hmmm.. it is weird .. I just downloaded latest engine from official website .. but ...there are not so many textures to use and there are almost no objects to use... not even talking about aliens =)

@MrHiggis I believe you can use the crysis 2 mod sdk if you have crysis 2 and it should have all the textures and what not. I'm not sure if you can do all the same things with it though.

When I went to put down NPCs, in the physics folder there was only one folder labelled Marine, and contained a lifebelt and cage. That was it.

I`m just asking, so the game like Crysis 2 is made from this application and does it take a long time because the production of this game or because of the distribution of this game?

@BlackJack7900 A full on game requires a whole team. At least over 50 staff to work on voice acting, sound, a few for level design character animations all sorts of things. And even with 50 people it still requires at least a year to develop such a game. For one person I can imagine it would take many many MANY years for such a game and by then technology would change. SDKs are for small games. If you want to make a full FULL game, get a team and I recommend making your own engine.

@8Corei7 Every software you run adds wear to your computer, but I don't think the engine itself will do any massive damage to you pc, lol.

Could you help me to decide, which engine is better to study at the beginning? UDK or CryEnginge 3? UDK have that whole script thing, does CE have something similliar? I don't know any of programming languages, just basics from school. Sorry for grammar

@smoke9206 yeah CE does have Scripts, is not really my advanced stuff even though I do know Programming... Thing is Unreal is kinda Old, it was amazing back in the days, still looks great but its just not worth getting into an old engine in my opinion...

i downloaded it but it comes as a compressed file. how do i get it from compressed file to working? because i click on it and it gives me the list of what's inside instead of going straight to making the stuff i want.

@MeTaLdUdE02 Well Explain Slightly better, Is it a compressed Rar file that you just need to extract? if so download winrar and install it, after hat just right click on the file and press: extract to "folder name", once its done you can get it working

I have a question, and I would appreciate if anybody could help me. I've been working on a map in the sdk, and up until recently everything has been working fine, but for some reason whenever I go into game mode within the editor now, my player just walks through any solids or brushes without any sort of collision, and only collides with vegitation.

Does anybody know what the problem might be?

@cycorestudio I do believe that being used here is the Crysis 2 Sandbox, and not the actual CryENGINE SDK, as I use both and this one is definitely the Sandbox. If you dont have these feature its probably because you're using the CryENGINE 3 SDK not the Sandbox, and using the Sandbox requires Crysis 2, hence the Crysis 2 Content. Hope this helps everyone with this problem!

what if I don't have the same models in the first person format. I get a really old looking gun and hands that aren't like the nanosuit in this vid. @trossa82 i noticed that i didn't have as many materials and that it was a lot more complicated (to me). and there were a lot more menus like on the side of the terrain editor there was a big menu that isn't there in the vid. Do you know if theres anyway to get the version the guy has in the video??

Yeah you need Crysis 2 Because that's where the editor takes 95% of the textures from.

About where you put it it Doesn't matter as long as you direct the editor to it. good luck :)
