You'd think you'd be able to loot blood off a corpse, but it won't if you don't get a fat man drunk only to get a book to read." Shit like that.
@Pyrofreak321 LOL it happens only once, and there are other ways to get the info xD, I never drink with the guys because I hate to control Geralt when he's drunk, I always look for other options to get the books, info, etc.

For me 2 best RPGs are Dragon Age Origins and The Witcher. Ofc id put Dragon Age in 1st place, but i also strongly recommend to play The Witcher if you are into RPGs.
@DeatgMagnet this really is unfortunate... witcher is a FAR more original, better written and made game, but it doesn't have the big names behind it, and is less of a cookie-cutter MMORPG-style game... so it is looked down upon in the west. not to say that dragon age is bad, but it's standard, and witcher is not.
@DeatgMagnet d&d is an underlying mechanics system, which doesn't really define the gameplay for video games. standard video game rpg consists of: come to a place, talk to a few people, go to a forest next to the place, kill stuff, come back, sell drops from the stuff, repeat. that's all bioware games pretty much, just reaaaaaaally polished (don't get me wrong, i really love them). mmorpgs are just like that, except with 12 year olds. witcher at least had far better writing, and inventory.
@DeatgMagnet Agreed. I guess I can see how people would think it's a mmorpg at first glance because there are a handful of characters in a group, battling in dungeons. However unlike mmorpgs, your groupmates do what you tell them and aren't fucktards :)
@ColonelVolkov really? Dragon age's story is great sure it may not be original but it is still awesome. The characters are fun and have there own personality the dingle player is long and filled with side quests main quests and great characters to meet. There's romances the combet system is pretty easy. There is alot of loot the party banter is hilarious there is also some comedy thrown in. There are 3 classes and 6 origins and characters interact with you differently depending on what your are.
@ColonelVolkov Also the graphics may not be like mw2 graphic but they are still pretty good. There is so much replayabilityThere are a few different endings and last battle is really fun and has a challenge to it so i like the game but i don't undertand how witcher is better made then this game and if it was just another sandard rpg then how did it win rpg of the year? I love this game i would say dragon age is far above t=your standard rpg and did i mention the incredible amount of loot.

yes, you described mmorpgs, DA isnt mmorpg and is totally different.
character interactions and stuff, the conversations and choices are what makes a rpg a rpg and in mmorpg u dont have choices at all.
And btw, Witcher was: go to forest, kill stuff, come back too.
now d&d type rpgs are totally different, the persuasive and intimidating talks go for rolling, combat is turn based and based on rolling too.
