  • @Sassyladyme This is true but, I also think that God does expect us to try and fix our mistakes and to work for what we want. I don't think he expects us to sit around praying for a hand out when we can do work to get what e need. Im glad you agreed with me though Sassyladyme, I was worried I was going to get a lot of flack about my comment.

  • @Lucailey I agree, the song is about how God wants us to help make our own miracles by making the world better.

  • I do like this cartoon but, it annoys me that Santa would neglect everyone due to one Mouse's letter Santa would have to know that not everyone in the whole town felt like that mouse with the glasses!

  • LOVE IT ;-)

  • I don't know why it bugs me so, but this cartoon's logic has been irking me the lasts few years:

    1) Only the mice find out why Santa snubbed the town. However, none of the humans investigate this, and the Mouse Family doesn't tell the humans what they found out.

    2) The town shuns the Trundles just because the clock broke and they won't let Joshua fix it!?

    3) Santa gives gifts only to the Trundles, and flies away. I wonder how long it was before they were run out of town by an angry mob.

  • I grew up watching this toon at Christmas time..

    Thanks for posting!!!

  • Holy Cow!!! I completly forgot about this!!!

  • I listened to this record today..... :D

  • I came here for 2:15 - 2:30, but ended up watching the whole thing >__>

  • Is it December yet... ;__;

  • 6:30 I love this movie, but this whole "You SHOULD and NEED to have irrational convictions! Be irrational! 'Think' with your heart!" business is so religious in nature that it seems potentially harmful to the weak-minded, which children typically are. I wasn't affected, but my parents weren't lying to me about Santa or other mythology. I worry about kids whose parents DO lie to them, about how well they can tell real from pretend when they're older, like regarding astrology or homeopathy.

  • @TheLonelyImmortal A lot of people worry about telling their children that despite no evidence there is a Santa Claus. To believe in something that you cannot physically touch or see... it depends on how it is used. For example; Love cannot be seen or touched, yet we believe it in anyways because we feel it. We need to be able to believe in possibilities so that we, as individuals, can grow. Children are not weak-minded, but completely open and trusting towards ideas and concepts.

  • @newreflection Love is a real and demonstrable concept. You can't put it in a jar, but no one calls love a superstition, and it doesn't contradict science. Children can best be described as "very trusting", and that's basically why religion and other mythology like Santa exists. Santa Claus is NOT a possibility. You are not addressing my worry that kids heads are filled with unscientific claims about reality, which present a hindrance to them truly understanding it.

  • @TheLonelyImmortal Unrealistic claims such as "Santa Claus", inspire children. It makes their imagination goes into overdrive. They think more and come up with creative solutions and answers to their questions. Some of the greatest inventions were thought to be impossible. Yes, the concept of Santa is far-fetched, but the story makes children have hope and excitement. Doesn't the inspiration it gives to children outweigh the lack of whimsical stories in their lives?

  • @newreflection These "creative solutions"- will they involve magic? Because if magic inspired their imaginations to be "creative", then I imagine that these "solutions" will be based on the easy shortcuts of magic, and not on reality. Their "answers" would be equally fictional. When you say "Some of the greatest inventions were thought to be impossible", are you saying that anything is possible? The problem is simply that Santa fiction is a lie against children. Do you condone lying to children?

  • @TheLonelyImmortal, Flight for man was considered impossible, yet now we have planes that not only get us to places faster, but with wifi and an inflight movie. Believe it or not, but "Santa Claus" was a real person known as Saint Nicholas... so to tell them that Saint Nick never existed is a lie in itself. So no, I don't condone lying. I am simply saying that we should encourage their creative notions and if that means letting them watch cute cartoons, why not?

  • love it!:)

  • wow! I haven't seen this in ages...lol

  • cartoons é tudo

  • Cant' believe this was made in 1974! Animation is a medium that was always ahead of its time.
