You know, I just read in a tech news story that the hackers say that the updates that Apple release are very easy to crack, that its almost like Apple is toying with the hackers by releasing new firmware but making it easy to break. Maybe Apple is doing a virtual Steve Jobs: it forces them to make their 3rd party iPhone apps better/one step ahead, and when Apple stops updating, the iPhone will have so many good apps it'll be able to do anything possible.

You should've actually watched the keynote before purchasing. Apple(Jobs) told the developers during the iPhone's presentation that applications would be made via web app, not through native installment of 3rd party apps. If you don't like this, buy something else, but don't think Apple tricked you into anything, because they did not.

Microsoft OS XP is very stable IMHO as a home OS. The place MS fails is on the server side, it is just not scalable in many situations plus it is not easily integrated with other OSs, neither is MAC. What we use at home and in our offices is tailored so that a bunch of people, who do not have a clue that all it is is 1s & 0s, can send an email and save a document whilst forgetting that they left the iron on that morning.

While I like Apple's computers and Mac OS X (and the later versions of OS 9), I have always thought that their "Think Different" slogan was incomplete. I think the marketing people were half-assed or half-asleep. Sure, anybody can think different, but that doesn't make it good. Hitler thought differently. Jeffrey Dahmer thought differently. How about "Think Better"? Anyway, isn't that what you want your computer to help you with - thinking better?

Apple wants to open up the iphone so that users can use it on any network. But if Apple does this now, while it is trying to introduce the iphone in Europe and around the world - how could it possibly convince a telephone network to team up with them? Apple really let us down this time. I don't see any problem in blocking the iPhones or blocking them again by software update. You agree to play by their rules when buying the product.
