I regret getting this game , It's like a board game and not at aaaaall by any means realistic ,

The good thing about that , I got the pirated version freeee , but I wasted time downloading it .

can some one help me out man? I've started around 15 games alraedy and can never win! I did get a large army and get to revolt once but at that time the kings army outnumbered me 7:1 so i got destroyed. Then i started another one, trying to get rebel sentiment at last min to keep kings army small but i can never get to 50%! How to get to 50% rebel sentiment fast goddammit

This is the toughest game I have ever played and I have YET to win a single game on the easiest difficulty without using the word builder cheat!!!!!!

But it is a great game nonetheless!

@19792403 You need Dom Pedro in your congress, and then at least 1/2 of the troops the mother country is going to send at you ready to strike near your settlements (preferably dragoons), and attack the royal forces as soon as they land, since they're relatively weaker on the defense. There's a point at which mother country stops adding new troops to REF, just keep building yours and you're good.

ark, i did a scenario on huge western hemisphere on the eaisest difficulty and won independence, but it was tough and i only had some 20 soldiers with 5 canons left at the end of battle out of more than 100 soldies...... then on the Explorer difficulty it got too hard with indians attacking me xD

i havnt played civ4 colonization. but i got skills for winning. just fortitfy your troops in the city. and build walls. they wont be able to destroy your defense.

@lifes40123 That's the worst thing to do in colonization especially with coastal cities because the king's troop have huge bonuses against city....

its a stragedy game. its not like empire total war where u always go to war. u have to build cities and buildings to make your empire rich. then u build armies u conquer world. i recemend u to buy civilization 3 first since its better

Yeah, civ rev is basically civ for dummies. It's impossible to lose that game unless you're a tard. Deity on civ rev is comparable to warlord on civ 4.

I saw a vid of some dude playing that game and he played it on settler and they were using archers in the 1950 while he had tanks...freaking stupid. It is almost impossible for me to win a battle. The only reason for that is cuz I have it stuck on a mode where it takes 20 guys to take a town.

Not always. Given his location that he has colonized, he is fairly close to Europe, allowing decent trade at the start, but ultimately damaging your ability to defend yourselves against the navy getting there. (You're only really meant to get a few ships to defend your larger colonies from bombardment and to tie up the enemy fleet while your veteran units assualt the invaders)

I always use world builder in a pickle lol. Once for a laugh I got Ghandi, started a nw game in the ancient times, then gave him like 15 ICBMS, a massive arsenal of tanks, modern armour, machine guns etc. then totally pwned the other civ's =]

Btw, build your main colony on a mountain for +25% def (others inland) + don't irrigate the plots or cut the trees. Make sure you have the mil. founding fathers with free upgrades for your soldiers. Start making guns asap and steal colonists away from the other europeans (they're always easy to beat). Let the king make his visit. 100% win on hardest lol

No real battles you can only have soldiers which are quite weak, and cannons. If i were to recommend a game like this it would be civ4 beyond the sword.

For all those thinking this is a Civ4 expansion you are wrong. This is a stand alone game set on the Civ4 engine. Just like Bethesda are doing with Fallout 3, it's the Oblivion engine.

LtnSarge is right I have been dreaming of this game for may years... This is a very unique style of game play and you will understand if you get a chance to play it. They combine so many aspects of discovery, war, trade economics, city management, population training, etc. in a way that is truly enjoyable. Not to mention it actually forces you to think unlike many games I have played.

Nobody could have complained if they would have released Beyond the Sword as Civ V. Warlords was a bit of a rip-off but Beyond the Sword was the best expansion pack ever. And I really don't want any 3D Rome RTS stuff in my TBS Civ thank you very much.

Anyway, this Colony thing apparently has nothing much to do with Civ IV so I guess we'll have to wait just a little bit longer for V.
