  • Thank you for the video ! I just go one today and can't wet to try it... The front site look great for my farsighted eyes . This is my first real "pistol" Alain

  • @Isaure143 Good for you! I had to adjust the rear sight (lowered it quite a bit) but it's very accurate, and I think you'll enjoy the low recoil.

  • i really like my sr9c, just tried shooting at 50yrds quick shooting and did okay even though i was super tired and back killing me. it has a super soft recoil.

  • nice video I went got mine today my local shop had both stainless and black.I got the all black one just like the look better.

  • i used to have an sr9c but i traded it and now i regret it. its an awesome pistol. it shot great and i never had a malfunction. i think what you were referring to about the longer magazine is the extended grip sleeve that gives it a full size grip.

  • Picked one up today, first handgun ive owned. Looks great but it definitely needs to be broken in. Magazines are stiff as hell like you said. Cant wait to take it to the range.

  • I enjoyed the video. I own an sr9c and agree with the all around performnance of the gun. Espceically for the price. I've put about 500 to 600 through it and not one problem. What holster do you use or recommend to include mag holder?

  • @SitraLLC I don't use a mag holster, but for IWB I use Kholster. Great value compared to Crossbreed or Comptac.

  • @SitraLLC ; I use a Fobus HK-2 and it fits perfectly.

  • Really liked the video, and totally get the stiffness on the gun when it's new.

I've had mine for a year now, and yes, that slide lock does get way easier over time. I'm an older lady, so the hands aren't quite as strong as they used to be. I also use an uplula, as I cannot load without it....

Anyway, been a shooter most of my life, but this was my first handgun, and my first 'on my own' buy, and I couldn't be happier with my choice.

  • i just picked one up and i have always been a compact 1911 guy. just like steel i guess. however best compact gun i have ever owned. thanks for the vid. you should make a detail strip vid as it took me 30 mins to tare down the striker system. not like a 1911 at all. i think that would be helpful. not a field strip but full. i may post one now that ive figuared it out. anyway thanks

  • Great Gun ..... coming from a Glock guy

  • Thanks for doing the review. I don't think I've ever bothered to read so many comments in my life! lol Most were pretty good and constructive, but man did the non-breastfed whinny little babies come out on this one! lol My son is wanting to get his own first gun, and I haven't bought a new gun since the 90s! I was never really in love with my Glock I've had all these years, I think it's mainly that awkward grip angle. I want a replacement, and I think this may just be the gun for both of us!

  • The thing I don't like about the SR9 is the little pin you have to remove to take the slide off. My concern is will it become loose fitting over time, possibly falling out and resulting in the slide flying off when you fire the pistol, possibly hitting you in the face.

  • @hunkylynch 18 months and 700 plus rounds, no signs of wear. No warping or anything like that. Many designs use a removable pin system for takedown. 1911's, HK's, Ruger P series, and more. All of those have a reputation for reliability. Just food for thought.

  • I absolutely agree. The gun is way too stiff when its new. The slide catch is super tough to close at first. But after a handful of sessions at the range it became exponentionally easier:) i really dig the red piece that pops up when its chambered a round. I dont care if its screaming unprofessional, all i love to think is that its better to play it safe. I think the field strip on this firearm is very easy, which i love by the way. And the sturdy click of the safety is reassuring:)

  • I couldn't tell,do you like the weapon? LOL You sold me ,I went to Cabela's this evening and got it on sale for $399 . Merry Christmas to me!

  • I just bought the Ruger SR9C today, I absolutely love it

  • I just paid $400 for mine. New. The G26 was $80 more.

  • Picked up one today with the stainless slide. The black slides were out of stock. The price on both were $389. I can't wait to shoot it. This is my first compact 9mm pistol. I was looking at a Springfield EMP but this is a lot less expensive. I may buy the black slide SR9C in 2012. This pistol is a tremendous value.

  • I used to own a Glock 26 until I met someone at the range that let me fire his SR9c. I went right from the range to the gun shop and made a trade.

The grip feels like it was custom made for me, and the trigger is amazing - so light and crisp. For me this translates into me being a better shot with the SR9c than I ever was with my 26.

  • @sharkinfested I have a Gen 4 G23, and the mid size in combination with the new smaller grip fits me great. But like you, I didn't like the baby glocks, that hump at the bottom of the grip just pokes out too far to have a comfortable grip. SR9c has a really great grip.

  • Why the Ruger SR9 sucks:

    It's a Ruger.

It's has a manual safety that is was too small to work reliably 100% of the time, there for it's a liability.

It's loaded chamber indicator is absolutely stupid. Why not just copy glock or S&W?

  • @theblackkknight1 Ruger has been around for a long time with a pretty good record for quality, so I'm not sure what you base that on. The manual safety works just fine, it's easy to grip and is very positive. The loaded chamber indicator is the most visible and tactile in the industry, and does not inhibit function in any way. The chamber indicator on M&P's are not tactile (fail in low light) and Glocks barely stick out. I see I'm not the only one you think is "retarded" (recent activity)

  • @martinitime1975

Ruger revolvers are great stuff, but Bill Ruger pandering to gun grabbers in unforgivable.

I had a "chance" to run a SR9c on a couple IDPA stages, and I have big, but not huge hands. The safety was able to be taken off, but switched back on never happened. The owner had even bigger hands and confessed to never using it. The M&Ps have the option of a safety and it works for everyone.

Can you take it off on the SR's?

  • @theblackkknight1 You might be able to have a gun smith do it, but I don't know if it voids the warranty.

  • And how many 4 to 1 loads are you doing in the dark?

  • @theblackkknight1 i have had no problems with the gun after 1700+ rounds, the safety is pretty tight so i can't imagine accidentally switching it on. and the indicator? lol, why would that even be a problem? it doesn't even get in the way. when i have a new shooter that im at the range with, it becomes very helpful to know if a round is loaded. hmmm, can't see why you can have the Ruger brand, they make reliable firearms. if you said you hated taurus, i would of understand.

  • @blaziankhmer So your admitting the safety is pointless? Thanks. The indicator is a fail because most companies only have one because some states mandate it. So instead of going with the top of chamber peep hole, Ruger put this gaudy, stupid looking tab that screams unprofessional. Why just have a coocoo bird pop out the top and tell you your gun is loaded? Press checks fix this non existent problem. The IDPA world shoot didnt see one SR anything.

  • Nice review man just got mine a few days ago used for about $400 it was practically brand new who ever had it must of sighted it in because I couldn't miss!

  • Do you mind if I ask you how much is the price difference from the two tone color compared to the black one.

  • @mario3804 From what I've seen, the price on the black slide is about 30$ more. But if you're going to carry concealed, I think its the way to go. The finish on the two tone is very reflective.

  • I have an SR9C and while it was stiff and had some jamming issues at first, it is now broken in and shoots amazing. Great gun.

  • Im really liking this gun, great review

  • Great review! Very simple yet informative keep it up

  • I liked your review buddy. I bought the sr9c two tone last week for ccw and i absolutely love it. Took it to the range and put about 250 rounds through it and i gotta say it shoots marvelously. Super accurate with very little recoil and no jams. I love this pistol.

  • hmmm kind if like Glock and XDm had a baby....

  • Maybe. I did dry fire one of the XD sub compacts and that was the smoothest trigger ever. This Ruger beats Glock (in my humble opinion) on everything but takedown. And magazine prices. The trigger is smoother, the sights are adjustable. it's dead accurate, lower price point, etc. But I like Glock too, I'm breaking in a new Kholster for my Gen 4 G23 as I type this. LOVE that gun.

  • @Paragon9000 I'm thinking of doing a video like that, with more macro shots too. Keep an eye out

  • Just a note... I have noticed that is is really hard to find videos that show clearly how the compact guns fit in the hand. I know hand size vary, but it's still nice to see how small the gun is and how it fits in the hand.

Another note, it would be cool to see the review with the 2 types of mags.

Other then that I love your style of gun review.

  • The awesome trigger and ambi safety sold me on it. Oh yeah also the ambi mag release and the lifetime warranty and the 10/17 round mags and the affordability and the adjustable sight but mostly the awesome trigger.

  • Just bought mine, can't wait to get some shootin time in.

  • @shankdrummer06 I think you'll enjoy it. Just be prepared for a longer than normal break in. Not to make reliable, but to loosen the slide spring and mags up.

  • @martinitime1975 Thanks, great review even though you said it was a quick one. I loaded up the mags and I'm gonna keep them loaded to get those springs worn in. I plan on puttin a nice amount through it soon.

  • Awesome gun for carry. It does shoot smooth as butter. But, with my hands, impossible to rack, and even difficult racking off the slide stop. But I love shooting this gun. Not as good as my Sig p 226 elite stainless--but nothing is. Slide spring has softened up a bit, but man it is the hardest and stiffest I know of in a 9 millimeter.

  • @avarmadillo That ain't no lie, that slide is hard to rack.

  • @martinitime1975 No kidding. They should put on the gun case, "Arnold Schwartzenegger not included." The rack is the only real problem with the gun. But once you get the round in the chamber it shoots great.

  • I have a SR9C and also own a Glock 27. The SR9C has taken its place as my everyday carry. It shoots better FOR ME. Out of the box, it was just dead on out to 10 yards before drifting just a smidge. Like you, the rounds started going left a tad, but nothing major at all. The guys next to me had XD's, and commented on the groupings of the SR9C. Awesome gun, trigger feels better than my G27.

  • "It's like drawing Excalibur from the stone."

Your analogy for the grip made me laugh. :)) Great review and enthusiasm! Keep it up!

  • It is an awesome gun! I have the 2 tone and the trigger is my favorite part. Its so smooth and predictable. I had one issue with feeding hollowpoints but after looking at the casing it appeared to be defective so not the guns fault. I also own a glock 27 and though the glock is my carry weapon the SR9c is def my favorite of the 2. And I also drive a bmw with no cup holders lol.

  • Just bought one 3 days ago.... love it very accurate and comfortable. Ran 100+ through it. Still not totally broken in and still tight but love it.

    -tim

  • @panicattack Glad you like it. I unloaded my good ammo so I could practice at the range today, and the magazines are still hella stiff!

  • Strongly considering getting one

  • 2010 HANDGUN OF THE YEAR. This should say something about this gun...

  • Hi, are u a cop or why do u carry a gun??!

  • @andi030 No I'm not a cop, and I answered your question on your other comment (Glock 23 gen4 and Ruger SR9c quick comparison)

  • @andi030 some people just like to carry a gun to feel safe, if you ask me i would say that you dont need to, but its always better to be safe than sorry plus in a lot of states it is legal with a permit. so yeah...

  • i agree the xd is weird as hell.

  • Just bought one, can't wait to take it to the ranch. Ty 4 da review!

  • Just bought one, can't wait to take it to the range. ty 4 da review!

  • I have the millennium pro .45 and the Ruger sr9c. I enjoy shooting the Ruger much more. My Taurus is way too finicky with what ammo I shoot through it (it only likes PMC and select Winchester rounds) but my Ruger fires like a dream every time. And you're right about the accuracy; I had a 2 foot target set out at 100 yds just for shits and gigs and was actually able to hit it about 20-25% of the time. Not a snowball's chance in hell that would happen with my Taurus.

  • @JadedRockStar84 Also, I have put roughly 600 rounds through the SR9C without a single misfire/issue.

  • What the hell is that jingling?? Tell those Salvation Army bums to take their fake Santa elsewhere!

  • @gaozhi2007 I think you're referring to my dogs. I put luggage tag sized name tags on their collars.

  • @martinitime1975 lol, i figured as much. But I have to warn you, they wouldn't make good stealth attack dogs. My venomous flying squirrels would hear them coming from a mile away.

  • @gaozhi2007 I know you're not disrespecting the army I got people in there back off

  • Love my sr9c, only thing is having trouble with reloads. Came across case head separation twice within 20 rounds. Haven't figured if its the ammo or just if gun can't handle reloads.

  • is anyone having trouble with the camlock pins falling out of the frame as the gun is being shot

  • @thefamcnaj I've put over 500 rounds through mine and noticed some slight movement with one of the frame pins, the one right behind the accessory rail in the front. But I tapped it in with a punch, no big deal. But I'll be keeping an eye on it.

  • @thefamcnaj I hear that alot on the forums but they think if you had ever taken out the pin before you most likely put it in backwards or switched the two pins

  • Ive been watching reviews for the SR9c and the S&W sigma series. I can find both for around 300$ new. I was wondering if anyone has had any problems with this gun. I am researching to help my dad pick out a Concealed carry gun, I personally own a XDm 9 3.8 compact to fill this role however my father isnt looking to spend the same amount which is a fair assessment . So anybody who knows of any quirks or things that didnt make them super thrilled about the gun would be nice to know. Thanks

  • just bought on and this was helpfull ..... thanks

  • @MrSeankim5 I think you will enjoy it. Post your thoughts after you take it to the range.

  • I've had mine since Aug of 2010. First clip I shot had my one and only hiccup (so far...knock on wood) on the third round. Out of the box it shot to the left a little and had to drift the rear sight (I'm one that has to finger F everything till I like it.) Tear down is easier than a Glock (I think) and a Glock is pretty easy to tear down. To me I think the ergonomics of the Ruger feels a little better. The one thing I don't like about it. You can't use the slide lock as a slide release if you g

  • @AddictToDP

It is called a "magazine," not a clip. Clips are what you put into an M1 garand.

  • @MrRedGixxer600

Damn it...you weren't suppose to catch that. I can't believe I still do that now and then. But hey, at least I've never called a clip a mag. :)

  • I assumed that right out of the box it would fire flawlessly. It seems like no one else has to take the firing assembly completely apart before it can be shot. I will give Ruger one chance to get it right. If it isn't correctly repaired, I'll sell it and get the xdm 9mm compact. Thanks for the reply back HitOrMissEtc.

  • Has anyone with the SR9C had any light strikes with this gun.

  • @marvinlowman Yes, just got mine back from Ruger Repair today for light strikes and failure to battery. Make sure you take the striker assembly out and clean it up really well. Ruger fills that area with grease and it seems to gum it up really bad in there. Tons of people complain about it. Mine had tons of crap in there, but also my slide had issues so they replaced it and the striker.

  • Hey brother, great video! Just picked my Ruger SR9c over the weekend. Felt a little disloyal, as I've always been a Sig Sauer guy (I love my p229), but I digress. I plan on taking it to the range for it's first shoot in a couple of days. Even though I haven't fired a shot yet, I'm EXTREMELY impressed with the cost vs. raw quality of the gun!!!

  • @screamingeagle70 I think you'll be pleasantly surprised. Don't feel bad, Sig's quality control and customer service have taken a real nose dive, if you believe some of the reports on Youtube.

  • Sorry, but Imports are imports, new or used. You are creating a market for used so people will by new. With me so far? Watch your video again. I was interested in the gun and you brought up imports. With me so far? And if you were in Germany or Japan, you couldn't own a gun. With me so far? And anyone that thinks a Benz is good looking; well, not much I can help you with there. Bad taste is bad taste. Oh, and today YOU are $2,200 in debt to China and other countries. With me so far?

  • @gsolo328 Take your Ron Paul horseshit somewhere else and stop spamming my GUN videos with your anti-foreign products hatred. If US products were so great people would buy them. I buy foreign cars (some of which are made in the US, like Honda, KIA, Toyota, etc.) because I trust them, and the US makers have given me plenty of reasons not to trust them. We're in debt to China because UNIONS make labor here so expensive. This is your last warning: any further comments will be flagged as SPAM

  • @martinitime1975 Couldnt have said it better...Union cost have single handily brought the nation down to its knee's on labor. Its a shame we cant build some things here because it just cost to much for the union labor cost.

  • @martinitime1975 What does Ron Paul have to do with any of that? :o

  • @TheSentinelGuardian Oh, I think I was going after his isolationist policies but it was a stretch :)

  • @martinitime1975 Ah, that's a common misconception. People mistakenly label him an "isolationist" because he's not into bullshit false flag wars and such. But as for "Isolationism", he's just the opposite, he's the most pro-free trade guy there is, and as pro-gun as you can possibly get.

  • @TheSentinelGuardian I respectfully disagree. Rep. Paul's foreign policy ideas are what keep me from voting for him. He discounts the threats from Iran and other middle east countries. There is no war that Paul would support, and that is dangerous. According to former aide Eric Dondero, Paul thought that saving the Jews during WW2 was none of our business. Ron Paul should be secretary of the treasury, not POTUS.

  • @martinitime1975 A couple of things to consider. First, he wouldn't get us involved in any false flag wars, costing billions of dollars, thousands of American lives, and hundreds of thousands of other's lives in bullshit wars like Iraq. My friends that made it back from duty over there totally agree that it was bullshit and regret the whole fiasco. And look at it now, quickly sliding into civil war just days after our troops leave, and Iran gaining a stronger foothold than ever.

  • @TheSentinelGuardian You can use the "wrong war wrong time" argument with Iraq because it's probably valid in that case. However, it's a moot point, because Ron Paul would not go to war no matter what the cause. He's quick to appease the idiots that can't get a long with others (i.e. Middle East muslims), blames America first, and I have heard him in his own voice say that mall security guards are doing a better job than our boys overseas. I just can't support that.

  • @martinitime1975 i agree with you i know im kinda young compared to most people but a wise man once told me there is a time for talk and a time for fighting....and the time for talking has long been over

  • @gsolo328 Get rid of the way outdated Unions that we just dont need or can afford to have anymore and the nation might be able to compete with the rest of the world in industial products made. With me so far?.But the Lazy..Over paid..work if I feel like it and if I dont theres nothing you can do about it because I'm Union wokers attitude needs to GO!! With me so far?People want quality made products. The companies want to make a profit..With me so far gsolo??But in this nation of unions. No chance

  • @panaclean775 Bingo--right on target. In business middle-men add cost without adding value to products. 90 years ago the unions brought some good things-(things that were coming anyway). But very bad things came too and eventually destroyed the few good. Now both worker and consumer are ripped off by parasitic labor leaders. Original resistance to unions was based on communist fears. A look at big unions today, with their tentacles spread internationally, shows those fears to be well justified.

  • You own 2 imported cars and you can't pay cash for an inexpensive gun? Hmmm maybe if you didn't send your cash over to China your neighbor could have enough money to help support whatever you do. Or maybe we should send your job overseas as well. Be American and support your city and family, not China or Japan. Look at how far in debt "we" (including you) are into China. No, I'm not in the car business, I'm in the taking care of your own country before China business.

  • @gsolo328 I bought two GERMAN cars USED from an AMERICAN dealership. With me so far? Why are you coming on to a gun review video to spout your so called buy American agenda? If GM, Chrysler, and (to a lesser extent) Ford didn't make cars that were complete pieces of ugly SHIT, then maybe I wouldn't have to buy foreign. But screw me, I like cars that don't fall apart in 6 months. Or ones that are made by union thugs.

  • @gsolo328 Your annoying

  • Great video, very accurate. I purchased the SR9c stainless. I knew I would like it as a CCW but I am SO surprised with how happy I am with it at the range. Very impressed with the accuracy for a Compact model. Again great review. I'm not a Glock guy but my next purchase will ABSOLUTELY be the Glock 17, one of the later generations. Anyone got one for sale???

  • My xd45 is like the Cadillac of duty pistols but this 9c is a perfect fit for my wife and i am a little more accurate with her at a distance (after a minor adjustment to the windage). Great video man!!

  • all the guns you compared it took , I was looking at the m&pc glock 26 and XD sub compact and dude your so right It feels incredible , and I love the trigger its not your average Double action trigger pull has such a clean break . Good Review

  • @coreysm1th Thanks for watching. I love the trigger, although based solely on dry firing, I thought the XD trigger was the smoothest.

  • A great gun. Good ergonomics, terrific accuracy, better than average felt recoil, nicely made. Paid $450 in Michigan at gun shop/range.

  • I just bought the SR9c, stainless slide, though. Haven't fired a round yet. Paid more up here in Maine ($485). Love the feel of the gun. Take down went easily once I got used to the spring tension. Agreed - it's really stiff, but that's no prob. I'll be taking the NRA pistol course next month for CCW. I'm really looking forward to breaking this baby in. Thanks for the review - very informative, great job!

  • @robthomas232 Thanks for watching! Like I said, it will loosen up quite a bit after 100-200 rounds.

  • Great review!

  • I had a chance to grip one today at a local gun shop. I thought it felt great as well. I am seriously considering buying one . I thought your review was good too. Keep up the good work.

  • Great review! thanks. I own several Glocks but this SR9C is my next purchase. They really did hit a home run with this one and I've heard the experts say the trigger is awesome....My wife wants one too...

  • Haha wildernesskid, if you didn't like the review you could have just moved on and not said anything. Instead you wrote a wordy comment on how you didn't like it. What? Did you think he was going to re-edit his video just for you?

  • very very peased with my sr9c

  • can i shoot +p ammo through this bad boy safely?

  • @sshukri0 Check the online manual from Ruger, I don't want to lead you astray on that one.

  • Thanks I thought the video was very informative and I have made my mind on the 9c because of how it feels.I had to go to a full size glock to get the feel of control. I need something I can conceal so I'm buying a Ruger sr9c. Thanks for the vid

  • Just ran 100 rds 115gr through my SR9c and love it!! I had originally planned to get the regular SR9, but they only had the display, and he brought out the SR9c and I fell in love with it at first sight. Light trigger weight hence the need for the additional safety. Easy to shoot, I'm sure i'll get years of fun shooting out of this Great American made Gun. The two things that most reviewers don't think to mention is the lighter trigger pull, and also the double spring for improved recoil.

  • I just bought one last week mainly for my girlfriend in mind but I like it a lot too. I had the same issue with the slide stiffness but after shooting 40 rnds through it so far its loosened up quite a bit. This is my first 9mm. It seems to be very accurate and reliable for a good price. I'm not a gun expert by any means, so I'm not knocking any other gun company. This was just in my price range. So far I like it, hopefully it will be a good gun and I won't have any bad experiences with it.

  • Comment removed

  • eh it looks like you got a lot of douchebags watching this video, or at least commenting on it. wtf. I thought you did a good review in a addition to others I've watched. Basically from all the reviews, this ruger sounds like an excellent gun, i've definitely made my decision over a glock, high point being the price and quality along with it.

  • @xerofreak Thanks for the encouragement, and you can't go wrong with this gun. If you can find a range that rents guns, you could always test a few just to make sure.

  • wow this review did not help me at all i was bored within the first minute of it and could tell you would leave a lot of points out you, need to not repeat yourself also id love proof that you actually shot the gun not a target you dont have to go to a range to shoot you know

  • @wildernesskid40k Man, you're so transparent. So I go to your page and what do I find? A shrine to Duracoat Dick. I can see your recent activity consists of nothing but trolling people who disagree with Nutter, and a suck up comment on his SR9 video. I'm sorry that I don't own private farm land and my local gun ranges don't allow filming. But let me guess, I'm just jealous. Get a new line, loser.

  • @wildernesskid40k So, in honor of your hero, I'm going to treat you as he would. So you're blocked now.

You could return the favor, but then I just wouldn't get to comment on videos you don't even have. FAIL

  • i hate when "gun reviewers" don't even shoot the motherfucker

  • @TheNeanderthaller Most ranges in my area do not allow video taping. When I find one that does, I'll post video. But I don't think you'd care anyway

  • its not a ruger sr9 its a COOPER SR9c

  • @TheNeanderthaller What the hell are you smoking?

  • Do you or anybody else reading this comment know if you can shoot lead bullets through the stock barrel of this gun? I was watching a video from Hickok45 and he was explaining how your able to shoot lead bullets through the stock barrel of the Springfield XD Sub compact, but not the Glock 26. I was wondering because the gun from this video and the guns previously mentioned are the ones I'm trying to decide between.

  • Comment removed

  • @ThePatriot0991 That's something I would want Ruger to confirm, but I do know it has standard rifling, unlike the hexagonal rifling in the Glock (which is why lead reloads are a no no in the stock Glock barrels). Give Ruger a call, I'm sure they would confirm yes or no

  • @martinitime1975 ok thanks, great review by the way.

  • i got mine and i love it!! it's a great gun

  • Do you really need to smack your lips and swallow after every sentence?

  • @play3393 Maybe I had dry mouth that day. Thanks for the sensitivity.

  • @play3393 Man, I'm still laughing at this comment... He said Thanks for the sensitivity... Just Hilarious. In his defense though, I usually notice things like that and it really didn't get me like it did you... Still funny though.

  • Nice desk top review, seems straightforward and fair. I have both the full size and the compact and love them both, maybe the 9c a little more... the mag release of both guns very light and smooth, as are the triggers of both. Easy fix to smith the slide lock to a slide release. These little guys are taking off, each iteration getting better and better. I would like to shoot the 40 to see if the improvements continue.

  • Nice shooting. I own the full size SR9 and love it. I've put over 1200 rounds through mine including Winchester white box, Blazer, Remington soft point, Winchester 147 gr hp, Speer 124 gr fmj, Fiocchi 124 gr fmj, even Bear Russian 9mm, and that horrible Independence cheapo 9mm. No failures, not one. The gun's super reliable. In all fairness I shot a friend's tricked out Colt Series 80 better, but it's easily twice as expensive. Love the gun. It's smooth and feels natural to point and sho

  • For CCW, is the manual safety really that big of a deal?

  • @SunSunSuperFun I don't think so, it's just a matter of training

  • what kind of amo do u use i shot 80 rouds of winchester and 1 failure to fire thairs a vid on youtube some guy had the same problem with winchester he switched brands i cant remember what brand it was.

  • @edgarjesusrodriguez Winchester white box is iffy, so I use the cheap Federal ammo at Wal-mart. So far so good

  • @martinitime1975 Yeah i would have to agree with the statement about the whinchester white box.. but the ammo i buy from walmart seems to be VERY VERY dirty loads. i can shoot one full clip of the federal or the blazer and my glock looks like i have been shoting all day. i have found that the Academy brand ammo is cheaper and is a lot cleaner. i know some people will not care about this. i clean my pistol after fireing but in the case i forget i don't want to risk a misfire due to dirty rounds,

  • i bought this gun and i dont like it the magazine is hard to load and u need to use the speed loader and the speed loader suks its to short i have to use the one that i have from my glock 27

  • @edgarjesusrodriguez They are stiff out of the box, but they loosen up considerably after sitting full for a couple of weeks. It's a pretty standard break in technique for magazines of all brands

  • this is gonna be my next purchase for sure. u can get them online now for around $380! how has it been workin out for you?

  • @armed2theteethH420 Tremendously. Every time I take it to the range it's accurate and easy to shoot. I love it as much as any human can love something without boobs.

  • @martinitime1975 BAHA well i guess that sums it up. thanks man!

  • @armed2theteethH420 Dude where did you find it for $380. Even I am in the market for a SR9C.

  • I have the full size Ruger SR9 in stainless steel finish. The serrations on the slide are really sharp. Are the Nitrodox Pro Black slide serrations on the slide sharp as well?

  • @TheAnitat Like a cheese grater! I don't know if they're worse, or if the fact that the spring is stiffer make them feel that way. It's about the same, which means they're sharp!

  • nice review, i have the full size sr9,and love it.i would like to get the compact to carry.my problem is i love to shoot so much, the price 0f 9 m.m. ammo is a killer.so, i end up shooting my ruger 22/45.it is also a fine weapon.i love ruger's over built made in america, and a very feature packed , high value line of products

  • I did end up buying this gun and have put 237 flawless rounds through it so far. I was shooting low at first but have adjusted the sites and it's much better for me now. I really like the gun and it will be my CC if and when I go that route. I'm left handed so it seems to be lefty friendly. Thanks for the review, it was helpful in my decision to purchase the gun.

  • I think a field strip would be in order.

  • nevermind...i was too lazy to see it was right beside this vid hahaha

  • Its funny cause I've been really considering this as a CCW and I didn't even realize you had a review video on it. I'm pretty sure this is what I'm getting. You don't have a vid showing a conceal holster for it do ya?

  • I just purchased a Glock .40 for my father and had to shoot is to see what the hype was all about, and I must say, the SR9c keeps me coming back! Glock, Springfield XD, etc. are all GREAT guns, but the Ruger is just as good in all areas of comparison and really holds its own against the XD / Glock. All you DIe Hards out there should give this a try, this gun is addicting to shoot. I bought this pistol not knowing anything about it, and I have no regrets at all. *Can't wait for the SR45*

  • Good video. I fondled one of these in my LGS and it was really nice, but my Kel Tec got jealous and made me put it back.

  • Great vid. I love Ruger as a company and I love everything about the SR9's design. except for that frickin' manual safety. I just cannot fathom the purpose for that thing and frankly I'm concerned it might get me killed if I should ever actually need to use the gun defensively. Frustrating, because if Ruger offered a version without the safety I'd be all over it - especially now that they've come out with a full-size .40, which suggests that the SR40C will not be far behind.

  • Glock guy here but I really want to give this gun a try, thanks.

  • Hey Martini; I also have the SR9C black and absolutely love shooting it. The trigger is remarkable, smooth with a quick let off and no overtravel at all. I find it more accurate than my SR9 full size. Ruger has taken a lot of lumps since the SR9 was introduced and I feel unfairly so. Both my SR9's and my 9C have seen thousands of rounds with ZERO issues. I carry the SR9C and trust it completely. Now I have to get the SR40... Thanks for a nice review... Michael

  • I just bought one of these yesterday black on black like in the video. I am about to hit the range to test it out.

  • Great review. I've been thinking about getting this as my next weapon for a few weeks now.

  • would you consider this an easily concealable pistol for smaller frame guys? just wondering this is defiantly in the top running for my concealed carry purchase.

  • @JList08 Smaller guys should have an easier time. They don't have the curves and love handles that we "full figured" guys have. Check out my review of the Kholster holster to get some ideas, I go about 245 pounds.

  • @martinitime1975 lol I love it, full figure guys, never heard it put that way. lol

QUESTION: hows the durability issue, I know glock has the "coating" to its frame and also how easy is it to get parts, glock seems easy, Thanks!

  • @Gordondon The coating, if you believe both companies, is 4 HRC's higher than Glock. Also, I haven't looked for any replacement parts, but in all honesty you don't need to replace parts. Ruger got it right the first time. OH SNAP! That's right Glock addicts. Every Glock snob out there has an aftermarket mag release, slide stop, and take down lever. The mag release and slide stops on the SR9's are great out of the box.

  • Ruger autos are trash dont kid yourself..... Glock period.

  • @1911competitor Right. All the people out there who successfully defended themselves with something other than a Glock were just lucky I guess. The US military chose Beretta over Sig Sauer, Glock didn't even make the final cut. Both of my SR9's are top notch, not a single problem. And I don't hear anyone else complaining of catastrophic failures. humans4targets2, jimbofox, hickock45 and countless others praise it. Your Glock myopia is unwelcome in this adult discussion.

  • @martinitime1975 fuckn tell him. i walk into a gun store and they dont have a sr-9, they say just buy a glock. umm did i fuckn say iwanted a glock? NO!! my money i choose what i want. one guy goes on about the recal the sr9 had and i told him hes being an idiot and the problem was fixed. the sr-9 has shot the best with me, and ive shot 1911, g17, p95, xd9, g26. i hate glocks. period. people need to get off the glock dick

  • @SpdDemon69 That recall, BTW was like 3 years ago and it was for the full size only. They also recalled the LCP which is now the hottest selling pocket gun around. Notice the guy has no videos of him with HIS glock. He has no videos period. Thanks for injecting some reason in the debate.
