Fabulous! I loved watching her performances. I also enjoyed seeing how proud her mom was. She's so cute with her emotions. Hehe. :-)

Melanie seems flawless to me, and I guess to see your child doing something so wonderful is bound to make you cry with joy. Wow.

On a side note, I noticed that she, her mom and grandmother all looked somewhat alike. Cool. My aunt, her daughter and our grandmother were like that. :D

@LoveDanceRide Well Thanks for the Reply. One of the best ways to prepare is to eat right and exercise. If u wanna impress the judges you have to out shine Everybody in your group. Make eye contact with ALL the judges and eat a Good Breakfast, cause u will be waitin Hours..lol As far as me making it I only made it to the 2nd round. So season 10 here I come!!! :)

I absolutely love Melanie Moore. And i loved this dance. The only thing that irked me was her arms in the tilt. It would have been fabulous if her arms were in line with her leg but other than that shes phenomenal.

@DragonLcver I learned much later that during the year before this audition, she was assistant to Travis' best friend/roommate/business partner, Nick, who also won seas.1. That gives a whole new view of how she "happened" to get Travis in wk 1, with the 1st "Emmy-worthy" choreo. There's no "where did she come from?".They knew EXACTLY who she & Ryan (as Mia's assistant) were.There are vids of her dancing with Alex Wong, helping Mandy Moore demonstrate.Wonder who else knew her before?

@DragonLcver @LouBdy They used to inform the audience when there was a connection to judges/choreographers.They warned Lauren G. ON AIR that she would get no favoritism, being Tyce's asst., so the audience knew.Same with Debbie Allen, who removed herself from the judging panel because of Will. That was back when the show had a little bit of integrity. Now, it's mostly a circle of "friends" of Travis/Mia, etc.There are good dancers out there who don't even bother w/auditions bc of it

This was her best work of the season, great choreo by her two teachers.However, I felt she did not live up to the excessive praise given to her all season, almost zero criticisms. Of course, since she was teaching assistant the year before to Nick Lazarini (winner of Sea.1 & Travis' best friend), it was natural for her to be Travis' favorite. He's always had trouble being impartial, even before he was a judge.Those connections should be made clear to the voting public, in my opinion, to be fair

@00KenT7 It wouldn't matter if she was Nigel's daughter, and we all knew it. She is still the best the show has ever seen and was absolutely flawless evertime out. I think she is one person form this show that will eventually become a mainstream dancer.

@Idolheaded What do you mean "mainstream" dancer? Lots of sytycd alums have gone on to successful careers. And Danny was already in the corps of ABT before he even auditioned. He's now a principal dancer in the Norwegian Nat'l Ballet. Mel is Nick's friend so she'll always have work. Travis really favors his small circle of friends for jobs (Jaimie G., Teddy F., Taja R., Robert R., Chantel A., Allison H. & so on). It pays to stay on Travis' good side, since he's Nigel's pride & joy.

@Idolheaded @Idolheaded Best ever? Not imo. Dancers as good or better (more versatile): Kathryn M.., Kayla R., Allison H., Alex Wong, Danny T., Jakob K., Ellenore S. Even Miranda was as technically proficient as Mel & better at hiphop, but they got rid of the competition for Melanie pretty quick. Melanie's advantage over all those people? A unique look, a face that looks like it came from a Renaissance painting. A beautiful face will take you far, even in the dance world.

@Idolheaded @sternim77 Cont'd. The dramatic drop in viewership over the last 3 seasons show how people have lost interest in this show. I once had a circle of friends who were devoted to it, but dropped out, mainly because of the judges. They felt they were becoming more manipulative with each season.This one was the worst, with judges retaining final say until almost the very end, plus overpraising. All that said, Melanie is a good dancer with a good work ethic.She'll be fine.

@sternim77 What about Pasha? He just came in 2nd in Britain's version of DWTS, he was in Burn the Floor & is always working somewhere. I'd say Chelsie, Lacey, Dmitry, Anya, along with those you mention, have gotten a career boost from being on the show. Martha & Ben were in Wade's Las Vegas show. Sandra, Neil, Courtney are always working. At the very least, they are known to some choreographers who now know what they are capable of. It helps a dancer get noticed at auditions.
