when you say you fully rebuilt the engine does that inclued big end bearings or did you just do the head gasket, the reason i ask is im rebuilding an engine for my astra and its hard to find parts for these engines, watch my videos theres a couple of it on the dyno.
snap ive got a red 1 m reg, a blue t reg, and 3 white ones 2 t regs, and 1 m reg. best vans ive had but just a shame they dint carry on making them as there getting a bit too old now
wonder if you can help? i have a 96 combo,i changed thermostat as engine temp was low but gauge is showing zero,i got heat in heater inside but could be a lot hotter?what do you think my prob is?
Oh, by the way, when you broke down the old busted engine, Is this diesel engine a direct-injection OR a Indirect-injection diesel engine. I just can't tell.
AHH fair enough..i blew up my 1.2 engine then fitted a nother 1 in..then some Ba***d pulled out on me n like 3 months later because of that it wrote it off..hence why i have the sri now lol

van itself has done 125k but its solid as a rock underneath and in the engine bay. its an ex royal mail van and they service there motors well. The new engine i fitted has done has done 76k fully rebuilt with all receipts at 70k new complete top end rebuild and gaskets all round.
And for a old derv its not to shy. my other cars are on there on a vid call my cars :)

yeah you can with the alternator. plus its a diesel so there is no ignition that needs power.

yah you can as a diesel engine doesn't need power to run, just its fuel. plus the alternator provides the power in the absence of the battery.
