  • when hooking up a system right like you did, i was wondering. would you rather have this 12" xplod or a 12" pioneer also from walmart. (i listen to metal more than anything, but i will play rap when i want some nice beats though) not looking for very very powerful bass. not taking the chance of putting an old jbl in a car though sense the magnet is slightly corroded.

  • @bassnerd58 definitely get the sony xplod my friend had the pioneer sub and it sounded terrible and the basket of the sub was all plastic and it has a shitty surround too.

  • @hunter1shot alright then, thanks. any tips about the xplod, so i doesn't sound like crap? lol

  • @hunter1shot thats a lie XD i had one and it took 400 watts all day. they sound way better to me. and they get more excursion lol

  • i think xplods can be really loud... my friend's got 2 12 inch explod and it literaly shakes everything, seats, windows, doors and boot. but the quality of the sound is shit. if you're only after the loudness then by all means get the biggest cheapest sub out there.

  • Everyone save your money and google Sound Solutions Audio. Hand built in the USA to your specifications. DO NOT BUY AUDIO EQUIPMENT AT WALMART!!!!

  • If you set them up good, you'll be fine, my 12 is running at 1000 watts and my 10 I have is running at 300. It bumps hard as shit, just be careful at what power level you have it at because my 12 has clipped once on Put On by Jeezy. But yeah, these aren't too crappy as long as you don't abuse them. :)

  • Which is better quality wise? This 12" or the kicker 10"? the kicker is like 150 bucks its only 300watts, i don't have to much to spend on a system and i'm trying to get the best sub under like 200 bucks.

  • @theoffspringrox77 i would avoid this sub. try to look at your local bestbuy and see if they have any open box items i got an alpine type r 12 for $100 kicker 10's are very loud at all i would look around online too for a sale

  • Where the fuck is that ground going to!? China!? Lol.

  • To clarify when we say xplod sucks we mean not that they can't reproduce low frequencies or u can't hear them.

  • Wtf no vid!!!!!!!

  • @thugftw i'm going to get my cousin to install it because he has the exact same sub, head unit, and amp i was going to get and his sounds amazing.

  • Just out of curiousity, you didn't run the signal rcas and the power cable right next to each other did you? Ideally they should be opposite sides of the car to avoid interference.

  • @epb1243 yeah they are on opposite sides

  • And it doesn't have a damn thing to do with it. Monster just pisses me off. It was an off topic rant. Sorta related given my first comment, but not really.

  • @hunter1shot true- to a point. Any cable should be 99.% oxygen free. Unless you bought ridiculously shitty cable. Like back of an unmarked van at Walmart selling "surplus highend gear". I paid $12 for my 4 gauge kit. Its kicker. 99.9% oxygen free, and fair price. You are far more technically inclined than the average consumer- don't fall hype to the bullshit that is the "premium" cable business. A simple Google search will reveal how much of a scam it is.

  • @epb1243 i got the 25 foot roll of cable for $40 i just got monster brand because i knew it was true 4 gauge

  • @hunter1shot damn where'd you get monster that cheap( well, cheap for monster)? Every place ive seen it (granted that's only best buy and I think some at Walmart. I buy most of my cables from monoprice) its been closer to $70 or so a roll. Little cheaper for smaller gauges.

  • cause im prolly getting a xplod

  • how much watts are you runnin thru the sub cause it counds really nice

  • @809asphalt 380 rms

  • im new to this stuff so could pleaes make a vid on how to install a sub

  • @randomizedvidkids if u dont know how to, get someone to do it, cuz u might fuck something up so yea.

  • @randomizedvidkids get screws. Get leads to connect terminals on box to sub terminals. Screw sub into box. Not difficult. Just find a place to put the box. Trunk is normal for most, if less than ideal. Now amps....if you don't know what you are doing, find a friend to help you or pay someone to do it. You can muck up your amp or fry yourself if you aren't careful. I think crutchfield might include basic instructions on amp install, but they won't help if you aren't already technically inclined.

  • Don't even get me started on all their hyped up HDMI cable bullshit. The HDMI licensing group even said there was no need to purchase the ultra expensive ones, as anything truly HDMI licensed works the exact same no matter who the brand. (High speed from monster works the exact same as high speed from brand xy at Walmart)

  • @epb1243 what the fuck does a hdmi cable have to do with car subs?

  • I liked it up until you made it a point to say you had monster cable shit. power cable and speaker wire is all the same. Its all electrical impulses. A good no brand 4 gauge( as in true 4 gauge, not 4 gauge in the coating but only 8 gauge in wire) will be just as good as monster 4 gauge. Because all it does in power and speaker wire is carry electricity. In certain applications other types of cable can make a difference depending on the situation. (Component/rca a/v) but only to a point.

  • @epb1243 no thats not true, certain power wires contain less oxygen and more copper and they can make the biggest differences

  • so im guessing you wouldnt recommend this subwoofer and get the alpine type r. and how many do you have of the alpine

  • @chocolateman757 i have 1 alpine type r in a custom made ported box

  • thanks bro

  • whats the name of the song bro

  • @809asphalt phone numbers by wiz khalifa

  • do you think if i had two of these in my car with 2 pioneer amps that put out 820 watts each would be able to shake my car

  • @chocolateman757 i would just get 1 alpine type r in a ported box. it would last much longer and sound better

  • will a 1500w RMS sub work with an amp that has 2400W rms? i have these two but how can i make sure that the amp is running under 1500W rms through the sub not nothing more?

    Thanks!

  • @xxxkhafanxxx im not sure can you tell me the name of the sub and amp then i might be able to look it up

  • @hunter1shot

I actually have 2 Alpine type-X s and the amp is JBL GTO24001 . they are not set up yet. each sub takes 1000W RMS max. so 2000W RMS. the AMP itself has 2400W RMS. i want to know how to set it up so that it puts 1500W RMS through both subs ( 750 through each) and nothing more. can this be adjusted by the gain and x-overs on the actual amp?

    Thanks for your help !

  • @xxxkhafanxxx its possible but you would need to research it. there is videos on how to use a digital multimeter to set the gain on youtube.

  • how do you find out how many RMS you are running through the subs?

How do you find out how many Volts your subs are running?

    Thanks!

  • @xxxkhafanxxx you have to match the rms power when buying an amp and to measure volts get a digital multimeter and put it on the volts setting and put it into the power and ground on your amp when the music is at full volume

  • Do you have any advice on " how to set up your subs the RIGHT WAY to get the most out of them without blowing them up? would you have a video for that? thanks!

  • @xxxkhafanxxx its pretty simple get an amp to match the rms rateing of the sub and make sure its getting a constant 12.5- to 14 volts on full volume and make sure the box is the right volume for you sub and if you want to be louder then go ported

  • nice! did that last long? lol mine never did and they were really underpowered!

  • i got 2 10" in my trunk. yes they are the xplods from walmart but they are hitting hard. had them for over a year now n they surprisingly lasted way longer than my rockfordfosgate P1s. actually sound better too. i made a video if anyone wants to watch.

  • great song for bass i love it try the song pd gucci an plies i think

  • nice

  • good bass man. fck the haters

  • Haha how shittyyyyyyyyyyyy and sony xplod do suck trust me dude u wasted about a buck 50 on them bitches. Wally world finatic and alpine isint much better if you don't know how to set it up right like that oversized wire for that shitty sub. U were loosin power on that bitch.

  • @jensenbud88 can you make that video yet?

  • yea and if u run it at max power ur gunna blow em faster,i had my crappy xplode for like 4 months and i was barely pushin it.

  • what size amp i got the same sub

  • @hunter1shot What song was playing?

  • @Static074 Phone numbers by wiz khalifa

  • @hunter1shot do u think its worth getting this because im not spending enough money to buy any top brands... will the subs blow after a couple months or what? and what size amp are u running to that sub

  • @xMaGiKKiLLax i would check local retail stores such as best buy to see if they have open box items i got a alpine type r 12 for $100 and it normally cost $200. This Sony Xplod cost $70 so if you can spend a little bit more i would do it. The surround on the sony xplod wears out with in 6 months if you constantly play it at full power.

  • i love how everything is from walmart

  • sub blew the next day hahah
